Otani Kow is a genius, and Haibane Renmei is possibly the best soundtrack he ever did. I love the fact that it's basically all medieval/renaissance instruments, which makes it sound like all the music came from the world it's playing in. It's a small detail, but a really nice touch.

There is something really special about this one that no other has been able to do for me. An anime's world is always what mainly captives my attention in fantasy stories, especially when it's this well done. So I was really surprised that I was happy that such an amazing setting was overshadowed by the Haibane's story.
