After the Isekai craze dies out what will be the new thing everyone jumps onto?

After the Isekai craze dies out what will be the new thing everyone jumps onto?

Seems like everything has been done with Isekai route.

Even have a manga where a guy fucks his house into a skyscraper.

A.I, androids, and robots in general. Emerging new technologies will inspire creators to write stories about men abandoning 2D girls who are 3D equivalent for TRUE 2D in the form of cute androids, disembodied A.I/hologrames, or synthetic humans.

Attached: robot.gif (480x270, 752K)

Chobits already did this like 15 years ago.

Any new craze is better than isekai.
Even battle harems didn't get this ridiculous.

So what? They were Isekai type stories before the Isekai craze.

But the android craze was done in the early 2000s.
Plenty of anime jumped on that bandwagon at that time.
I remember feeling jaded by how much of that shit was being pedaled at the time.

>Even have a manga where a guy fucks his house into a skyscraper.
Holy kek,source?

the next route is going to be otome isekai
its already happening

He should be pouring magic power into the others too.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid already exists.

Isekai via gates.

I'm guessing alternative history. Let's just hope the new authors can actually write good protagonists

>high schooler harems
>high schooler battle harems
>high schooler battle harems in another world
It's all the same shit and the next fad will be no different. It just keeps slipping deeper into escapism.

I wish they would stop treating mid 20s characters as if they are middle aged...
That is the one thing that irks me in anime.

I guess Bleach is isekai then.

It sort of is.

slice of life in space with aliens

With aliens bought as slaves.

Attached: Onegai Teacher.jpg (1024x768, 198K)

Slime has the best protagonist in my opinion. Not a perfect character but to see someone who's actually a nice person and not just dropping spaghetti all over the place is so refreshing. I feel like so many isekai try to use the "down on the luck" trope to invoke pity on an otherwise bland and generally shitty person

How about an isekai without the auto translate?

That just results in time skips until a language is learned.

Battle Royale themed anime

Like Fate but with different styles and twists.

they usually have those characters so readers can self insert. and i've always hated them. Kind of like the pervert trope

Isekai won't die. It's a new established format, just like mecha. Expect shitty one offs to continue until the end of anime.

Attached: 1271320647877.jpg (184x184, 9K)

Native isekai is really going to take off.

Mecha is nearly dead.

We already have a reverse native Isekai that's a battle royale.

Attached: Doki_doki_Dies_Irae_club.jpg (1280x720, 125K)

has gate manga passed the anime yet?

Do it now. Just travel to Japan and just "timeskip" to easily learn a language.MC would be learning language classes with cute lolis in elementary.

I believe so.

>Native isekai

Attached: 1524273076033.jpg (460x274, 82K)

I want to see reboots of shows that went on tangents from their manga and LN source materials. That and reboots of shows that just did sloppily and gave watered-down presentations compared to their source materials.

One great example would be Tsukihime since the anime fell short compared to the manga and VN.

Another would be Deadman Wonderland which cut out a major character in the beginning and could not be continued after one season. The manga was cool and an actual ending.

Also, Trigun and Elfen Lied although Trigun was still cool as a show.

Kind of like what Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood did?

Isekai will never die because it's not even a genre, it's just a way to frame the story and only affects certain aspects of the MC's personality (and sometimes it's not even that).
You can literally write any story and add isekai on top. The only reason isekai feels generic is because everyone is following the same succesful formulas but I'm pretty sure those will stop working in a few years and they will find new formulas to exploit.

There is pretty much an isekai for everything even the trashy shit.

I bet there is probably even a NTR hentai isekai out there.

Warhammer 40k anime.I never even play the real board game.

Teenage pregnancy mark my fucking words

>implying its ever going to die

hot

40k Isekai Battle Harems. You know you want it.

Schizophrenic MC believes all the isekai tropes even though they are just in another country.

This. Fuck isekai for killing the mecha genre. We will never get another Code Geass because of all these self-insert NEET fantasies.

But we got another Code Geass.

Isekai is here to stay for half a decade more at least. There's a dozen isekai anime already announced and probably a dozen more on the backburner.

Your next mecha will be isekai I bet.

Yes! Exactly!

Knights & Magic was isekai and it wasn't that bad.

Mecha is the stupidest genre, so good riddance.

This is why isekaitards need their own containment board

>isekai mecha

I wish.

i wish

Attached: qcjrUsC.jpg (1764x2508, 917K)

We can only hope once it reaches its peak.

I tried reading this, i think by the 3rd chapter at least 5 chicks pissed themselves, probably a kink for the author.

I love Isekai's where the main character doesn't have common sense because how advanced he is, that "Holy shit" moment, doesn't even have to be because he's OP but by his knowledge or inventions. Any recommendations like this? The ones that come to mind are:
Mushoku Tensei (Jobless Reincarnation)
Kenja no Mago (Reincarnated boy that is found by 2 great magicians that adopt him as a grandson)
Isekai Yakkyoku (Pharmacist in another world, i swear i've seen porn with this style but can't find any)
Tensei Ouji wa Daraketai (Reincarnated boy that makes a contract with a black legendary beast and then a spirit)
Kamitachi ni Hirowareta Otoko (Buff nerdy guy dies and is reincarnated by 3 gods and research slimes for 3 years, always got a laugh when people find out his pain and mental tolerance that carried over because apparently it's traumatic as fuck).
Otherworld Nation Founding Chronicles (Again, MC is reincarnated into a forest protected by a gryphon and has to make a town for other orphans, MC isn't really OP at the beginning but his intelligence makes him stand out but becomes OP because blessings and shit)
Deah March to the Parallel World Rhapsody (Reincarnated into a game world like one of those phone games with 3 AOE clear spells, proceeds to wipe a map of high level enemies and becomes OP, pretty amusing with all the underage waifus he acquires)
Seirei Gensouki (Abused MC is transported to a new world where he keeps getting abused, manages to save a princess and gets to a high school to study magic)
Isekai Tensei Soudouki: This is the one where the MC is actually 3 guys, the noble young man, the nerdy chuuni high schooler and the gold loving samurai.

And a few more, read them all in the Mangarock app from my phone. Any other like that? Also, more famous ones like Slime and the Smartphone one with TV adaptions i already finished.

Attached: Autism.png (568x433, 122K)

Fuck off Abe.

Doesn't seem like Darling in the shitxx has made any impact so far

That's a good addition to isekai and others.

Attached: 1518140215077.jpg (1918x1620, 304K)

I'd say Moe and CGDCTs killed mecha

>"Seems like everything has been done with Isekai route."
>not expecting magical kumoko-chan and book loli to save anime

Attached: mahou shoujo magical ★ kumoko-chan.jpg (1000x723, 272K)

Are LNs moving away from isekai and on to something else yet? If not, is there some other medium where a particular genre is big right now that anime could mine for source material?

Comrade, what are you talking about? Do you not want to see out glorious leader not-Putin of not-Russia conquer isekai?

Attached: 3.jpg (1426x2048, 617K)

Battle Royale

Already done to the death.

>Schizophrenic reader believes it is isekai even if it isn't an isekai at all. He just wants to call normal medieval fantasy isekai because he is retarded.

Daily reminder that mecha is full of shows made for neets and their self-insert fantasies.

>his chocobo instantly becomes alpha among the other mounts
incredibly based

no it hasn't?

Attached: 1537884318117.png (309x861, 73K)

CHINK. MURDER. HOBOS.
Robots were a thing for over a decade. They aren’t a new hotness.

Not really moving away from isekai but otome/villainess isekai has been surging in popularity.

How can you even have a bigger escape trip then the story being about you, sent to another world and becoming a god?

>Are LNs moving away from isekai
Not really.

As long as publishers have popular imprints that harvest from narou and as long as narou doesn't change from isekai breeding ground to something else nothing will change and that is a very good thing.

I have already said it, the future is going to be One Room style anime where the protagonist is actually literally you

Attached: xO3HPE9.jpg (1366x768, 105K)

Altair is the best otome isekai protag

but you're the one who already has a containment board where you can sperg about Z Gundam all you want

Mecha was already dying before isekai, no one cares about your robot toys anymore grandpa

>>CHINK. MURDER. HOBOS.
That's not new though.

>Code Geass
>not a self insert neet fantasy

I am only in my 30s.
Both of my parents are on social security.
I even have a grandpa that was born in 1918.
Now that is a grandpa...

Guys. Guys. What if we, now stay with me here, got a resurgence into proper high fantasy?

you mean native isekai?

>Gundam x Isekai
would /m/ rio---
>it already exists (SD Gundam)
oh. nvm

Where the MC finds ancient ruins, created as a result of an isekai'd roman legion?

>Everyone can use magic, but you need to use spellcards.

Even Build Fighters was reverse isekai

the antagonist also gets isekai'd

You know, it's kind of weird that Yea Forums still has a mecha board. It's kind of the only genre that has its own board here, other than maybe counting cute as a moe board, or the porn boards as genres.

>Kuro no Shoukanshi
The MC is the summoned demon lord, isn't he?

I'm surprised with the overambundance of both genres yet theres still no idol isekai

I think isekai is as close as we're gonna get, since it's just how the Japanese shoehorn their self-insert characters into high fantasy worlds. I'd love a modern Lodoss (wasn't impressed with Grancrest Senki) or a good adaptation of Ubel Blatt though. On the whole, modern proper fantasy shows are mediocre (Seisen Cerberus) to awful (Chaos Dragon) though.

Attached: 00001.jpg (1126x1600, 347K)

Right now it feels like they're reaching back and bringing shit back from a decade ago. CG, FMP, Raildex, and others I'm probably forgetting all getting adaptations after having none in the last 5+ years. Think they may keep this up like how game companies are rebooting and remastering old titles.

Roman dude isekai-ed to the modern world to build better bathouses for the glory of Rome

Attached: thermae_romae.jpg (928x523, 85K)

to find the good quality isekai stories, make sure you follow these steps when searching for novels
>filter out the Harem tag
>filter out CN novels
>if it has 3 or more characters in the cover, skip it
>if the MC's body is a dark haired young boy, get ready to drop it after a few chapters
>if the story is stuck in one location it will ALWAYS get boring after 40 or so chapters (AKA any location building / master stories like dungeons)

anything else i'm missing?

Attached: 1550365869161.jpg (301x267, 55K)

Isekai won't truly die out until there are some drastic, sweeping changes to society, especially in Japan.
There's too many people wishing that they could be literally anywhere (or anyone) else.

most isekai so far had been only done between our (present) "modern world" and another generic fantasy world

what about being isekai'd to a futuristic cyberpunk world?

the premise has actually been done by Futurama (and countless other sci-fi works), but let see how the Nip cartoon industry do it

Attached: __original_drawn_by_w_e_z__293b204991482fcc5bc62ce96b30c584.jpg (1200x658, 998K)

Futuristic settings require more effort than modern or fantasy settings so the hack isekai authors avoid them like plague.

And publishers don't think anything but what's currently popular is worth the risk of being unsuccessful.

any work achieved that criteria will the an unique, one-of-it-kind isekai work

This actually sort of happens periodically, although in previous generations they were just full blown remakes or stand alone sequels rather than continuations. You have to time it right when the nostalgia kicks in and people have disposable income. The 14 year old kids of 2008 are now working adults with money they have no idea how to spend.

But pushback on the hamster wheel of replacing hit series with new stuff has some effect this time around. The lost profits on the anime and media mix side are starting to weigh heavily against the promotional value when you say take Index II's 12k average sales then decide to greenlight Heavy Object instead to give it spotlight and it shits the bed with a tenth of that and can't carry any games or anything even though you put just as much into it.

>It's GATE but instead they invade Emmeria

>Even have a manga where a guy fucks his house into a skyscraper.

Now this is an isekai I would read

This. The next flic would be written by AI according to everchanging trends, kind of like in 1984.

Is kingdom hearts an isekai?

Isekai idolshit, with harem.

Man those shoujo faces really don't mesh well with their bodies.

Attached: A15.png (2160x1536, 2.68M)

That's just time travel, like Inuyasha.

Mecha got replaced with mecha musume, which is inherently superior.

Attached: 1528450678977.jpg (1001x720, 312K)

Needs more gender bender isekai, which is inherently superior to regular isekai.

Attached: 19517v4.jpg (2016x2866, 2M)

Make an Isekai where the MC is reborn into a dildo and evolves into a vibrator and so on

If I introduce a tomboy love interest would it be better if th MC tames her eventually or if she stays tomboy throughout?

Attached: 1552904163472.jpg (1920x1080, 579K)

Sounds like a isekai hentai.

oh god please

Vinland Saga will usher in a new age of historical anime domination

Kenja no Deshi is just good despite the gender bender fetish trash.

Mostly stays tomboy but sometimes acts girly just for the MC is the best.

>alternative history.
Can't the original authors sue the new ones in that case?

Updated.

Attached: 1547006467167.png (1114x1600, 707K)

It sad that this manga a montly series.

From recent memory Battle Harem (early to mid 2010s) and Isekai (basically all of the 2010s) have been extremely prevalent. While I don't think they will die off completely, they will die down.
My guess is as good as any, but just keep your eyes out for the next industry trend setter. Pic related.

This thread is really fucking dead

At least the chapters are long. And it's moving fairly quickly, the first arc will be over in another two or three chapters.

Too many other isekai threads up right now. Most people are in the bookworm one.

I thought the bookworm guys were really pissed yesterday, that's why someone made the NTR isekai thread.

Not sure what I want from my story, where to lead it, and why I am even writing in the first place.

Attached: defeated.jpg (500x320, 22K)

Are there any idol battle harems?

The reason why isekai is so popular is

a. easy to make (just post shit on Syosetu and bam isekai)
b. Japanese audience doesn't really like the world they live in (so they imagine somewhere over the rainbow)

you to predict where Japan will go to next you have to predict what even will happen in Japan and what new monetization technique they will incorporate in their anime
