Last time, we checked in on Ema in the last bit of time before the YAGP finals. She first attended a workshop held by the John Cranko School in Stuttgart who had come to Japan. Miriam was also there and the two of them were the standouts of the class with the teachers already making moves to try and get Ema to join their school. At Ema's home her family talked about the financial difficulties involved in studying abroad and how they were doing everything they could to help her. When Ema heard her grandfather was selling off some of his land she called him in worry but was only reassured by him that the whole family was behind her one hundred percent and that she needs to continue to work hard. Her older brother Eito overhearing her, he asked how serious she was and Ema declared that she loves ballet and it's all she wants to do; her seriousness seemed to give him the motivation he needed to start applying himself for college. Back at Takimoto's studio, the younger students were wowed by Kanade's Diana while Mito mentioned that he had also attended the John Cranko workshop, was going to their summer intensives and would be auditioning there for admission. He also saw Ema and had his doubts about if Shouko could actually beat her.
Flying west to east is a fucking pain to be desu. Just the 6 to 7 hours from US west coast to Europe is alreayd enough to annihilate me, I can't even imagine a 12 hours long flight. Well, maybe you can plan it differently depending on the take off and landing hours, but companies are not always that convenient, though I guess going to NY you can have a shitload of options.
I really think it'd be for the best. Much as Kanade would want the Royal Ballet I just keep coming away with the impression that it wouldn't be good for her. It just seems too traditionally rigid in what it wants out of its dancers that I can't see Kanade thriving at all in that environment. Shouko would do well there but Kanade needs the freedom and exposure to all kinds of styles I think.

Well, Ema hinted that she'd be interested by the Royal Ballet too, but the Krauts want to put their hands on her first. In the end, it's possible that Ema will get the Royal Ballet. And Shouko nothing, as if I remember her parents want her to finish middle school in Japan before. As for Kanade, she's quite a rollercoaster so it's hard to guess what she wants. When in NY she really seems motivated by the Royal Ballet and Nichols, but before that she was full on genki-hormones for Marseille, and Garrel's speech obviously impacted her deeply and made her straying away from the Nichols path. So it's a bit of a coin throw concerning her own keikaku.

Even Kanade is starting to grow unconfortable about it here She'll be the one to be hurt the most if she fails.

Shouko's always been competitive and fiery behind her shrinking violet attitude. The stuff when Ema was first introduced and the initial competition came before the stuff with her father. She's just a naturally competitive and driven person and is in an environment where that's allowed to come out.

The problem is when you take off from the US east coast around 15h-16h, you land in Europe around 6h-7h, so you get to go on 2 full days without having a night to sleep. And, well, I'm the kind of guy who can't sleep in plane so it's always a pain. Then again, it's not like I'm doing this often either...

When I do head back stateside it's from Japan to NY, and a rest makes that... okay. NY to Japan is alright too, but mainly annoying since it feels as if you've lost a day (you have/going to the yes means going back in time a little)

Nothing about it as far as I can tell. Just have to wait until chapters start dropping on Mangadex or the scanlator posts about it on Reddit. Volume 12 just came out which, if following the 5 chapter precedence, should be chapter 62 which, from what I can tell of the raws, is about the end of the first round of though before results are announced.

I'm interested to see how Zi Xuan Lee is in a language I can read. The art alone makes her come off as... not exactly goofy but very emotional in a way that feels a little like Kanade.
Also kind of interesting that Chloe seems to be getting a lot more play than Maho but I guess Maho not being able to speak English kind of puts her on the outside of conversations around people who can.
