a lot of the important elements of cyberpunk come from the 80's/90's pop culture and political climate, and it's now 2019 and things are different

There always is a market for cyberpunk. They just rarely do it right lately.

In cyberpunk, the grunge and control is fully evident so the viewer can see it.

In the real world, the grunge is off camera and the control is covered in glossy white.
