The author really needs to introduce some kind of overarching plot and drop the life lovers stuff. And the puns just don't translate and are pretty weak.
This chapter was better in some ways but worse in others. If the next chapter doesn't lead to a big improvement in the story, then I don't see this manga lasting more than 4 volumes. If it gets canned and Shibashii tries again, hopefully he goes back to fantasy action like Nurarihyon.

It's already trying to be a romcom. Just introduce an actual story and core plot as right now it has nothing. Yunna is about Kogarashi trying to help her pass on. Bokuben is about trying to help improve the two girl's grades. Yui is about nothing at this point.
The author should just make the plot at least be about Kirito's attempts to woo Yui and the crazy adventures they go on in the process. The author has clearly left in room for the story to be a battle manga if need be, but he'll need to do more to develop that part of the story too. An easy arc for him to do something like that though would be to have Kirito get kidnapped and Yui saves him for money or something.
