Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel

Are the Heaven's Feel movies making a mistake by removing a lot of Illya content?

Illya is considered the 2nd heroine in Heaven's Feel after all.

Without more Illya content, wouldn't it hinder Illya's important role in Heaven's Feel by making the audience feel less emotionally invested in Illya?

What about Kotomine? If too much Kotomine content gets cut as well, how will the audience feel invested in him as an antagonist?

What do you guys think?

Remember, there is no good end without Illya.

The has been 0 Kotomine content cut and the Ilya content wasn‘t either, just shortened. Still agree though that a bit more Ilya would heighten the impact of the ending. They really need to add more original Ilya scenes in movie 3 to make it feel less like an asspull than in the VN.

The main difference here is that this was made in mind of you having to see the Zero and UBW anime first, and that means unlike the VN you got Kotomine's characterization and Illya's whole past shown already.

So people should already be invested in them because the circumstances and adaptations that led anime onlies here are different than the VN in the first place.

I still think that even while shortened Illya works perfectly fine with how they did her in the second movie, even more with the added scene that makes sure she would do what she does later.

UBW should have been relegated to being a movie trilogy. HF is so much longer and more dense. It needed the sheer number of minutes that a 2 cour show provides.

The movies have already fucked up too much, at this point the best you can hope for is that they don't butcher the Day 15 and 16 scenes.
They were never going to be a replacement for the VN in the first place.

>Gil on the fucking poster over Illya
I'm still mad.

I'm sorry but this is just retarded.
Just because I know who Kotomine and Ilya are, doesn't mean you should just cut their screentime as well, it's not just about their characters, it's about relationships they have with Shirou as well, without their entire presense might as well be completely pointless.
One of the reasons why I prefer HF over all other routes is because it's actually feels connected to F/Z, and roles Illya and Kotomine have are in no way less important then Sakura's that one should sacrificed their screentime just because we kinda knew them already.
Besides, we knew about Kirei, but Illya don't exist as character in F/Z as she is in HF, and besides there's nothing shittier then exuse about how you need to know this and that in order to enjoy something, especially when it's not some obscure references, but actual characters and their motivations.

>unlike the VN you got Kotomine's characterization and Illya's whole past shown already
But the reason Heaven's Feel is so good is that it actually explores their characters as they are now. Kotomine is nothing like he was in Fate/Zero, he knows his purpose and has spent a decade working toward it. Illya was a literal child in F/Z and was just a mildly tragic yandere loli in UBW, neither of those were her true self and the movies do no justice to how her relationship with Shirou in HF changes them both (in ways very directly relevant to F/Z's aftermath).

>unlike the VN you got Kotomine's characterization and Illya's whole past shown already
Exuse me, but everything we know about Komotine goes straight from VN, same goes to Illya, Kotomine and Illya are both barely can be called as characters in F/Z, they become a complete thing only in HF, the rest is secondary and only reference that.

Kotomine isn't just an antagonist, but seem like a mentor for shirou in HF and he help him to discontruct his old ideal. That's the most interesting part about their relationship and we don't have it in the movies.

Their relationship in HF is far more engaging than Kiritsugu and Kotomine's relationship ever was. I like Zero but man was Kiritsugu and Kotomine's "Rivalry" poorly handled. I loved seeing Shirou grow begrudging respect for Kotomine as the route went on, which lead to their fight being one of the best in the series.

People who think Kiritsugu vs Kotomine is even comparable to Shirou vs Kotomine have brain worms

Attached: I like Kotomine Kirei.jpg (800x600, 103K)

Exactly. I hear people who like Kiritsugu VS Kotomine just talk about the visuals. Nobody talks about how "good" of a rivalry Kiritsugu and Kotomine have. Despite Urobuchi's love for creating rivalries between characters he never set up anything between the two. They have the same "nature" but we never see it explored. With Shirou and Kotomine we see them grow closer as friends, Kotomine even helps save him a few times. We see their similarities and differences naturally.

Why were the official subs so awkward sometimes? The camrip seemed like it had better subs and that was done by an user from here wasn't it?

It's a mistake because it's heavens feel. It was garbage then and it's garbage now.

God, Saber's sprites make me so fucking hard.

I never really wanted to wife/bone her but she's definitely cute when she's mad

Do you have her smug sprite? The one with the cocky smile?

Here's a cute Seibah for your troubles.

This one?

Based Gil makes it on the poster for a movie he has 3 minutes of screentime in

Hmm, not this one, she's in her battle dress in the one I'm thinking of. It's quite nice nonetheless.

I love this one, too. I think it was from F/HA.

>hurr wormslut is shit ilya and kotomine are more like heroines than her mirite xD
>Sudou: Okay, fixing that issue with the story, then. Cutting Ilya and Kotomine's unwarranted screentime, adding to Sakura and clarifying the parts that made brainlets misunderstand her while I'm at it. Oh look, the historically most maligned section of the VN is now the most popular and profitable Fate anime of all time.
>wtf noooo hf anime was a mistake!

>unwarranted

>clarifying the parts that made brainlets misunderstand her
You mean whitewashing the Shadow nightmares so the audience thinks she really had no idea what was going on?
Or gutting the knife scene by cutting it short before she tells Shirou to just kill her because she knows if she lives more people will die?
At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if they cut out Kotomine telling her to her face to stop playing the victim.

wormslut fags are way too retarded, so you might as well try to explain it like you were doing to a 2 year old kid.

>stop playing the victim
>when Zouken, Illya and Rin state throughout the same day that her personality was being warped and that she was losing herself bit by bit
>when we are reminded once again that Gil is supossed to be treated like a big deal for not being affected by Grail corruption
>when the only reason Sakura couldn't finish Kirei off is because she had to absorb Berserker's soul after he got killed, warping her further
?

Huh? What do you mean?

Attached: 73612223_p10.jpg (2804x3689, 2.1M)

>the audience thinks she really had no idea what was going on?
She didn't until Gilgamesh attacked her, which is what led to her conversation with Shirou in the knife scene. There, the both of them acknowledge that the shadow isn't truly her, with her wanting to die before she becomes one with it permanently and can't wake up from her nightmares anymore.
>they cut out Kotomine telling her to her face to stop playing the victim.
He was talking about Dark Sakura there, who only killed villains. Not the shadow.

>The priest quickly denies it.
>"W-What do you mean?"
>"I said there's no need to hide it. You are not another personality. You were swallowed by the mud and have become addicted to violence, but you are still Matou Sakura. You don't need to prepare another personality to excuse yourself."
>Her face stiffens.
>He's absolutely right.

>The girl grits her teeth and glares back at the priest.
>"What are you saying!? You're the one who made me like this…!"
>"I won't deny it. I kept you alive so that you would remain its Master. You measured up to my expectations, and you are about to give birth to Avenger. You have easily accomplished what I could not."
>"It wasn't easy at all…! You don't know how painful it was, how much pain I'm going through right now…!"
>"I don't know, and there's no need to know. I'm not so mad as to listen to a girl's complaint."
"The Grail made her do it" isn't an excuse. Grail mud corrupts Servants, it kills humans. The Shadow gave her power, the power to lash out and seek revenge on the world that wronged her. It did not make her into something she's not.

Yeah man so Shirou using Rule Breaker does nothing then.

>Grail mud corrupts Servants
Except Gilgamesh, as stated by Saber, Kirei and Sakura herself, because he needed more reasons to be wanked.

Don't try to use logic with waifufags, they're literally retarded and don't care the movies are mutilating everyone's screentime as long as Sakura Is portrayed well.

Gil himself said it and we saw it in the the other routes. Not even mentioning FZ since it came out after.

>Gil himself said it
Saber agreed with his words, Kirei noted that the mud couldn't pollute his soul while he was making his report on Day 8, and Sakura mentions that Gil couldn't be tainted while she was crushing Kirei's heart. So it isn't Gil just boasting.

Prioritizing the main heroine is the obvious thing to do, don't you think? If you want more screentime for the side characters, you'll just have to support Sakura and hope they'll decide to make a TV anime of the route later on.

>they didn't show Shirou's answer to Rider's question at the end

Sparks Liner High is getting animated as well as an alt end included in the bluray. Prove me wrong.

Most of the cut scenes for both Kotomine and Ilya are some of the most mind numblingly boring infodumps in the whole novel.
All the cut scenes, barring fully showing Ilya and Shirou going to buy weren't needed. Hell, the movie gave Taiga a scene and added to Ilya in it.

>Sudou
>Sparks Liner High

Also did you watch Spring Song PV ?

Soudou is full on delivering the sappiest Sakurafagging epilogue known to man.
I'm talking about "Sakura giving birth on screen while Shirou holds her hand" sappy.

Yeah, but not at the cost of everyone else. Kirei can still be saved in the 3rd movie, but Illya's scenes were cut pretty bad (same as Rider), and some stuff won't make much sense in the last movie. Heaven's Feel is as much as Illya's route as Sakura's, I mean, it's in the fucking name.

>The has been 0 Kotomine content cut
Didn't they cut the part where he attaches the arm?

>I mean, it's in the fucking name.
Yet most of her screentime is spent infodumping. Most of their good scenes happen in what's left to cover anyway, Shirou vs Berserker, jewel sword, explanations on avenger and how fucked up the ritual actually is.

They did, and cut most of his explanation on Sakura's worms.

>Heaven's Feel is as much as Illya's route as Sakura's
And that was a mistake on Nasu's end that Sudou is fixing. Ilya should have a route of her own, not some half-measure that just gets in the way of letting Sakura shine.

I honestly expect Shirou's surgery to be the prologue for the third movie. It felt incredibly odd to skip the scene where he wakes up with the arm, and the only mild explanation for what would happen if he ever took off the shroud.

But the arm will play a huge role in the next film, and a flashback would remind the audience what the arm will do to him.

>and the only mild explanation for what would happen if he ever took off the shroud.
The movie shows what happens if he takes it out and the next movie will have his brain going places because of it, so there wasn't really a need to show it, visual storytelling was enough.

Seems possible with how the second movie opened up with that reminder of how the first movie ended.
