She's the only actually good character from this dumpster heap of a show. I guess that was literally her purpose, to juxtapose someone more grounded and rational compared to the KAWAII UGUU TITTTIES AND THICC LOLIS.

Pathetic

It's a comfy show but Kobayashi is a calm and grounded MC that other shows don't have and not having that much blatant fanservice is a plus. Not necessarily trying to overstate her role but she plays the most crucial piece in a otherwise fantasy show because she's relatable in her everyday life and her interactions with the fantasy characters goes over-the-top only where it needs to be instead of constantly reminding the audience it's a fantasy show; this is where she succeeds as a MC. If I had to compare, it's kinda like knosuba where you have Kazuma act and talk almost like a self centered teenager but the point is that they both act in character (exactly what you expect) and personally I find that interesting because I often go "of course they're like/say that."
