Well the reason I ask is because in Carnival Phantasm Fate characters and Tsukihime characters appear alongside each other. Not to mention they look the same.

Its far more complicated than that. Massive Spoiler Text Incoming.
KnK is the alternate universe. Fate/Stay and Tsukihime are in the same universe, with Tsukihime taking place directly before Fate. Hell Archer got his red coat from Ciel. The vampires in Fate/Zero were a direct callback to Tsukihime. An easy way to remember which one is the alternate universe is to remember that only one set of Mystic Eyes of Death Perception can exist. Shiki and Ryougi cannot be in the same universe.
So yeah, its the other way around, with some clarifications.

Carnival Phantasm is the "parody" of type-moon works and takes place in that Ahnenerbe place because its their stand in for a "bridge between the worlds" or whatever.
Don't treat Carnival Phantasm as canon, think of it as a humorous dig at its own series and characters. Its like a group of authors saying to themselves "Hey, what would it be like if somehow all of these characters decided to hang out with each other for fun".

Not true. MEODP can exist on multiple individuals. They're just so rare that they never exist.
Also, I thought that Tsukihime was supposed to exist in a timeline where human history was denied while Fate was in one where human history was affirmed?
