I can get behind this. Also reminder that Jolyne is best jojo

I liked 6 more than 4 and 5

see you in 2025

The ending for part 6 is actually so bad that it ruined the whole thing for me. It just felt like Araki wrote himself into a corner and then hit the reset button just to be done with his deadline.

There are "feel good" and "feel bad" endings in stories, but part 6 is unique in having a "feel nothing" ending. And yes, Jolyne is best Jojo despite all this.

It has an amazing ending, you are just unintelligent

Awesome non-argument you presented there. The ending where "everyone dies but not really" is a pretty unfulfilling one.

it's a bitter sweet ending and although it probably could have been done in a better way it's much more satisfying than having a generic protag beats villian ending and then the story fucking off to another universe for no reason with no real conclusion

...Or Araki could have just continued with an extra chapter to reveal if resetting the universe resulted in a better or worse one. It's not even clear if anything Emporio did caused the universe to be better or worse, ultimately making the efforts of the cast throughout the entirety of part 6 pretty futile.

>Villain obtains god like powers and resets the entire universe
>Gets defeated by increasing the concentration of oxygen in a room

Kino as fuck

I also want to add that we don't even know if Pucci was/was-not reborn in the new universe, so again, it's not clear if sum of the main characters's actions actually did anything meaningfully good OR bad.

At least in the way it ends, it just leaves the reader with the feeling that the entire story was pointless (even within in its own context). And yeah, that's grounds for it being a shitty ending.

well it was pretty clear that pucci's objective was to create a better universe overall the only reason jolyne and the others went after him was because he would do anything he had to in order to achive it such as killing people

The worst part was no Great Grandpa Joseph and his invisible loli

I hope Hiroaki "TOMMY" Tominaga does one of the openings for Part 6

Again, we don't even know if Pucci was reborn or not in the new universe that was just created by Emporio, which means it could potentially be an even worse universe.

Not even clarifying if Pucci was actually dead or not, or if the newly created universe was not actually part of Pucci's plan, or if the newly created universe was somehow worse than Pucci's vision... all of those things just make the entire storyline feel pointless. We don't even know if the main characters even did anything to make things better and we don't even know if they actually thwarted the villain.

It's just a "THE END" arbitrarily before we know if anyone's actions were actually meaningful.

>ambiguous endings are bad
unintelligent opinion

just because you're unsatisfied doesn't make it a bad ending

>Ambiguous endings are always good because they're avant garde regardless if they're actually a good fit for the story they're part of
It's pretty lazy just to call people "unintelligent" without making any convincing argument for the Part 6 ending.

Yes. It's an ambiguous ending, but not in a good way. Ambiguous endings can be interesting if the events of the plot leading up to those moments allow some reflection to be had on the whole story. However, plot events that remove discernibility and meaningfulness for the character's on-screen behaviors simply just mean what they have been doing for this entire duration of time was meaningless.

This abrupt "everything that you just saw was meaningless" comes out of nowhere at the last moment and there are no elements of "meaninglessness" or "pure nihilism" in Part 6 leading up to this moment. It really just feels like a lazy attempt to conclude a series that had too many questions to answer without hitting the reset button.

So sure. Ambiguous endings can be interesting, but Part 6 is absolutely not an example of one since we don't even know: 1. If the villain was thwarted 2. If things were actually better or worse. We just don't know whether or not the main characters's decisions leading up to this moment had any influence on the final outcome and I don't see how that presents any philosophically meaningful questions that fit the theme and tone of Part 6 (since it doesn't deal with any pure-nihilism pathology until this final moment in the final chapter).

Not all ambiguous endings are good and it doesn't represent you well when you just assume they are because "they're uncommon".

1. steel ball run
2. stone ocean
3. diamond is unbreakable
4. phantom blood
5. battle tendency
6. stardust
7. golden wind

Golden Wind is good, you must be a brainlet if you think Phantom Blood is better.

steel ball run>golden wind>stardust crusaders>stone ocean>battle tendency>diamond is unbreakable>phantom blood

Phantom blood is a masterpiece, only contrarians dislike it

Fuck stands

i didn't say all ambiguous endings are good, and they certainly aren't avant garde. avant garde implies new territory

Well forgive me if I misrepresented what you were saying when you assumed that I thought "ambiguous endings are bad".

To be clear, I don't think they're bad so long as they present meaningful questions and fit the overall theme of the story. Part 6's ending doesn't and just comes across as ill-considered.

1. Steel Ball Run
2. Golden Wind
3. Diamond is Unbreakable
4. Stone Ocean
5. Battle Tendency
6. Stardust Crusaders
7. Phantom Blood
