Unpopular Opinions Thread

I like SAO and I think that it actually has a better worldbuilding and lore than people give it credit for.

Do not use my wife for this bait

Nano.Ripe should never do anime openings ever again

No wonder this is unpopular.

Better than Slog Horizon or Overbored anyways.

>I like SAO
Me too
>It has a better worldbuilding and lore
No. It's fine to enjoy something even if it's bad.

Isekai+Harems can be good with a good enough execution.
>OP makes an unpopular opinions thread
>Complains that their opinions don't align
Hurrdurr.

I like SAO but it's retarded a lot of the time, not excluding the worldbuilding and lore

You must be a LN reader, don't fucking bother with anyone else who haven't read it. They're not gonna get any of the boundless lore that's been spent developing the world of SAOAccelverse.

But this opinion is popular, otherwise Yea Forums wouldn't hate SAO so much.

Yeah I kind of understand that but it's not like anyone here aside from LNfags would know that.

Naruto was pretty damn amazing. Yeah, it got fucked towards the ending, but I just ignore it and it doesn't take away from the amazing rest of the series. I still rewatch it when feeling stressed

>It's popular to think that SAO has deep lore
Lol

Texhnolyze is trash with no redeeming value
Utena's pretty good but not a masterpiece

I remember seeing this on Reddit and how much overlordfags actually seethed to the point that they were saying the guy had multiple accounts.

>Reddit

Anime butchers most of that world building though

Yep

>I like SAO
>unpopular opinion

I thought K-on was a boring piece of shit anime. Would have been better if it focused on music more.
Yui and Mugi in particular ruined the show for me. Yui is just a little too retarded to be a relatable protagonist and the fact that she has magical savant syndrome and perfect pitch hearing makes it unfulfilling to watch her progress, we never really see her take music seriously or even get miffed about something, I just don't like having a protagonist with zero emotional range. Mugi is also a shit character who is only there to be a plot device.
Mio and Ritsu are both really good characters and have a great dynamic, though I think Mio being a scaredy-cat got totally overplayed especially in the first season.
Azusa is probably the best character in the show because she takes music seriously (in fact, she takes everything a little too seriously) which is a nice contrast to the rest of the group which is too laid back. I consider her the protagonist of season 2. Speaking of, the first season of K-on was fucking terrible. I dropped it when I got to the second beach episode because no good anime should have TWO fucking beach episodes in the first cour. I only picked it up again because I saw a ridiculous amount of praise for season 2, which was mediocre at best, but better because of the increased role of Azusa in the group.

Trash taste bruh

I kind of agree about Mugi. She's probably my least favorite character in the series. I don't think Yui doesn't take music seriously. She does have the savant thing going for her but she still practices and tries to get better, at least as much as the other characters. The show was a bit less music focused than I expected too but it's still got quite a bit of it and I like quite a bit of the songs and the parts when it is more music focused.

Though if I wanted something entirely music focused I would have watched Beck already. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed K-ON after having known about it for a while.

Agreed on texhnolyze

Shinji is really not that bad of a protagonist and he gets way too much shit for ultimately acting like a 14 yo would realistically do.
The show finale is overall better than the movie.

Just because > Tsukigakirei

MHA is actually one of the best shounen anime/manga at least until the 7 quirks asspull and Yea Forums only hates it to be contrarian.

>wow how could people think the unpopular opinion is unpopular

SoraYori was the best anime from 2018

Liking SAO is not an unpopular opinion

I liked the PSO2 anime (don't play the game) and am sad the new anime for it announced isn't just a season 2 of it.

Yeah, liking SAO is my unpopular opinion too. At least season 1 and 2. Wish they'd stopped after that.

That's not an unpopular opinion. As for worldbuilding, yeah but the anime butchers it. The people who say "SAO bad" are just ironic weebs regurgitating shit people have told them or people who hate most shows they watch anyway.

Thanks for telling us you have shit taste, man. We appreciate it.

its a decent stry till the end of phantom bullet. then it turns mediocre.

Don't use my wife to shitpost, nigger.

It's a shit show with shit production values. Horrible advertisement. They should get Kyoani to adapt the originals, now that would be good.

how the fuck do people watch anime lasting 100+ episodes? how do you even decide to get into, say, HxH

I like SAO too.
Recall pic related.

>worldbuilding and lore
Fags like you are why episodic storytelling is dying.

It's probably mostly stuff people have been watching since they were a kid. But some people I'm sure pick those series up after hearing people who have watched them as a kid praise them. I can't imagine right now picking One Piece up from the beginning (anime or manga). HXH isn't even that long comparatively. I only started it (the manga) a few years ago (might have been longer) I think just because I always saw it but never really decided to read it until then. But I'd been reading One Piece since the early 00s but just lost interest a few years ago and haven't picked it back up.

Baiting normalfags with shows like OPM, Slime, and Shield Hero into buying blurays and merch is a good way to keep the industry going, even if it's season by season.

>you can't have worldbuilding and lore in an episodic series

>He doesn't realise that episodic storytelling are the best way to to build the world and lore
Fucking brainlet

I think animeonlyfags are fucking cancer and underage.

I really enjoyed Griffith as a character and feel no animosity towards him despite Guts being my favorite character. I think that while the eclipse was fucked up, I think Griffith was completely insane and out of his mind when he started it after being in that cell for a year, and when he raped Casca he was completely Femto at that point, the Griffith we had spent that arc with had his humanity stripped from him and was dead at that point.
