I am an anime only fag, I have heard a lot of people say that Johnny is better than Jonathan as a character. Is Gappy better than Josuke? Josuke is easily one of the best JoJo's imo and part 4 is one of the best parts. So remaking it so directly feels really lame to me.

Well it's pretty much a remake in name only, they are completely different stories. I think you should just continue to enjoy the anime, or come hop on the manga, either way, having some shitposters on Yea Forums half-explain the story to you is probably the worst way to experience Jojo.

They’re barely remakes at all, Johnny and Jo2uke are completely different characters to Jonathan and Josuke. They just share names because Araki likes callbacks. Part 8 has pretty much nothing in common with Part 4 except character names and the setting, it’s a completely original story and concept just sharing names and aesthetics with 4. Same with 7 and 1.

Gappy is a very different character than Part 4 Josuke. He's more amoral and aloof and has a lot more potential character depth than Josuke, but I don't really want comment on whether he's better or not until the part finishes. But, if you really want my opinion I'd say Gappy is better than Josuke, or at least on par.

It’s guaranteed to be at least 100 chapters based on the chapter numbering in the volumes, but even then I can’t see it wrapping up in just 16 more chapters so it’s definitely far exceeding 100. Plus last year in a Yahoo Japan interview Araki said that the plot was about to start converging heavily in the next arc (he was drawing the first or second Doctor Wu chapter at the time) but the ending itself was still very far off. He knows how character arcs should end and where he wants everyone to be at the end, but he hasn’t actually figured out how to construct the final arc yet and says it’s still ages away anyway.

Rai’s interests still lie with Norisuke so sucking up to the guy who’s been shitting all over his GF is gonna backfire hard for Josuke.

They seem to be doing them in batches of 5 volumes at a time and volume 20 comes out tomorrow so expect news some time soon I guess. Also why would you want to read the coloured versions? Notice how she was actively removed from the family portrait in the last chapter while Mitsuba was updated to her current design? Kyo still appears in the bios in the volumes so being removed from the photo has an in-universe reason for happening. The current arc is based around the hospital and in her introductory fight she was trying to stop Josuke teaching the hospital. He’s since gone there behind her back but there’s clearly more to the Kiras and this alto as well than we’ve been shown so far.

JoJolion isnt shit at all it’s great. It isn’t really an adventure story anymore as much as it a mystery story but it’s genuinely really well done and will probably be the best Part when it’s over. As for the anime, it’s a mixed bag. Part 1 was adapted decently but a little rushed, Part 2 was done really well and is considered by many people to be better than the manga version, Part 3’s adaptation was fucking shit, and Part 4’s ranges in quality from some Part 2 tier episodes and some Part 3 tier episodes. Part 5’s adaptation is still airing but 22 episodes into its 39 episode run it’s just as well done as the Part 2 adaptation.

Now that we actually have quality translations of each Part opinions are better informed. While personal preference plays a big part, it’s generally accepted that Araki’s writing improves over time and is still getting better to this day, but whether you like his newer stories more than the older ones is of course dependant on your taste.
