New main character's personality is essentially just being a 2cool4school stoic and the rules for how Stands work being loose as fuck ruins any attempts at clever fighting.

Part 3 is the most iconic part. But it's also the part with the most issues.

The Stands, battles and enemies are pathetic as fuck for the most part, there are many arcs with little to no plot or character development and Dio is brought back for fanservice.

araki tries to change things up every part. I didn't like him at first either but he's fun to watch

Iirc part 5 is the favorite of japs while part 7 is the favorite of western fans. Part 3 is the most popular one because it was the only one with an anime adaptation for a long time and thus was the first part for many people. It also introduced stands which became the thing of Jojo's. There's also another spoiler-ish reason, it being the return of dio who's definitely a fan favorite.
