Cringe.
Berserk is for edgy 14 year olds who make shitty drawings of people getting beheaded in their school notebooks

Berserk isn't edgy at all, its great. I'm of course strickly referring to the old anime series.
The characters like guts, Griffith are really thought out.

Oh a Berserk thread. Well someone has gotta do it.

And Costco enjoyed it.

Are the anime adaption(s) as good as the manga?

WHOOOOOOO AREEEEE YOOOOOOOOOU!?!!??!

Why do berserk fans feel the need to keep telling us this. Only idiots think he did anything wrong. He is a role model that we should do everything in our power to achieve our dreams.

how is berserk edgy desu? compared to something like hunter x hunter or naruto?

I miss these times when Berserk was good. I wish it was just axed after the end of Golden Age arc

...making them have great taste in manga, much better than normalfag 20 year olds who go crazy over bland shounenshit like BNHA, Naruto, DBZ, and Black Clover.

Was getting Guts and Casca together part of Griffiths plan?

Attached: 1415187683972.jpg (337x404, 29K)

It's becoming more and more clear that it should have had an ambiguous ending just after the Eclipse. Lost Children and Tower of Conviction were good arcs, but all they've done is set up for more plot that Miura clearly doesn't have the ambition to finish.
We'll all be wishing it finished with the Eclipse eventually, either after Miura dies leaving us with no ending at all, or when he rushes a shit ending everyone hates.

It's a bit difficult to explain to people who sum the story up as a Guts/Casca/Griffith conflict (not referring to anyone in particular) who usually end up being the ones who claim Berserk = Golden Age. I love Golden Age and i think it's masterfully written, but much more things are in Miura's head when writing Berserk than Guts' revenge.
Every big arc's climax has been an important part in the God Hand's masterplan, with the Blast of the Astral World being the most important event in the world of Berserk, so it's very likely that more will be revealed about the antagonists this arc and the stakes will get higher, which will drive the plot forward. Don't expect the story to revolve much around semirealistic medieval politics anymore though, Miura has already made his point in that regard.

This. It's because Jill was based on the original heroine from the pilot chapter.

>"quality writing"
The fuck is that supposed to mean?

irony

She's great, because her circumstances mirror that of Guts. It's like Guts is looking back on his early years before nigger dick.

I really wanted to hear Sign 2 in a new, GOOD, Berserk show as the opening for its triumphant return.

I'll say this in a language you understand: yikes!

Yeah, too bad he has a whole pack of autistic retards now to drive him slowly into insanity.

>before nigger dick.
It's implied she gets raped regularly by her dads friends.

Waiting on Miura to turn them into Sacrifice fodder. No event has truly mirrored the trauma of the Eclipse in the story. Guts needs to be kicked down hard, again, in the story.

Well, I guess she has even more in common with Guts then!

>Guts needs to be kicked down hard, again, in the story.
So Casca screaming in terror when she sees Guts for the first time after getting de-potatoed doesn't count?

and i suppose you think my asspull academy is better? or even worse your one of those oh my rubber ken fagggots arent you. yea your just some brooding optimist who cant stand thats its not all unicorns and rainbow farts. your going to make them all suffer for this why cant you just have a nice tea party with your tranny friends online on tumblr without people trolling you?

It should be the prelude to a sudden and terrifying drop in Gut's number of companions.

Why would a second Eclipse happen when Griffith is on the top of the world and has no one that can stop him? And why would Guts group be the ones sacrificed instead of the thousands living in Griffith's magical kingdom?

Because Idea of Evil is a prick, that's why.

You just want them to die, don't start asking for stupid shit to happen in the story.

>Guts needs to be kicked down hard, again, in the story.
I see you share a patricians opinion as well user, cheers.

Attached: 3631451.jpg (400x225, 30K)

>people important to Guts dying is stupid shit

AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HAA! They're on borrowed time, I bet the only survivors is the brat and loli.

>Shitty drawings
WTF?

>>people important to Guts dying is stupid shit
Are you incapable of following a conversation? I said that asking for a second Eclipse to happen just to kill the characters that YOU don't like is fucking stupid, especially when it makes no sense in the fucking story.

Fun fact every major female character in the series has had a nude scene except her

Attached: 1495898021360.jpg (806x1036, 221K)

Hurr durr like elf land isn't going to get burned down.

She is pretty much naked underwater as a mermaid right?

>especially when it makes no sense in the fucking story.
No him but what makes you think it makes no sense in the story?
If he gets a moment of desperation and snaps the beast finally takes over. He could easily just summon an eclipse from sheer emotions and not even on purpose. Just like Griffith and Rosine he may enter a state where he's looking at a fragment of his past or dreams in front of him and wouldn't pay attention to anyone screaming in the background.
Even if he doesn't that behelit is still there and will probably be used for something in the story, so you're wrong. I bet if he doesn't snap and cause an Eclipse then Casca will, she's even more susceptible than him.
But it's obvious that not all characters would die even if an Eclipse is summoned.

That's not the mermaid you dumbass.

There's only one edgy arc in Berserk and that's lost children.

Attached: 1490235677129.jpg (758x1100, 270K)

You're also missing the point, I'm saying that a second Eclipse happening JUST to kill Guts' group, when they are nowhere near Griffith, doesn't make any sense when he has a kingdom with who knows how many thousands of people living in his kingdom.

>Even if he doesn't that behelit is still there and will probably be used for something in the story, so you're wrong. I bet if he doesn't snap and cause an Eclipse then Casca will, she's even more susceptible than him.
Yes, Casca, a survivor of the Eclipse is going to cause a second Eclipse.

And jet she gives off an overpowering slut vibe.

>Yes, Casca, a survivor of the Eclipse is going to cause a second Eclipse
There's no rule against it is there? It's just based on overflow of emotions of desperation and temporary madness, and a Sacrifice moment happens quite often with people exposed to the behelit.
>when he has a kingdom with who knows how many thousands of people living in his kingdom
You're right, I am missing the point. Are you saying that it would make more sense to have a behelit sacrifice moment near Griffith so some more fags would die?

I think there's idiots posting here who didn't even read the manga.

>There's no rule against it is there?
I don't know, I was talking about the fact that a person that has lived through it wouldn't recreate it knowingly. And you also have to consider that Guts is there and would do almost anything to stop it from happening.

>Are you saying that it would make more sense to have a behelit sacrifice moment near Griffith so some more fags would die?
Yes, it makes more sense that Griffith would be the one to trigger the second Eclipse and that it would take place on his kingdom with thousands of souls instead of it happening on an island where you can deal with Casca's trauma.

I thought about Griffith sacrificing his kingdoms populace as well, but Sacrifice moments happen often in this universe.
I wouldn't put it past Guts or Casca activating them unintentionally. In those states people sometimes have no control over their mind. And take Casca for example, she's torn between three states - an amnesiac state of sanity (after the current magic tricks), a toddler level mind state (sane but deprived of mature thought) and a state of pure insanity and hysteria (now after seeing Guts and certain moments when she remembered the eclipse in the potato state).
So, if she's in the third state she could easily trigger a Sacrifice. I personally believe it more possible that Guts would be the one triggering it since it would be a nice twist to his current flaccid personality, but she's an option too.
And good ol' Griffith can have another behelit moment as well, why not hey, he can keep racking them up.

My love for you.... is like a truck....

>And good ol' Griffith can have another behelit moment as well, why not hey, he can keep racking them up.
That's the attitude my friend.

Attached: 1537461701824.jpg (733x720, 82K)

>So, if she's in the third state she could easily trigger a Sacrifice. I personally believe it more possible that Guts would be the one triggering it since it would be a nice twist to his current flaccid personality, but she's an option too.
I disagree with everything that you said.
Why would Guts be the one to trigger it when he's half depressed and has accepted the fact that it might be best for him to stay away from Casca for her to be happy?
And about Casca triggering the behelit, don't you think that after she sees all the shit that Guts had to go through to protect her and after she talks with the group or someone on the island she's going to calm down?

>lubes up the Dragon Slayer

Attached: hat.png (563x784, 817K)

>talks with the group or someone on the island she's going to calm down?
No. Talking to merry go lucky shitters doesn't calm people down when remembering serious and traumatic shit, as a matter of fact it only pisses them off more.
Remember kids, talking doesn't solve anything. Fighting does.
Honestly I believe we had enough talking and being depressed for 2 decades. People snap, it happens. Guts cant stay depressed and collegial forever either.

>No. Talking to merry go lucky shitters doesn't calm people down when remembering serious and traumatic shit, as a matter of fact it only pisses them off more.
You mean people that have been traveling with Guts and have seen all the shit that he has done to keep Casca safe and magical beings that can show her exactly what Guts did and explain shit without being vague?

>Remember kids, talking doesn't solve anything. Fighting does.
I can't tell if you're being ironic or not.

>I can't tell if you're being ironic or not.
I was actually being serious there.
You're thinking about it all too conveniently. Reality doesn't follow convenience, like I said, people snap it's only natural. Sometimes going crazy and breaking shit is more logical and healthy that talking to some jokers, it only racks up more faggotry and stress to deal with later.
And because snapping is an integral part of the human psyche, you have to keep that in mind. Do you really think in the following chapters some stupid little loli witch and bitch ass Farnese will be able to calm Casca down?
Even if that happens that would again be unrealistic and overly convenient, and if not then it would be seriously hard and demanding, and certainly not permanent.

As for Guts I already expressed my opinion, he cannot stay collegial forever. He'll need to eventually go off on his own and go batshit again, these people are only softening him down.

By anime in general's standards, Fantasia arc is great. By Berserk's standards, Fantasia is shit.

The Godhand bloopers crack me up to end because they maintain the dramatic over-the-top voice-work.

>Reality doesn't follow convenience, like I said, people snap it's only natural. Sometimes going crazy and breaking shit is more logical and healthy that talking to some jokers, it only racks up more faggotry and stress to deal with later.
What was Guts doing before taking care of Casca? Going crazy and breaking shit. How did that work out for him?

>Do you really think in the following chapters some stupid little loli witch and bitch ass Farnese will be able to calm Casca down?
>Even if that happens that would again be unrealistic and overly convenient, and if not then it would be seriously hard and demanding, and certainly not permanent.
I was thinking of the magical fairy queen that was able to make Casca's retardation go away being the one to calm Casca calm down. And who said that all the damage had to be undone or that it would be over and done with in one chapter?

Losing Guts certainly was not a part of his plan. Caska didn't even cross his homosexual mind at all.

Attached: 1467603280760.gif (536x401, 1.62M)

>They're on borrowed time, I bet the only survivors is the brat and loli.
Maybe. We can certainly agree that Serpico, in particular, is a dead man walking.

Attached: Serpico.jpg (275x323, 35K)

The 1997 anime cuts some things from the manga and ends on one of the most painful cliffhangers of all time, but what it does cover is about as well done as I could hope for. Atmospheric art direction, beautiful music, strong pacing, etc.

The movies aren't terrible but they're basically an abridged version of the original anime, minus the brief extension on the ending of the third movie that finally covers something new.

Opinions on 2016 anime are... mixed...

Attached: Berserk 1997.jpg (736x552, 224K)

But we see Ivarella nude all the time.

It also happens to be the best arc in Berserk.

Attached: 1465852764899.jpg (968x761, 103K)

where can one watch it?

I think Serpico's the most likely to die of the current party, unless we get my wish and purge one or two comic relief characters, but I think they'll touch back on his backstory with Farnese and reveal to her that they're siblings before anything else happens. It's been ages since he's gotten character focus.

Attached: serpico.jpg (322x596, 68K)

How new are you?

Man, imagine how easy it would have been for a composer to just give Guts some generic angry heavy bass theme and call it a day.

I'm glad that Susumu Hirasawa left his mark on the series.

Attached: Guts_Casca.jpg (500x520, 129K)

Oh come on best arc is tower of conviction and you know it. It was so well constructed and had so many different sub-arcs.
It also led into Farnese fucking herself with a sword and the hill of swords.

Pretty sure the whole series is just straight up on youtube.

stop forcing that piece of shit opening for faggots

Forces 2 > Forces God Hand > Forces > Forces 1.5 > Forces 2016

I didn't like Mozgus or his followers. Way too over the top for me to take seriously. I liked the arc, but not them.

So when the fuck is the next chapter out? This better not be yet another 2 year hiatus.

Never.

don't worry, it'll be a 3 year one

>Guts had to leave a genuinely interesting and sympathetic child character behind in an abusive home because bringing her into his cursed life's journey would be cruel and dangerous
>instead we got Isidro, who has no backstory and will never go away

Attached: 1474751874153.jpg (306x306, 66K)

Attached: 1434946667873.jpg (399x499, 95K)

Im pretty sure the party is about to get split up. Isidro will still be around but probably not with guts if I had to guess.

Attached: U4f83ap.png (363x474, 175K)

I liked bird mask guy, being a genuinely mellow and soft-spoken person who doesn't want to hurt people but still desperately shows loyalty to the one man who took him in.

I wish that Mozgus himself was a little more morally grey though. I think it would have been interesting if we saw him doing genuine good for the citizens who were faithful to the church to offset his dark zealous side, rather than showing his blatant cruelty to people who were just fighting to feed their children.

Attached: Mozgus.jpg (1131x1568, 617K)

>Time was actually passing while Miura didn't draw
>Next chapter has an Old Man Guts with white hair and beard
>Isidro is now a badass adult
>Casca committed suicide causing mild mental damage on Guts who just walks with the party but barely speaks

Proof? Never came across this ever.

I think it'd be pretty interesting if Griffith used fast travel to suddenly attack elf island with his armies. I'm pretty sure Griffith considers witches and the spirit trees as threats right (haven't read berserk in a while)? So he comes in, his plan works fairly well, but Guts and co. try and mount a desperate resistance, but Schierke is killed in the process (for reasons I'll get to later). Guts goes completely fucking berserk and we get a nuce scene of Guts going back to his old ways of relying on his anger instead of his friends. But he's pretty quickly overwhelmed and loses his leg. He is safely recovered, but he is forced to get a peg leg until he can find a suitable replacement (probably from Rickert), and he once again becomes cold, distant and angry, which would tie back nicely to Gambino and the theme of causality. Schierke's death would force Isidro to mature and stop being a little shit, while Farnese would be forced to push through her own suffering, which would in turn lead to Serpico development as they have both been developing previously as a result of each other. Guts still decides to stay with the group because Casca is still irreplaceable to him, and because of their brands and Farnese's inability to create talismans (either due to emotional issues or she was never taught), apostles and spirits would come back in full force. Since Guts has a peg leg, he would be essentially forced to use the Berserker Armor without help from magic to keep him under control in order to fight off the slew of apsotles. This in turn would put him in even more danger of possession by the Beast of Darkness and his mind and body being pushed even further past their limits. Feel free to call me out on my shit ideas

>How did that work out for him?
Good actually, he was quite effective and competent.
>over and done with in one chapter?
Like I don't think it would be over ever. The Fairy Queen I didn't even mention because she's straight out of a kiddy fairy tale picture book, dresses like a slut in a Tchaikovsky ballet and acts like a know it all dumpster. For a stressed traumatized woman that's the worst insult, Farnese and Schrieke are at least human beings she knows helped so they'd have a chance but my point was not even they are on her level.
Yeah, I'm not too sure talking will work this out user.

I just want to see Guts and Casca interact again.

This would be ideal. The cast is getting unwieldy. Too many characters with random bullshit to chime in with.
We can easily leave the captain and whatshisface behind. I'd vote for leaving Isidro and the mermaid too, but it'll just be the mermaid. Hopefully at least one elf will get dropped. There's also the very low possibility of Shierke staying behind to learn magic or something (only to show up again later at a crucial moment). Farnese might leave to study too but I feel Miura has something in store for her and Serpico.
Lastly, and I can't decide if this is the most or least likely is Casca.

She started screaming already, so we just have to wait for him to scream back now.

Guts will have to leave her, won't he?

Attached: 0355-019.jpg (1107x1600, 776K)

It would have been better if Caska had been restored to sanity but lost all of her memories in exchange, prove me wrong.

In the end, I did like him the most that he was thorough in his conviction to his beliefs, even despite his transformation, he still only did what he thought was right.

>"Prostitute has sex with multiple partners. More at 11."
Why are purityfag incels incapable of understanding that real life isn't a Disney fairy tale wherein everyone falls in love at first sight with one partner and lives happily ever after?

She wasn't just a prostitute. She was a slut. Luca, in contrast, still had a pure heart. There's a difference.

I thought Conviction and Lost Children were part of the same arc

They are but everyone separates them because Lost Children has little to do with conviction and because of the way the arc is treated in adaptions. Also lost Children fans are rabid and the haters just as insistent on it being separate into its own "arc". Thats the power of Rosine the Moth Queen.

Its just muira being a hack. Femto may not feel anything for Guts but it doesn't mean he would forget what he looks like. Femto would know who that is. As far as protecting, I doubt it. He just doesn't care either way.

I shit you not, yes

I want them to be reunited but that would just be wish fulfillment. I hope casca is still traumatized but slowly regains her badassery. Her just being cured would be kinda boring and i dont think miura likes to do things so easily..

Is there any other female in fiction more perfect than Prime Casca? I don't think so. She's the epitome of the brown tomboy.

Oh yeah youtube.com/watch?v=gV26zIE0130

I'm okay with seeing Casca's slow and emotional recovery amidst her introduction to the new group and grief over the loss of the old one as long as we actually get to see it.

Immediately switching the story back to Griffith and immediate hiatus after being able to hear Casca speak for the first time since the Golden Age is just painful.

Attached: Berserk_Casca_Hawks.png (614x568, 373K)

>people care about casca

In fiction, period? Sure I can think of some good examples.

In anime/manga? It's a bit harder.

Attached: Asha_Asoiaf.jpg (1060x1500, 148K)

Gotta find female manga authors.

Attached: Dorohedoro.jpg (500x665, 97K)

Conviction is Berserk at its most unalloyed in concept in my opinion. Sure the Golden Age is better as a story but Berserk overall is about a very angry man who has had a very hard life fighting unbelievable horrors with a comically large sword to protect the ones he cares about. It lacks the relationships that made Golden Age the Golden Age but it has stellar moments, Guts' classic loadout with the Dragonslayer and the arm so we can see him cut loose and some really great fights with memorable villains. Up there with the Golden Age and the last gasp of real quality before we see the RPG party fight against generic trolls and the Berserker armor existing just so Guts can just spin to win when prior he used his intelligence to win fights he couldn't brute force his way through

I just like exotically brown tomboys. Asha's pretty good though.

Attached: 1417809151106.png (1476x1100, 163K)

Jill met Guts when he was running toward his doom. Ishido when he was running away. Situation are completely different.

Guts does. He will turn his brown tomboy waifu into a baby factory if it's the last thing he does.

Not unironically I imagine. I remember saving an episode just so I can listen to HAI YOOOOOOOOOO. The only thing worth a shit in that garbage dump.

Id do the same thing desu

While The Golden Age is probably still my favorite for the merit of having Guts, Griffith, and Casca playing off of each other in equal measure, Conviction is my favorite for exploring the underlying horror of the setting and the Godhand's lasting influence on the world.

The bit where Guts looks out at all the destruction near the end and is practically the only human alive who can recognize the brand mark burned into the land and what it means for them is chilling. I miss that feeling of cosmic horror that the conflict had.

Griffith needs a personality again. He's just a stoic edgelord.

Also if you say that you would have done anything different in Griffiths position you're either lying or you're just flat out retarded.

Don't forget

Only a retard would damn his eternal soul and become the devil incarnate to save his crippled body, not to mention magic exists in the world, so you could just fix it that way.

Griffith's an asshole who screwed himself over the second he went to Charlotte's room at night, but I don't think the Godhand are too worried about the state of their souls.

The idea of any of them ever actually dying is probably inconceivable to them.

Luca was a trashbag as well. She had a more stable mind and more confidence that's all. Nina was not so wrong to see it all as tragic and pointless, Luca's optimism in a dishonorable way of living is far more disgusting in my opinion. Nina was at least made to look sad and sympathetic, her fear and instability in such a life are rather realistic. Luca was straight out Cum dumpster Sue self-insert for idiotic harlots.
She's an unaware hypocrite and I only liked that Miura made her think twice about selling Casca into prostitution when she was considering it. She thinks bitches should earn their money working and blowing cock and then even destroys that poor dude's necklace so she can have a girl-cooperation moment.
Give me a break, there's something fundamentally wrong with this character and she needs to check herself.

>Nobody in history has ever preferred death to betraying their beliefs

Eternity is a long time, a lot can happen. Albeit we don't know if "Idea of Evil" is at the top of the metaphysical vibration, but other powerful spirits/angels/demons definitely exist in the astral, like the "Four Kings of the World" Schierke summoned. Thus someone benevolent and equally or even more powerful then the "God Hand" existing is plausible.

The Golden Age movies had a bunch of amazing scenes, why do people shit on them so much?

You have the right to an opinion even if it's wrong.

Attached: Luca Conviction Arc.png (1143x793, 478K)

Luca is trying to make the best of a bad situation and look on the bright side of life. Without her the other prostitutes would fall into despair and become no different from the other disheartened refugees at the tower. It may have been a dishonest way of living, but it was all she had, and she would keep the others' hopes up for a better future through sharing the wealth they obtained amongst each other instead of succumbing to greed.

When the films looked good they looked really good, but I still thought they were a bit too CGI heavy and rushed the pacing of something I had already seen adapted well once before.

It would have been great if they had started at the end of the third movie and made something moving on from there, but as is I think it's just the weaker of the two Golden Age adaptions.

Attached: 1449111588169.jpg (610x864, 141K)

wait so what was the deal with the egg idol's skin idol?

*egg apostle

The Egg of the Perfect World had virtually nothing to him, no name, no family, no possessions, just the behelit he found. Once he became an Apostle he continued to watch the refugees and imitate the people who fell into his situation too, granting power to people who desired it to see if they could change their fates. He built a holy see altar in his lair because he observed all the refugees praising Mozgus and Mozgus worshipping the altar in the tower, and so the Apostle wondered if he could've been a part of that world he watches if his luck had been different.

By the time of the Imitation Eclipse and the Apostle was nearing death, he just wanted to tell his story to someone (Luca) as proof that he existed before he went to his demise. The guy probably didn't even know what "humanity" is in the moral sense, so the only thing he could lose was his life when making a sacrifice, as he even took the demon child with him so neither of them would have to die alone when he finally saw the perfect world come to pass.

As of last episode, Casca is the MC of Berserk.

You are factually wrong. There are dozens of cases everyday of people choosing death in order to hold on to their beliefs. See suicide bombers. Just because youre an edgelord cynic doesnt mean the rest of the world is.

I mean, I kinda agree with you, but I wouldn't say that suicide bombers are the best antithesis to edgelord cynics.

Now that the dust has settled, was shifting the tone from WRPG to JRPG a necessary development?

Attached: TC.png (1221x580, 606K)

Necessary no, natural yes.

Attached: 1531032069241.png (1030x1142, 1.07M)

Will she ever go yandere-mode?

The second muira decides to stop being a hack, yes. So no.

They arent, im just saying that the argument “anybody that says they wouldnt hve done the same thing as griffith is lying” is ridiculous since we see that sort of unwaveringness plenty of times already.

I think the main point here is no one who wouldn't go through with it would have gotten that far to begin with. Griffith was ALWAYS going to give it all up for his dream. If you as a person didn't really mean it there would be dozens of places you would have stopped where Griffith didn't. But if you did it like he did up until the Godhand is asking you to say that one word, no one in that position would not say the word.

Attached: 1548408341249.jpg (1536x1341, 294K)

I miss the more grounded action of earlier arcs, but I think Miura kind of wrote himself into a corner with enemies as strong as the Godhand. So there weren't many ways to proceed without more magic.

As far as the dark tone goes, Guts has made new friends, found a sense of purpose in his hope for Casca, and he's made it to one of the last safe havens in the world. I'm perfectly okay with the story's tone mellowing out and experiencing something lighter for a while in the face of everything that he's seen.

I just wish that there were less comic relief characters that didn't serve any role in the cast dynamic. Puck wouldn't bother if he still had more of a personality beyond cracking jokes and actually had chemistry with anyone else in the group beyond pestering them.

Attached: 3475.png (2481x1800, 641K)

I want to see her naked.

I agree. It's great to see Guts mellow out and be able to form relationships again because it feels like a natural progression of his character. But I can do without Miura's comedy stylings.

She's the same age and build as Rosine so just use her as a surrogate.

What do the god hand even do whenever they're not summoned in the real world?
youtube.com/watch?v=yilQ25Wr-S8

I still want to see her naked. I love small blonds.

Just shoop her head onto Rosines body, ezpz.

HAAAIII HAAAIII FOOOORSEEESS

He still wants Guts to be his, but he can't have him the way he was just there.

Apparently each of them has a preferred layer of existence they probably stick to, which makes sense if we assume that the Idea of Evil told each member to do as they will. I would assume they are separated from each other most of the time.

Attached: 1534997518295.png (1267x1800, 687K)

It was disappointing more than anything. Like Miura retreating into the safety of the tried and true Japanese format.

By having it more western fantasy based, he showed he wasn't afraid to flex his creative and historical muscles by making something not totally culturally back-yard to himself, as it were.

Going JRPG feels like he lost some of his fire and ambitious spirit to break the mold.

Ubik parties in his own little layer of Hell, Slan parties like Ubik but with more sex, Conrad rolls around in rats and spreads the plague, and Void stares into the void.

Attached: YOU STOOOLE FIZZY LIFTY DRINKS.png (1600x1118, 2.61M)

I'm cool with more magic but I feel like Schierke could have used a bit of a nerf. I genuinely like the spiritual guide and young fish-out-of-water mentor aspects of her character, but having her able to decimate entire armies after a few minutes of charging up her mana trivializes a few things.

But then again, I guess them having to eventually go up against the Antichrist balances that out a bit.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Band of the Hawk, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on the Blue Whales, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top cumdump in the entire Femto army. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on the Physical World, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the campfire? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the Holy See and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of my homeboy Guts, that little bitch Farnese, and our pet midget Schierke, and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Yes she is!

Battle Beast's Berserk songs make my peepee hard.

No, they tried to rape her and that's why she ran to the forest

Nelly is from Saint Louis so the radio stations like to periodically remind us by playing some of his stuff. Must be the money.

Shierke's whole "thing" is that it takes a long fucking time to get ready, and even when things are right, she's bound by the spirits available in the area. She didn't want to use the fire wheel or the rotting oak, because both aren't something easily controlled, but had no other choice. Added to that, she needs to be able to concentrate. I can see things going disastrously wrong if Miura decides to let it happen.

But Shierke's power is a symptom of the whole story power creeping past humans. And I think that's going to be the big thing at the end. Guts has been a human, outclassed and outmatched going up against impossible odds, right up until he got the Berserker armor. He's repeatedly talked about humans not being sold short, and now he's doing something straight impossible for a human. I think he'll have to abandon the armor in order to challenge Femto. Only Guts is free from Causality because of his birth, and so only Guts and not any tricky magics can defeat Femto, who seems to have control over Causality itself (see Skull Knight's attacks missing)

Fair enough, there are still a lot of ways to get creative with WMD magic and its consequences, but I don't think they've dealt with any major backfires from it yet.

>Only Guts is free from Causality because of his birth, and so only Guts and not any tricky magics can defeat Femto
I think Griffith's downfall will stem from some buried human weakness on his part, where he's forced to realize that he's not as emotionally hollow as he puts on, either in relation to what he lost with Guts or the feeling of being left alone at the pinnacle of existence after his city finally crumbles.

Which may or may not build on how he's basically fused with Guts's and Casca's child.

Attached: cobblestones.png (500x716, 381K)

I'm surprised there hasn't been a chapter of her schlicking to thoughts of Griffith

Is bags the best berserk meme?

But where would I be without boat jokes?

Attached: off the boat.jpg (5588x2561, 3.52M)

It felt like a gradual and natural progression and especially with how amazing the stuff with shiva and stuff was to bring about Fantasia I have hopes the final arc will be handled very well even if it has gone very very heavily on the Fantasy but it always kinda has just not as much

I can see this happening wasnt that how he ultimately defeated the slug baron?

>mfw I started reading Berserk and caught up right when Casca gets her mind back

Attached: 1548619506309s.jpg (250x248, 6K)

Essentially, but Guts didn't even really beat him in the end. The Baron willingly chose to die because even an apostle like him wasn't completely devoid of emotions and human connection.

But that's my point. All the power in existence will be for naught if all it does is leave you with an eternity of isolation at the top of ruins you left behind.

Attached: 0297-Blind God.jpg (1132x1600, 419K)

Wow it makes no sense that a man at his absolute lowest wouldn’t want a little kid coming along with him on his hellish revenge quest but later would after accepting that to fulfill his goal in life which he finally found he needed to accept others and their help again

I understood accepting Farnese and Serpico into the group, but Isidro would have been dead within three chapters if he didn't have comic relief armor.

Attached: 9757658.jpg (656x1101, 548K)

To doubters of Miura’s current writing skills can’t we all agree this mini arc was great?

Tbh I feel like Miura was maybe gonna try to do a Gambino/Kid Guts parallel with him but just kinda didn’t

Or maybe he’s just there for comedy’s sake who knows

I want more dark fantasy.
I want Jill, Theresia, and Rosine, at least give conviction, or something like Isidro and Farnese in volume 22 (backstory)

Instead we get high fantasy. And we are prepped for higher fantasy. And...

Berserk is prepping for a reset point. After guts v Casca is resovled. Guess what Muira wrote himself into? A very long time skip where he is prepping for the finale and setting that all up.
It won't be a rapid invasion. Unless time had already passed. Fuck Man. Can we not lose anymore berserk fans that don't get to see the series finish.

Well some characters from the past have returned I.e. Luca, so maybe those 3 have a chance
It would be interesting to see Jill

Griffith will switch back to complete monster as soon as Guts ans co ruin his attempt to be the Good King. The other God Hands are around as well.

Did nothing wrong

And how much was done with Luca? Just a flash.
