Last time, Kanade made sure to actually get some sleep on the flight to New York while Shouko took the time to study the notes on her piece and her performance. After checking in at the hotel Takimoto got a call from Abby and after finding out she wasn't a judge and was there for a workshop Takimoto took the time to arrange for individual lessons for Kanade, Shouko and Akito from her much to their delight once they found out. Having some down time before the hectic nature of the next week and change starts Kanade got to chow down on a genuine Burgerland burger. Kanade vowed to put on a performance that would get her that Royal Ballet scholarship before Takimoto dropped her charges off for their first workshops.
They're back! I think Cuvie's actually pretty good at depicting westerners. Chloe's bady language, personality, speaking style and such feel pretty spot on without being overdone.
That has to be way back from, what, volume 2 or 3 right? I feel Cuvie's really good about kind of subtly showing their physical growth in changes in that I don't notice it quite as much well reading but looking back... yeah.
Though it's not shown until next volume, #117 here is Zixuan Lee from China? Or maybe Chinese-American or she's from Hong Kong. I can't read moon. Anyway, she's dacing this variation from Flames of Paris.
I honestly think someone in the cast is going to wind up going the Broadway/theater route down the road. Could be one of the mains or someone like Chloe.
Ch11, response to making it through the first round of the first competition, yeah. She's definitely good at depicting growth over time.

So once more Kanade and Shouko's (well mainly Kanade's) dream is reaffirmed as well. Will they be able to fulfill it?
That's all for this chapter and this volume. Next time... there is no next time. This is the end of what's been translated so far. Thanks for sticking around.
it's hard to believe they're 13 or 14 years old to be desu

Honestly I found the series on a whim while looking for something new to read, came into it with no knowledge of ballet and absolutely loved it and came away with a new appreciation for ballet as an art form. I wanted more people to read it so I figured why not dump it? Especially after seeing the daily storytimes for stuff like YKK or Yotsuba.
Hopefully I was able to get a few more people into it because I think it's a really well done sports series with a good cast, a great MC and does a good job of drawing you into the world of a niche activity that you might otherwise overlook.
I'm glad to see more people doing dumps of series that they think are neat as well so hopefully there's more of that and to balance out the shitposting a little bit. I liked doing this and I'm probably going to come back with something else at the start of the weekend. Maybe something that's complete this time.

>Oliver more or less said that to Abby already

Well, she's overdone it a bit, though. I mean, Kanade is 1,60m tall at 13 y.o., she'll be like 1,80 at 15 y.o. if she keeps on growing like that, and 1,95 at 18 y.o. And she'll probably be taller than Takimoto in 1 year.

long legs are long

Appreciate the dumb, was fun to follow.
Now to wait for the next volume.
Henry Hughes
She's explicitly supposed to be on the taller side though. Shit, there's a joshi wrestling promotion that has a 14-year-old who's 174 cm tall.
Also spoiler I guess since no idea when the next volume will be translated.
Akito, Chloe, Maho, Zixuan and Ema all get bounced in the first round. Kanade and Shouko are the only characters left standing, can't tell if Miriam made it through or not.
Juan Bell
Takimoto calling, telling her the YAGP is offering her to dance her solo at the Gala.
William Baker
Oh, ok, I though she was going to get a scholarship, I'm slightly disapointed. Well, she'll most likely get one anyway, it wouldn't make too much sense for her to not get one considering the pace of the story. It would be like those sports manga where the fail to win the high school title and have to try go back to training again with some new guys in the team, and Grande Scene is not really about that typical shonen trope.
Parker Ross
So basically, Kanade's almost definitely made top 12 and gotten a prize. She'll almost definitely get at least one scholarship I'm guessing so it'll be interesting to see where.
Funny enough, a Japanese guy in the same age group as Akito got silver at last year's YAGP dancing the same Flames of Paris variation Akito's dancing.

Irony being it looks like she botched it. She should have taken more sugar cakes and burgers. To be desu, they make them a bit too obsessed with nutrition and not eating too much. Actually, at their age and considering how much sport they're doing, eating one more cake or one more burger is totally irrelevant and wouldn't change anything.
Brayden Cruz
Seems like she maybe overexerted herself and that Risa's costume might not have helped matters, probably making her too hot or something; can't see why they'd have a panel focusing on the costume otherwise.
Nicholas Scott
she'll need to learn how to take fast glucids, proteins and amino acids just before a show, anyway
Adam Walker
in 2002, the most famous French commentator said exactly that on national TV during the football world cup
>nothing looks more like a Korean than another Korean >especially when disguised as football players
the shitstorm that ensued was relatively fun
Hunter Barnes
Guessing that sweets and eating more meats and things like that will actually be useful for her. Also some of the earlier raws make it look like she might already be kind of sick as well.
