She is a plot device to advance the story. You are supposed to hate her and sympathise with Naofumi and his entourage covering as many harem templates as possible (one per volume, with the girl being in cover of said volume). She does not have a will and is forced do things to hate her like a one dimensional villain template and develop Naofumi's character.

The reason is simple. I don't hate her actions, but I hate that she does all of this to get rid of Shield hero.... WITHOUT ANY REASONABLE MOTIVE like holy shit make something up, for the plot's sake instead of her just being "ebil :DDD" that's literally brainlet tier.
And the novel explanation that she's a part of some "ebil :DDD" goddess and didn't even die after getting killed twice makes it even worse.
