Shokugeki no Soma 303

mangashow.me/bbs/board.php?bo_table=msm_manga&wr_id=749149

Well....the chapter is shit as usual.
Another couple of chapters and finally I will be free from this suffering.

I can't wait to meet Joichiro's father, Soma's long lost grandfather, who was thought to be dead but actually joined an underground food mafia and was the one who CREATED the dark chefs. Man, next arc is going to be so hype.

I'm more excited for the part where it turns out he was working for the ancient alien who first taught humans the secrets of cooking.

I am fucking tired of this cunt

Attached: Untitled.png (452x654, 328K)

Pretty sure that this Megumi's final on-screen battle, and while I knew that she was going to lose, I at least expected to see some cooking along with the final dish result. She deserved to be in a better series.

Attached: 1549838542461.jpg (821x545, 53K)

This is the place where she belongs after this last arc.

Attached: 1551704674812.jpg (382x537, 67K)

>Truly disappointing.

Reading this image makes me sad.
I still remember the threads we had before the RdC, good and fun times.

Attached: 1548441538798.jpg (669x798, 273K)

I’m pretty sure that the cooking is done for. The rest of the series is going to be waving some knives around at ingredients, and then a finished dish a few panels later.

I'm amazed how rushed this is.

>I want my tosh back
Even when this shitshow gets the axe, I don't think we will.

It obviously got axed. They're just allowing him to end the story instead of "and their adventure continues".

I thought the axe arc would be next.

He might as well just fast forward to the end already. This shit arc is beyond saving.

>Soma is a cooking manga
>All the cooking is being condensed to two pages with no explanation of how it came together or what the dish even is
Why is this happening?

hopefully he'll get paired with a better writer

where is all the megumi talent and its immeasurable potential? have they given her a point of trust here too?
And before the end of the manga will she manage to win a serious match?

I'm sure he planned a big multi-year competition with the evil chefs, but after the backlash decided to cut it and fell back on the only crutch he knows - erina in distress

>Imagine if Megumi just curbstomped Asahi herself.
That would be a welcome twist.

>Souma I haven't told you this yet but your 10x great grandfather was actually the half demon chef of the Edo period
>Now unlock your heritage and defeat Asahi who gained the powers of Cory's dad during his time at the white house

why is it getting axed?

Manga wen to shit, wsj ratings are super low and its sales are in free-fall mode

Do you think we have it better or worse than Yakitate Japan?

Attached: x14.png (760x1200, 249K)

Is it actually being put out of its misery?

Fuck you for reminding me that shit series existed. Are all cooking mangas destined to become battle showdowns with supernatural elements?

God that manga truly was something else

Attached: x18.png (752x1200, 276K)

If Tsukuda really went all in then I might actually start reading again.
>What? Souma's anger at being NTR'd by El Hermano forced him to evolve! He's moving molecules around by telekinesis and directly stimulating the taste receptors of the judges!

We are not sure about the axe, but the pacing, the plot and the sales seems to point out that this manga is going to end soon.

Maybe will be so, maybe not, its just speculation at this point.

In addition, another 6 chapters are needed to finish another volume so if it is ending we will know in the coming weeks. Otherwise it will go on for at least 15 chapters or more.

Opss wrong image

Megumi reminds me:
Hinata and Orihime they are very strong mentally but they always lose the big fight,
because they are just romantic interest for the MC.

They win the MCbowl at the end of the manga
(the only big fight that the author makes them win).

I'm still convinced that Megumi will win Somabowl.

Yakitate stopped pretending to be a cooking manga really early on. It's a very fun gag manga.

Equally bad. I like Yakitate more though.

It's been given the axe, author was told to wrap up the story so he's rushing through all the horrible plotlines he had planned for the series and without any sort of comfortable filler inbetween we're getting extremely condensed shit smeared on paper.

Imagine fucking up your own manga this badly

Remember when Shokugeki no Soma was a cooking manga?

>I'm still convinced that Megumi will win Somabowl.
She won't, and I say this as a Megumifag myself. I don't even want her to since Soma is stagnant, and annoying. I'll always love early!Soumegu though.

Shame this shit is going out on a whimper more than likely because of editorial mandate.

Imao

?

I want my love Megumi end with alone life or marry with great gentleman who better than gary sue Souma lol

At this point I doubt we'll get any sort of conclusive romantic outcome. Things are simply too rushed, and there's too little groundwork, for anything other than Soma making Erina say his food is delicious, and maybe some vague implications that they might get together in the future.

Souma X Cooking is the best ship for Souma

or the manga will just end with souma saying "i still havent gotten you to say my cooking is good" but erina isnt angry this time around, she gets all dere and thats it. i remember when fans would talk about their future kid but i definitely do not see that happening. tsukuda should of had erina fall for him a long time ago.

There not even cooking anymore on this series, so cooking won't win Soumabowl either.

>Soumabowl
>a win

Cooking deserves better.

Seriously, what the fuck happened to Tsukuda?
He's been retarded ever since Azami appeared, but it hasn't been this bad.

You're right!!!

Someone please explain how does that claw shit work.

Tosh doesn't hold him back anymore

How many chapters until it ends?

No.

bad writing. i get that tsukuda threw any and all logic out the window, but a person cannot change the quality of beef. its depend on how the cow was raised.

Too many.

>tools are now reality warping
SnS confirmed to be the strongest jump series since Seiya.

Attached: 1523897822167.png (646x499, 125K)

2/3 more volumes max.

This panel summarizes post-Azami SnS perfectly.

Considering the manga is hopefully ending Im glad it gave me Rindou at the very least.

Attached: __kobayashi_rindou_shokugeki_no_souma_drawn_by_saeki_shun__6e25ce003e1ff91b342bd1cd63b9f8a7.jpg (878x1300, 889K)

>She deserved to be in a better series.
Literally this so much.

He already got the axe notice and rushing through the ending.

Just like shitty Bleach

>tsukuda should of had erina fall for him a long time ago.
Yeah, Tsukuda basically fell for the old romcom trap where he intended to have Erina win, but wanted to stall it as long as possible and made her a bitchy tsundere to do so. He then spent a bunch of time building Soma and Megumi's relationship so he had a girl around more often than the plot allowed Erina to be around, and to throw in some uncertainty as to whether Soma and Erina would get together. With the result that partway through the series he realized he'd built Soma/Megumi into a natural couple, and Erina was mostly an antagonist who barely tolerated Soma and it was difficult to imagine them getting together. He tried to fix it by forcing Soma and Erina to become friends, but it only partly worked as he still wanted to stall any romantic developments. Now it's time for him to end the series, and he has no time left to decently develop a romance between Soma and Erina.

Not counting chapter 303, the series needs either 6,15, or 24 more chapters to finish on a full volume.

No that was all on Kubo. He dug his hole.
Souma could have salvaged Azami arc if it went back to it's roots, not have an editor go 'Okay now make a legitimate villain group for our heroes to fight. It's no shounen enough.'

That one long Soma vs. Hayama match was met with bad backlash and Tsukuda tweeted about it. Saying how he feels its necessary to show this match and asked readers please stick with him so it's not as if he's shielded from any fan negativity/backlash. He most definitely received even more with the Central Arc since that's when the quality started to drop, and I think he just stopped giving a fuck. I wouldn't be surprised if he's blaming the fanbase for the ranks and sales dropping instead of coming to terms that he can't write for shit. I mean so much of what he's written with this new arc just seems like a huge middle finger to all readers, it's like the guy is punishing us.

>that panel of Jou completely BTFO
>EL HERMANO
>NTR shit out of nowhere
>MC literally being thrown into a garbage can
>Erina gets kidnapped
>side characters, even Alice and Hisako who ranked high in the last popularity poll, were shafted once again
>Soma mom is the mom everyone wants to know about, but we get evil mommy Nakiri instead
>Erina turns cold again
>Megumi loses once again to show how threatening the enemy is
>not even bothering with any cooking or dishes anymore despite this being a cooking manga

Attached: 1483045144406.jpg (335x371, 24K)

>>Megumi loses once again to show how threatening the enemy is
I really hate this.

>where he intended to have Erina win
he did state in an interview that he was more for megumi in the beginning.

Rindou was the shining light in the dreadful Central arc.

Autumn Election was really fun. I sad because this the only time we can see the side characters such as Polar Dorm members cooking.

>Rindou was the shining light
said no one. her entire character was underwhelming.

I said it, fucker, because she was. And even so, she was still fucked in the end when they cut her hair. I fucking hate that.

As I said to a friend, this shit is going to end the same way Kenichi did, with Soma looking at wedding picture with either Megumi or Nakiri with the phrase "but that's a story for another time".

Best girl shipped out on express this morning. Don't worry Sexumi, I'm saving you from what the manga has become. Please live with me from now on.

Attached: Best girl.jpg (680x650, 76K)

I can't read Mars-letters but I'm guessing from the pictures
1. They make a big deal about his beef being from America
2. That knife and fingerclaws somehow combine their cutting skills to perfection (even though I can't imagine those finger claws helping at all)
3. There looks to be something on top of the beef so he must have added something
4. He beats Megumi (which I like her but she has like a 0.100 batting average at Shokugeki

Welcome to Japan, character development is only done when girls cut their hair, and not through actually showing them as better people.

Adorable fish dissection.

kek. if it does come to that then i'm willing to bet that the girl he married will be blocked out by the sunlight or some shit like his mom, only her entire upper body will be blocked so we cant see her hair color or breasts then his kid (will definitely be a son since this is WSJ) that looks exactly like souma with red hair and yellow eyes will appear and say "papa, mama needs you to help her" and thats it.

Sad but true.

Will there be oyakodon?

Attached: Oyakodon.webm (960x540, 2.7M)

Its possible it was so shit I filtered it out of my mind, but why was Hayama vs Souma so hated here? I know Tsukada himself apologized which says something, but it never stood out to me as pathetically shit. Like, I hated Momo vs Erina more sorry I'm a newfag lurker

Don't give up, user.

>but why was Hayama vs Souma so hated here?
Everyone found it long and tedious.

Yakitate was dumb on purpose from pretty early on. Yes, it went way overboard and turned into complete nonsensical shit, but it doesn't compare to how much Soma jumped the gun.

It was long and tedious, with a forgone conclusion that also ended up being a cop out. It was impossible for Soma to lose as the stakes were "win or being expelled and Azami wins the series". It spent a full volume or so on the preparations and the match, at the expense of not showing how anyone else was doing for their matches. Then when Soma had his inevitable victory, he wasn't even allowed a clean victory as Hayama's loss was partly attributed to him not fighting for Jun. Then Hayama promptly gets expelled for failure, meaning Soma doesn't even gain him as an ally.

I still find it hilarious that central sent Tsuakasa against Isami instead of Souma who should've beeen pretty infamous at that point.

and then we finally see pretty much everyone got off screened and expelled except like 3 people

i just realized that souma never heard his dads "the secret to being a good chef is finding a woman" yadayada line cause he hung up the phone

Megumi lucked out so she could lose to Momo. Whats the fucking point.

If you believe the setup, Erina couldn't have won without Megumi's idea, but that's a crapshoot with how op she is already.

Yakitate never took itself seriously in the first place (note: Solar Hands). You guys mistook a manga that's supposed to take you through a fun journey to show the joy of cooking to a manga which main goal was to hook in horny otakus.

Yeah, I don't get it. They even sent the judge to heaven, literally, early on the series.

I don't even read this manga, but this complaint rustles my jimmies.
> It was impossible for Soma to lose as the stakes were [too high].
It implies that no story should have high stakes because the audience is going to play mindreader to know that no twists are possible.

Ideally, you should be so immersed in a book that you stop seeing it as a book, and stop spending your concentration on playing spot the tv-trope entry.

>Ideally, you should be so immersed in a book that you stop seeing it as a book, and stop spending your concentration on playing spot the tv-trope entry.
That immersion is ruined by dragging the event out for too long. Of course there are always some big boss fights in shounen that the MC can't lose and you know they will win, but they have to be executed well, make them intense and thrilling in some way. Pace them too slow, spend too much time on details and people will get impatient because they get time to realise they already know the outcome.

Based

daddy issues Erina > mommy issues Erina

At least things can't get worse now that all of the characters have been utterly mutilated.

>At least things can't get worse now
Stop, we say that every week and we're always disappointed.

It can always get worse. It's best to expect the worst, then be pleasantly surprised when it isn't as bad as you predicted.

>At least things can't get worse now
It can for Sorina shippers. Tsukuda can leave the manga as an open end.

no scanlation yet?

Not yet. Either the people that usually work on it are busy with other things today, or they're having a difficult time mustering up the motivation for this.

I don't blame them. I wouldn't have the motivation to scan or translate this manga either

I stopped reading this just before all the main character got on the Elite 10, but holy fuck the more I read these threads the more im upset with the writer.
What the fuck is he thinking? Is it drugs?

>O MY SPACE-WARPING CLAWS
Really, Tsukuda?
Some people say his personal cocksleeve got pregnant. She was the one who used to come up with the cooking explanations.

>She was the one who used to come up with the cooking explanations.

So the shit writer put all his eggs in one basket and had no backup sources? The writer not knowing or learning about important elements of the premise of his story sure is retarded. He couldn't find a replacement and he couldn't learn the cooking knowledge and apply it himself like a professional is supposed to do in case his supporting team is compromised. Despite all the fucks ups, the loss of detailed cooking is the final blow. That's the core foundation of the manga and with that lost, it's all lost. A failure he is. The characters and the cooking didn't deserve what the failure writer did to them.

It's out by mangastream.

What a joke

Attached: 07.png (917x1300, 510K)

Is my idea or Tosh is not giving a fuck anymore.

Attached: 11.png (921x1300, 459K)

we didnt even get to see her cook or even prepare the meat. what the fuck?

Honestly, Soma's face in the second panel represents all of us right now with this arc.

Attached: 12.png (921x1300, 388K)

>the quality of those scans
They don't give a fuck either. Literally no one gives a shit anymore except some shippers.

Original shippercancer here, I don't give a fuck anymore.

REEEEEEE

Attached: 17.png (925x1300, 477K)

>The power of Cross Knifes

Someone either end the manga or kill me. I can't stand this anymore

With how much people complain in these threads, my decision to drop the series near the beginning of el padre arc seems to have been the best decision I have made.

Attached: Taki_Tsunozaki.png (300x525, 188K)

Azami arc is literally a masterpiece compared to the garbage fire we have now

I fail to find words in the english language to properly describe what I feel for the current state of the series

Who else Doesn'tEvenReadThisButWantsToWatchTheShitstorm/ here?

I remember first reading the manga and even trying to imitate that "meat" dish that satisfied that urban life planner bitch that sabotaged all the real meat in the restaurant.

It was educational to an extent. I enjoyed seeing how Souma dealt with the disadvantage of not being able to pick out the freshest fish.

Now, what do I see? How can I imitate reality warping knives? Why can't I find any chef in real life that uses them? Is that a new technology that they made?

Grumble Grumble.

I'm sure that's all of us right now, user. The manga is shit now, but it's still fun to keep up that you can't help but watch how worse Tsukuda can go.

Doesn't this throw into the trash the 302 previous chapters?

Attached: 12.png (870x557, 351K)

>end the manga
It's already dead. These are just it's death throes.

>the knife gives it UMAMI!
I can't even bother thinking of a shitpost for this

Attached: UMAMI.png (921x1300, 417K)

Yes I imagine that's the case but I only watched like 2 episodes of the anime
To be fair I was planning on reading the whole thing when it was over but now that seems like a bad idea.

I can't believe I actually miss the days of O MY TOMATO SAUCE, at least there was an effort there.

What the fuck is up with Erina? Her character is everywhere. Last week, she's all cold and stands up to her mom. Now she looks like she's on the verge of a mental breakdown due to these mommy issues that came out of nowhere. There is no consistency with her character. Not to mention her backbone disappears here and there, just in the last arc she stands up to dad, but now she's getting shaken up by EL HERMANO. What is this?

Attached: 1509888671513.png (1440x1090, 1.74M)

To shit on Asahi's stupid power, I hope that he actually beats Soma, but when he uses his knife to make his next dish it tastes horrendous due to all the bad dishes Soma makes in his spare time.

END IT ALREADY TSUKADA NO SERIES DESERVES TO BE DRAGGED THROUGH THE MUD LIKE THIS

Attached: just.jpg (217x320, 19K)

Tsukuda makes her whatever she needs to be for the plot to move forward. She has no actual defining traits or character anymore, she's just a glorified plot device.

The author has an obligation of showing us how to acquire reality warping knives and take clearance meat from Walmart and turning it into 3 Michelin star steaks.

I'd say read before Azami appears. That's when it goes downhill. Though, I'm sure it's a bit acceptable to even read the Azami arc now that this is worse. Just pretend that the ending of the RdC was the very last arc of this series and that BLUE never existed.

>Just using MSG as seasoning

Remember Tootsuki?

That would be for the best.

It's 10 chapters happening all at once. Anyway, from Souma's "it's not just anger" and Asahi;s "only I can grant your wish" in previous chapters, it was obvious that Erina wanted her mom to enjoy food again, but since her mom discarded her, she wants to prove herself as the one who does it.
The dumb setup we should all see coming is that we've never seen Erina cook a dish for herself (since her mom shares her tongue) that made her go crazy, but Souma of course has. So it Souma can make Erina love his dish, then he can make Mana love it too. Asahi, btfo, etc.

This is not Erina, Souma was in an accident and this whole timeskip is just Souma delusions while in coma, beating El Hermano is just an analogy for beating his condition, he will wake up soon and we all will have our beloved Valentine Day Arc, I know it!

>Valentine's Day arc
user, it's time to let go...

Asahi is the collector but Souma is the faker. Who says a fake can't surpass the original?

Attached: unlimited cook works.png (892x1300, 670K)

Have there been another series where the author literally just shitted on every single character he had on his cast? I mean, I know cases where the author shitted on everyone but a few characters, but hell, Tsukuda even threw into the trash his MC, literally, someone post the page.

Fucking trash how Tsukuda had to center BLUE on some lame mommy issues. These two arcs have felt more like Shokugeki no Erina.

It's bullshit my wife never appeared again.

Is Umami Tsukuda's favorite word?

Japanese in general overuse Umami.

Dropped this shit quite some time ago but i'm pretty curious
Why are you still reading it?
Just to see how much more of trainwreck it becomes?
Or you just invested to much time on it to drop it now?

Funny how the criminal chef aspect is forgotten. Light vs. Dark chef bullshit aside, the idea of noir chefs only existed to create an enemy faction, and ultimately fodder for Asahi to absorb their powers.

not as badly as Americans overuse sugar.

>umami
There it is, his favourite buzz word

More corn syrup than sugar.

you mean high fructose corn syrup.
Well, one of them did just kidnap Isami a little ago.

> big bad strongest dark chef ever cooks some shit that is even better than Megumis who could instantly beat a top 5 blue chef, judges show generic good food reaction
> in many instances we don't even see the cooking anymore
> absolutely retarded ridiculous "cooking methods" like a guillotine
This manga is a derailed train that came to a standstill.

Beyond just scrapping it, your alien ideas are the only thing that could actually save it.

youtube.com/watch?v=g7sMRYqZGnQ

Sit back and remember when this series was comfy

Attached: 1457500921989.png (442x635, 346K)

Why did it go from comfy to shitty shounen?

Early!soumegu an absolute fucking best.

Attached: 0021-016.jpg (1066x1600, 319K)

Kaguya when

Wait is it really getting axed? Haha holy fuck, i dropped it long ago but it feels fucking sad watching it die like this, i was hoping for it to recover from Aizen at some point.

The manga's axed, Tsukuda has to rush through everything

>Tsukuda has to rush through everything
at least be consistent with your heroine

A Japanese scientist discovered the umami flavor. They are retardedly proud of it.

He probably has to end it within the next couple months. There's no time for him to be consistent with the characters.

>O MY CROSSING KNIVES
>O MY SPACE-WARPING CLAWS
>O MY MEAT-TRANSMUTATION
Tsukuda topped himself with this chapter.

This is just my speculation but they probably gave Tsukuda a fixed time to end it.
New manga that get axed seem to get a few chapters to wrap things up but since Souma had a solid serialization time and the sales used to be good they probably gave him 6 months or something like that.

Megumi should have won this one, this is bullshit. You can't change low quality into high quality with MUH UMAMI.

Attached: 1cc2042ba1d2080bf2ac5e0331f8312d.jpg (484x776, 161K)

Asahi has Nen powers. Only Souma can defeat him at this point.

Who is this character in the picture?

this, i even stopped and re-read the pages in which they explain the flavor and seasoning shit

Are his little X bangs supposed to suggest crossed knives?

O MY KETCHUP was the beginning of the end.

I think this is ending in 5-6 chapters and it will be replaced in the new round by Kishimoto's new manga.

goto from patlabor

I think so as well, everything feels way too rushed. It's obvious that WSJ gave him a clear timeframe and told him to finish the manga up by the date they picked.

When would you guys say this series peaked?

at this point I only hate myself for still reading this

Beginning all the way up to the end of Stagiaire arc. Moon Banquet is okay, and Azami starts the rapid fall.

Fuck this chapter, fuck noir chefs and fuck superpowers

Stagiaire, absolutely. The downfall begins when Azami makes his first appearance.

Autumn Election

Fuck everyone, I loved the RdC.

Thanks

t. rindoufag

>Why are you still reading it? Just to see how much more of trainwreck it becomes?
Yes.

Is this shit actually coming to an end?

>Erina's reason for was acting like a bitch during Takumi's match was due to frustration over not being able to please her mommy with a good dish
I wanted to give her the benefit of a doubt but fuck that noise.

Series should have stopped after Azami arc. There was no good direction to take the story after that.

Sometimes it's better to go in for the kill. Especially when everything falls apart.

I liked certain parts of the RDC (Rindo, Saito, Megumi and Subaru for example) but overall it was meh. Though looking at how it's turned out, I fully believe it should have ended there. It would have been a mediocre ending but now it's going to be a shit ending.

alicefags got btfo, hisakofags got btfo, dogfags got btfo, curryfags got btfo, takumifags got btfo, rindoufags got btfo, meatfags got btfo, soumafags got btfo, tsukusafags got btfo, megumifags got btfo, erinafags got btfo, the entire plot got btfo. im just waiting for tsukuda to pull the final plug and end the manga with no romance so shipfags can get btfo.

no survivors on this trainwreck

Attached: IMG_3003.jpg (611x611, 63K)

Do you have the Nisekoi edit?

Erinafags nor Somafags were never btfo. They both get a lot of spotlight. They're just done badly

The spinoff we deserve but will never get.

Attached: Chapter_231.png (882x1300, 489K)

You forgot one.
>SnSfags btfo

>They're just done badly
which is basically another version of getting btfo.

>For the final few chapters Tsukuda asks Tosh to get some ideas from his degenerate doujinshi colleagues from back in the day
>All the girls become sex slaves and the guys are killed

I didn't know Tosh is besties with Asanagi.

Don't forget the important thing BTFO. His career.

>you will never be a ripped chef who cooks delicious meals while flexing on everyone

when hisako soma became a thing through training arc

This Manga used to be good, right?

I hope Tosh gets a different writer to work with. One that can stay consistent. His art is too good to vanish.

Search for the Nisekoi otter in the archives and you'll find it.

Look, I just made that part up but I imagine at least a few hentai artists know each other to some extend.

i still cant believe how fast this artist jumped ships

I'm fine with this.

Yes. There were a lot of likeable characters and interactions along with comfy arcs like the Kuraage arc and learning about forgotten characters like proto-Megumi. Tsukuda could have easily done more of those things I have listed after the Azami arc, but for some reason he jumped the shark so hard. There's so much he could have done with this series that it still pisses me off. I used to collect physical copies up until the Azami arc and loved the little recipe pages on there.

Already invested in the trainwreck. Might as well see it crash to the end.

nigga you can't be this retarded, this shit is for paper

thats why i hardly buy on-going manga.

Where are the french titties?

>a FULL volume
holy shit

How much influence does Tosh have?

>claw contains magic umami amino acids
he literally just sprinkled the meat with MSG and did fuck all with the other guy's knife since it wouldn't even make sense to use
so the superpower didn't even have a point other than to make it look like megumi had a chance for like one panel
can tsukuda just off himself already

man imagine if megumi's superpower specialty in Hospitality was able to exploit a weakness in Asahi, so even if he won the match he'd get mixed PTSD flashbacks to his mom and how the food would cater to the childhood he never had

would honestly just as good as Asahi getting BTFO by Megumi

activating his power with takumi's knife will turn him into a homo and no longer interested in erina

It contradicts battle shonen imperative: the main antagonist mustn't show weakness until the hero confronts him.

I wonder if Tsukuda attempted to put any DIY recipes in the most recent volume.

I was hoping he would taste her dish and then have some flashbacks to his childhood the way Shinomiya did, but alas.

>no comfy spin-off focusing on megumi and her traveling adventures
>no takumi and megumi adventures in italy
>no soma and megumi adventures in alaska
>no megumi visting shinomiya in france
>no megumi training under hinako
feels fucking BAD

>Another arc center on Erina family problem and superpower are a thing now.

Thanks god that i did drop this trainwrech after the "adoptive Brother" thing.
Someone can tell me how Rindou and Eishi are doing?

Attached: IMG_20190306_232119.jpg (567x562, 33K)

dead

>Someone can tell me how Rindou and Eishi are doing?
eishi got btfo by el hermano

At least we still got nikumi, right?

who?

This. Yes.

if we didn't have dumb Noir shit, I would have it so Isami isn't captured and we get actual screentime for him, which was the most obvious thing to have put in the story.

Then Megumi would have her own, one on one battle against some dumbfuck.

I'd personally also switch so Takumi jobs to EL HERMANO instead so atleast there's some drama that Souma needs to get Takumi's knife again (Jesus I already feel disgusted typing that)

Megumi faces Erina which allows us some nice flashbacks to RdC and their yuri subtext friendship, and even though she loses, we get a few glimpses of how she's changed.

Fuck I don't know guys, the last 2-3 chapters have made me realized I was never a Souma/Megumi shipper and actually a yurifag. Am I trash Yea Forums?

I won't get btfo
Actually, I wouldn't know since I haven't read in months.

Attached: 57631124_p1.png (1346x1099, 517K)

polardormfags were the first to get btfo. jokes on you.

>Am I trash
yeah but so is the manga so whatever

Yakitate Japan never took itself super seriously and had tons of non-realistic gags.
Souma was grounded. Everything was just anime exaggerated versions of realistic enough skills like good taste, smell, mimicry and even shit like "taking yourself out of the ingredients" works too I guess. Even the Aizen arc looked like it made sense outside of his retard plan to somehow shut down every restaurant (as if anyone would follow that or care enough to follow it).
This arc has people cooking meat IN A LE EPIC WAY by burning it on a cooking cross or something with the main antagonist having nen stealing abilities. The story also now treats these abilities as amazing superpowers people had imbued in their knives so he can literally steal that French dude's vegetable skills or something

I'm telling you, all this cooking superpower stuff is a buildup for a toriko crossover

>implying anyone cares about toriko
the biggest flop to ever flop.

> And, some people defend erina
What a cucks

I miss what this series used to be

To be still drawing fanart of this series means you either have Stockholm Syndrome and can’t let go or you have irredeemably bad taste. So yeah, makes sense for her to like El Hermano.

Well it was nice as long as it lasted.
A pity, this was a good manga in the past.

>"Yes yes well done Megumi well done..."
>"HOWEVER"
>"Your opponent literally had nen. Tough luck"

Attached: azxs.jpg (652x629, 98K)

Erina returning to her old, cold self is by far the best thing to happen to this series since before Azami's introduction, which should give people a sign of just how fucking bad this series has become. Shame, since I really enjoyed the first few arcs.

Can't wait for the axe announcement to become official/public so I can break the habit of reading this shit and wash my hands of it.

Eishi jobbed to EL HERMANO offscreen and he took his "Chivalry superpower"

I'm not making this up

It's impressive how shit happens at the same time and now the manga is rushed to the end while the staff doesn't have the chef that told them what to write about cooking anymore.

You telling me if there was some fucking soldier themed chef who made prime cuts by shooting cows on meathooks from 1000m away and Asahi beat him would Asahi suddenly become a master marksmen?

This arc doesn’t have cooking. It has people juggling chainsaws and shit and then there’s suddenly a cake, a meat dish, whatever, and you don’t know what the dish even is other than REALLY TASTY UMAMI BEEF MADE OF CHEAP BEEF which is what exactly?

It’s somehow amazing that Yakitate, for all it’s retardedry, at least kept up with explaining bread baking and made an effort to pretend their bread wasn’t magically conjured in the air.

sure, anything goes at this point

even if mori no longer with them, cooking with chainsaws and MUH UMAMI INFUSED CLAWS CHANGES CHEAP MEAT INTO HIGH QUALITY MEAT and not showing the actual cooking but just a bunch of flashy moves shouldnt be the way to go. this shit is genuinely fucking bad.

What the fuck is chivalry superpower and how do you cook with it?

he has an extra long zester that looks like a sword or something

Fuck it, Souma x El Hermano is the best ship.

anyone bother with the weekly author comments? what has tsukuda been saying since this start of this arc? is he pretending that the sales arent dropping every volume? he hasnt said anything on twitter

I'm glad that Nikumi disappeared from this manga, she could had ended up as Takumi and Megumi.

People complain about power levels in Shonen inflating too much but this Manga exemplifies why you can go too far in the opposite direction by having no power levels.
Every chef in the series since the beginning has been able to make food judges orgasm from how good their food is. There's no way to actually show how one chef is any "stronger" than another since they can all just make judges go "wow this tastes so good!" and you wind up having to do stupid bullshit to make characters look strong, which quickly gets old.

Why would anyone want to publicly acknowledge the fact that their work is failing and they'll probably lose their job soon?

not that but i remember when souma vs curry was going on and he gave out a message about how he needs to draw this match and everything cause it was going well with readers. i was wondering if he said anything like that in the weekly comments.

every week it just says
"I don't know either"

it was not going well*

I can't wait to see Asahi grab a bunch of dirt from the floor and mix it with concrete and through the power of osmosis turn that into the finest sharks fin soup.

I just remember that when the RdC was about to end they announced an editor change on the author's notes and it went from bad to absolute shit almost inmediately, rushing through the end of the entire fucking thing after 2 years of the entire Central arc and going straight into this dumb bullshit.

Tsukuda is an idiot but the new editor is some shit too.

But wasn't that the point of "cooking a dish only I can make"?. To make the cooking about creativity once every character reached the skill ceiling?

>I think this is ending in 5-6 chapters
that's way too fast.

While there's no established power levels, the manga definitely has a recognized cooking hierarchy. There's a clear reason as to why nobody bothers discussing whether Souma can best someone like Shino or Jou in a match because it's well established that they're much more proficient at cooking and are among the cream of the crop in terms of chefs in the world.

what if the series just ended one day
maybe mid battle, they just stop putting out new chapters and never speak of it again
pretend the whole thing never happened or existed

If I had to describe how shokugeki is now I'd have to say it's like having a close relative dug out of a grave and then paraded around the city on strings like a fucked up marionette

This ain't getting axed. The arc will end up with Soma waking up to it being a dream all along just the first day of his second year.

>volume 20 with its blatant Souma x Erina shows an increase in sales against the downward trend
Give the people what they want already.

Did he use MSG?

Jump can be unforgiving in cases like this one. It could be transferred to GIGA and finish there.

from worst girl, to best girl, back to worst girl

Reading the manga after watching the anime, I was surprised there was a time when the author teased Megumi liking Souma. The anime cut that out, and the series has never really gone back to it.

Attached: ch61.jpg (800x1141, 241K)

>the same as Gintama
I don't think Tsukada has the clout that Gorilla does, especially in the industry itself.

>Erina returning to her old, cold self is by far the best thing to happen to this series since before Azami's introduction
Your opinion is trash.

RIP

>Entire arc is about criminal chefs
>The most they do is just use weapons to cook

Why the hell are they "dark chefs" if the most they're doing is cook for shady people?

You know what would be interesting? Have Soma and company fight against chefs who are actually shit. Maybe have one who steals endangered animals and uses them to cook exotic dishes. Another laces their food with drugs to make an otherworldly experience. Hell, have a dark chef who prepares a meal for Soma to try, only to tell him afterwards that it was the remains of a mob boss who didn't pay him for his services. That would be more villainous than "guy is cooking Kirby".

>I was surprised there was a time when the author teased Megumi liking Souma
tsukuda stated in an interview that he was more for megumi in the beginning

its sad how this isn't even a big deal, remember all the megumi flame wars in the threads? here we have megumi getting BTFO, and nobody gives a shit either way, because the series sucks and everyone gave up. what a dump

isnt this that dog's gimmick

I hope soma calls out how fucking stupid this whole "Super Powers" bull shit is.

>tfw picked series up when the elite 10 got revealed, and the festival arc
>those were the last moments before the beginning of the end
weird feelings

so why did tsukuda feel the need to introduce azami anyway? what was wrong with just continuing what he'd been doing before? the obvious progression was souma vs kuga in a shokugeki; why didn't he do that?

idk man I'd say the characters we got now do a pretty good job of being shit

why even have megumi here, its just humiliating

so he literally just sprinkled MSG on the meat? why is this being touted as impressive

How is it humiliating? That win should have been hers. What Asahi pulled with the meat makes no fucking sense.

Attached: don't get it.jpg (277x289, 30K)

well yeah, we all knew she'd job to him in some obnoxious fashion, so why even bother

>no fucking sense
okay brainlet let me break it down for you since you can't comprehend tsukuda's mastery of the art
>asahi uses cross knives to multiply the power of the cooking skills provided by the knives he won
>the theme ingredient is cheap cuts of meat reusing the idea behind the convenience store match because the author is creatively bankrupt
>megumi gets a couple panels of looking like she has a chance because monarch's knife is for expensive ingredients and doesn't make sense to use in this fight
>asahi swings his knives around enough to obstruct the food because neither tsukuda nor tosh even know what cooking is supposed to look like with their chef advisor gone
>offscreen, asahi dusted the meat with fancy MSG, which turned it expensive allowing monarch's knife to work
>megumi serves what appears to be a brownie containing M&Ms
>erina demonstrates having no will of her own
>sales continue to drop
got it now?

We knew Megumi was going to lose to this faggot. Come on, this is the same dude who defeated Jou and Tsukasa. It'd be an asspull if she, by some miracle, did defeat him. I can rightfully blame Tsukuda here for making her seem important and invite her to BLUE only to get her ass beaten AGAIN. It's not any much different from RdC where Rindou passed her and Takumi and made her lose her match vs. Momo only for Erina to save her. It's much worse cause like I said, this time we're talking about a literal Gary Stu with ridiculous superpowers compared to a mere non important E10 member who only specialized in desserts.

In an alternate timeline where BLUE wasn’t shit, her win against that noir chef in the last chapter would’ve been built up properly and actually feel like a hard fought accomplishment.
Could’ve been a nice underdog story but ended up being wasted potential as usual.

if Blue is supposed to have the best chefs under 35 or whatever, don't you think there would be a lot more alumni showing up instead of just some of the current students, some jobber nobodies, and the bad guys from akame ga kill
like where's the veg guy

I WOULD RAGE IF I HAD TO WITNESS SHINOMIYA LOSE TO THAT FUCKING FAGGOT ASAHI

it'd be bad but not as bad as jou losing to him
the arc pretty much started off on the shittiest development possible

Fuck you, Toriko was the SHIT and the threads were superbly comfy.

>putting effort into introducing and fleshing out Totsuki alumni
Nah, that’s too much work.

Suddenly, Jou's decision to drop out of BLUE due to a mental breakdown doesn't seem like a mistake

imagine being tsukuda and telling your editor that you want to follow up your erina damsel in distress arc with another erina damsel in distress arc
now imagine instead of him telling you to fuck off, he says go ahead
like yeah he's a hack for even coming up with the idea but the editor's not innocent either

We have no idea how much the editor plays into all of this. For all we know, Tsukuda could be ignoring his criticism and help.

Probably has something to do with the vast majority of Erinafags vanishing into thin air

Isn't this scene a rehash of the time Souma showed up, when Azami was making Erina feel bad at her own restaurant?

It's the opposite. Asahi has shown that he really does need the knives to be able to replicate those abilities. He cannot pull that shit on his own.
Souma, on the other hand, does own the shit he's learned - or did, considering lately he's reverted back to Yukihira's menu (unless the twist in the story is that the Yukihira Secret Menu doesn't actually exist, or at least isn't a set menu but Souma making up things on the fly).

The fact that doromame has gone to ship those two goes on to show how shit this manga has become, how poorly Souma has been handled as a character, and the fact that she wants shoujo manga developments (her portrayals of Erina and Asahi are very out of character, not that her portrayals of Souma and Erina were ever on character either).

He's had 3 editors by now. That says a lot.

An editor is supposed to be there to prevent a mangaka to shit on his own series. Not that that always work looking at plenty of examples, but in SnS you just cannot feel the presence of an editor.

Attached: 19.png (929x1300, 359K)

This would make a tiny bit more sense if he had some cast iron pan made of steel folded a billion times and used for centuries so it is super seasoned. he literally just has a knife, it doesn't even effect the flavour

>tfw Megumifags win when it turns out Megumi's motherly gift is the best shokugeki power

>Erina shows a moment of weakness towards Asahi
>Soma rises up to Asahi in the last panel as if he plans to have a match with Asahi again in the next chapter
That page comes off as suspense that Soma is going to have a match with Asahi again despite losing to him chapters ago. What, so now he's going to have a random powerup against him this time to defeat him? There wasn't even any training before BLUE it just happened instantly

She was never worst girl and she is still hot no matter what.

I don't know much about gastronomy, but is Umami really that much of a big deal?

It's the katana of cooking

Imagine if someone just takes Asahi's knives and throw them away a la Weevil. It'd be the perfect karma for a faggot like him whose group plays dirty.

Imagine if someone just takes Tsukuda's storyboards and throws them away

>Tsukuda
>any form of storyboarding
lmao

>hot
Seems like an ice queen to me buddy. I think you like being cucked.

Attached: Erina Perfecto.png (1164x2104, 1.8M)

Would be a blessing but this . Yea Forums could write a better arc than this shit.

I just caught up to this after Azami's arc and what the actual fuck, I can't remember the last time I've seen such fast drop in quality.
Just what happened here?

Personally I think it's half bullshit

scrambling, panicing writer who doesn't know how to control himself and jumped the shark at every opportunity. Azami was ridiculous but somewhat feasible, up until the last fight. Them winning was a bit of a given and they reasoned it well enough, however, making Erina headmaster easily was the death knell of the manga. It made far less sense than Azami overthrowing tootsuki and him having such influence in the cooking world, and totally removed the ceiling, making any progress that followed feel contrived and forced. Senzaemon should have returned as headmaster, Erina First seat, Soma Second seat, and let their highschool years play out. Thing is Azami was a terrible decision overall and by the end they knew it wasn't long before it would be over.

This is them milking the dead corpse for what they can. I only read to appreciate the dumpster fire it has become.

In the manga it is, but it's a real thing in real life.

umami is just savory

>it's a real thing in real life.
That's what I meant with half bullshit.

is he panicking though or is he enjoying pissing people off
like for takumi's battle there was no reason not to just let it be a brother combo
the random kidnapping side plot to force soma there seemed like a deliberate fuck you to everyone reading

>is he panicking though or is he enjoying pissing people off
I personally believe he's doing this intentionally after the how poorly received Central arc was. It's even more embarrassing because I remember reading somewhere that he planned Central early on in the series, and yet it still turned out as shitty as it was.

Not quite user, umami causes deeper stimulation in the brain than the other tastes (aside from maybe sweetness and the instinctual aversion to bitter) and adds a new dimension of complexity to gastronomy as maxing out umami (and there are many different kinds of it, too) and other flavors is tough.
It is actually being seriously researched, look at
>ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=umami
1062 hits. It has relevance in medicine, too.
Also refer to Zhang Y et al. for a review of new umami components discovered.
>ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27926796
However, for your everyday chef umami is just the reason why tomatoes/shrimp/parmesan/fish/meet tastes great.

>chainsaw "knife"
Remember when students got expelled for using scented shampoo? Yeah.

I haven't read this manga in a long time. Last time I was here, everyone loved her. What happened?

Reverted her character and repeating the same arc

>Remember when the manga was good
it's been so long, we were all different people back then

Funny how nobody thinks that both Tootsuki and the WGO being owned by the Nakiri family isn't a huge conflict of interest.

Tsukada still had some options after Azami went down. Anything other than dark chefs, el hermano NTR, superpowers, and locking the side characters in a cage again.

Now that this manga is axed, does that mean Tosh will return to drawing porn?

I wonder what Mana thought when the WGO sent tasters for the RdC, if it even got to her.

Character regression. She got kidnapped by the current villain who basically challenged her to a shokugeki wherein if he defeated her in the big cooking tournament BLUE, she would marry him. After he pissed her off by telling her that he was behind some problems she and the school had been dealing with but he'd been going easy on her, she excepted his bet without demanding anything in return. BLUE started right after that with Soma, Megumi, Takumi, Tsukasa being among the other entrants, while Erina and the villain Asahi got to skip the preliminaries Soma and company had to go through. Despite specifically not being otherwise threatened by the villain, she apparently went straight to BLUE with him rather than return to Tootsuki. It's been days now and she's apparently told no one that Asahi kidnapped her, despite her having the same freedom of movement as all the other contestants. She's ignored and blown off her friends when they've tried to talk to her, and she shit talked Takumi for wanting to face her 1v1 in the match that knocked him out of the tournament. Also it turns out her long missing mother is the head of the organization running the tournament, has the God's Tongue as well, and it turns out Erina has as many mommy issues as she had daddy issues.

>Thing is Azami was a terrible decision overall and by the end they knew it wasn't long before it would be over.
Central was a terrible decision indeed, but by the end of the RdC, even with the horrible development of making Souma 1st Seat and Erina the Headmistress, there was still hope for better things to come, as people were expecting the manga to return to its roots.
However, all hype ended the moment the Noirs were introduced, and if there was still any hope left, it was destroyed when El Hermano made his appearance.

>She's ignored and blown off her friends
To be fair, she did that after her mother pissed her off. She was in an emotional moment, and there's also the fact that Souma and Co. were listening to her and her mother's conversation, when they shouldn't have.

>Meat-centric chapter
>Nikumi is nowhere to be found

What the hell happened to this series

>Yeah, if only we had a chief that can beat multiple chiefs in one match
>I mean, something like a demon that could win a 1 VS 50 Régiment de cuisine

This passage triggered me in to the point I really want to stop reading this fucking garbage. And god how it hurts to call one of my favorite manga "garbage".

Attached: firefox_2019-03-16_09-06-55.png (769x573, 401K)

I'll just pretend this shit ended when Souma made Erina eat that deep fried soft boiled egg. Wasted potential

Asahi is going to cross-knives Tsukasa's and Jo's knives when he loses to Soma, thus allowing Soma to beat all 3 of them at once.

wow this art just doesn't look right

>injects E621 into his dish
>world's best judges are speechless
Please Morisaki come back i swear we can handle another pajeet arc just not this

Attached: 1507942806035.gif (720x720, 1.87M)

She was doing it even before then. Right after Tsukasa's match with Asahi, she bumped into Soma. Despite that she'd been sending Soma and the other elite 10 out after the Noirs, despite having been kidnapped and learned that Asahi was the leader of the Noirs, despite that apparently being the first chance she's had to talk to one of her friends since she'd been kidnapped; she blew off Soma and walked off with hardly a word. Instead of you know, discussing the problem of Asahi like Soma was attempting to do, or telling Soma that Asahi was the leader of the Noirs and had kidnapped her and wanted her to marry him - even though that's information that to the best of Erina's knowledge Soma doesn't know.

Attached: 019.png (892x1300, 241K)

Hope this dude saved enough money cause he aint getting another writing gig any time soon.

Attached: back to tollbooth.jpg (334x336, 15K)

But even in the page you posted she looked distressed. She left Souma there because she was clearly worried about something. As for why she hasn't shared the details of her kidnapping and shokugeki with her friends, that might be because she sees it as her own problem, and doesn't want to drag the rest into it.

anyone else sick of how asahi's cartoony appearance is always drawn with his eyes completely black

She;s internally panicking because Asahi 3-0'd a new and improved Tsukasa that took all of her and Souma's ability to beat.

All of that would be part of the regression of her character from the RdC where she got the help of other people in dealing with her father, and learned it was okay to do that. It's particularly ridiculous as the Noirs were the problem of Tootsuki in general and she'd been sending Soma and the others after them. But now that the leader has shown himself and wants her in particular it's solely her problem? Not to mention his backstory gives him reason to have a grudge against Jou and Soma, and to Erina's knowledge Soma knows nothing about that either.

why can't erina just tell him to fuck off
it's not like this is saudi arabia

That, and probably his OP ability.

Yes and no, she learned she could trust others, but this probably isn't necessarily an issue of trust, but simply not wanting to draw her friends into her own issues again.
Furthermore, if she thinks Asahi may have a grudge against Souma, then all the more reason why she wouldn't want to involve Souma in this,
Then there's also the issue with her mother. She probably wants to create some dish that would make her mother happy, but this is yet another personal issue of hers.

Also consider she's Japanese. Sharing your problems with others is something the Nips don't do That's something that's frowned down upon.

It's worse. This is a bad written manga.

that would be a hell of an insult to tell someone
>hey, the story you wrote is worse than living in saudi arabia
there's no recovering from that one

>Without any of the sweat of practice!
It literally just works.

Like, we've known that Asahi's Cross Knives bullshit is magical nonsense from the beginning, but it really puts things in perspective when it's coming from the character's own mouth.

you'd think they would be pushing the idea that the merit of a cook is based on his own skill and not his reliance on his tools
they'll probably make a note of that when asahi loses but the fact that he's gaining real superpowers at all from the knives is beyond bullshit

Asahi making it that far without any skill is just a shit on the face over everyone but the one who beats him.

Remember this Yea Forums?

Attached: D1vgkgjWwAAQjc1.png (653x409, 498K)

Remember when these fuckers had to go to class?

I remember that my favorite characters never will be relevant again.

Fuck you for making me remember why I watched this series

>you now remember the fuwa-fuwa soumabowl user
fucksake

I started reading manga for this anime

Attached: 1537339817170.jpg (529x470, 25K)

What a faggot

The events that leads to the cutting of hair is the character development, retard. The very idea that you have to show people getting "better" for it to be character development is youtube and tvtropes stupidity.

This is even between we get into showing how stagnacy is development, but that might be too difficult for brainlets to wrap their heads around.

Are the buttons exactly on top where her nipples at?

Remember when the dishes mattered because we saw what went into them? Preparation, experimentation, meeting up with people who specialized in other fields to learn new things?
Remember the polar star dorm? Remember Meat?

I still don't get why this shit hasn't been axed yet, is it still popular despite trying hard to be one piece with cooking ?

it is axed, they just let the author rush to the ending ala bleach

atleast Bleach was Meme trainwreck and still fun, Shokugeki is just painfull to read

Attached: 1542009227120.jpg (634x625, 20K)

Erina getting mommy issues out of fucking nowhere is not character development. It's just another shit on her character.

Sorry, I think this page just gave me an aneurysm. I dropped SnS around chapter 20, but it was more me being salty about Tosh. It looked like an okay manga back then.
What the fuck happened? For how long has the manga been literally trying to ape HxH?

You telling me dry aging a meat in 30 seconds isn't enough realistic for you?

Imagine if Megumi just straight up won against that fucker!

>. Another laces their food with drugs to make an otherworldly experience
Sounds like that episode of Futurama with bender and LSD

Never understood why she had so much fans.
It's not like there aren't better contenders to the best girls title, even if flawed.

it either got axed or it's because of morisaki leaving

I think it`ll end worse than Air Gear (from racing manga to battle shounen)

Attached: Air-Gear_air_gear_ikki_crow_cover_promo_anime_bentobyte-1140x500.jpg (1140x500, 190K)

Her mommy issues come out of nowhere,no foreshadowing,no hint.
Erina is now a non-defined character because from a chapter to another she change behavior as you change underwear.
She is what Tsukuda needs her to be for the plot to move on.
Her define trait is to be a victim because of her father and now for asahi e Mana.
Also about your statemant that she is japanese so she doesnt like to share her problem sorry but i dont think you can apply this here.
There are people that are like that IRL , that doesnt like to share some problem, but she was kidnapped , forced to make a bet ecc... and still she didnt mention anyone about these things and now you come to tell me that this its the fault of her the mother's situation when up to three chapters ago we didnt even know about her presence? I call this being naive and stupid and as well as having communication problems something that she shouldnt have now being the headmaster of the most prestigious school of japan, but even thast was a stupid decision.

I never finished it. Last thing I remember was Benkei losing a leg. How much is after that?

BLACK MARKET RICE

Wait never finished the central arc what happened to Erinas dad?

I'm genuinely surprised at how bad this series has gotten. Why did they suddenly decide to erase all of Erina's development as a character to make her NTR bait for this new Gary Stu villain? I genuinly hope Tsukuda's career is over after this dumpster fire finishes.

Erina and Hermano are made for each other

I miss Pajeet and I miss Azami

>actual discussion of this series
Clearly Tsukuda's doing something right in his madness. Maybe a month or so ago threads wouldn't make it past 50 posts.

>retarded Cross Knives ability on full display
>Megumi jobbing to a character nobody likes
>Erina’s character being all over the place
It’s like the author took the chapter where Tsukasa jobbed to Asahi, repeated it, and packed it with even more shit than usual.

Is anyone going to watch anime S4 if somehow it happens?

Oh My God, what i'm looking at......someone explain me what happen to this series.

No way is that getting funded. Producers would rather focus on a new popular Jump manga like Act-Age or Jujutsu Kaisen.

What's wrong user? Don't you love edgy dark chefs?

Attached: 1539348229629.png (1807x1300, 1.04M)

>plays you off as this chef that is going to improve over the course of the manga
>it all actually paid off during the Hot Springs Investigation when all you did was defeat a lackey of a big group but it also showed how much you improved since you became E10
>still make you a worrywart instead of confident cause idk you forgot that your role is to be a moeblob i guess
>invite you to BLUE over the other characters like Alice, Dog, and Curry cause idk main character privilege i guess
>make you show skill and confidence for a few panels before wanking Soma again afterwards
>after like 5 or so chapters of being a cheerleader or being a worrywart, you finally get your moment to shine again
>gets your ass beaten by the Gary stu anyway because you forgot that your real role was to be a stepping stone to make the opponent look more threatening
I hate that I have to say that about my girl but it's just amazingly embarrassing. I know it's Tsukuda we're talking about but how can you be this retarded about developing characters? Has he not read a book in his life?

Ahahahahahah what am I looking at?these people are chef??? More like edgy cosplayer.
Oh god its no wonder that so many people are shitting on this manga now.
I'll probably resume the reading just to see what's going on.

Why does the bald dude remind me of someone? I think it was someone off of GiTS or Auron

>surpassed the limits that the nature of meat itself imposes

THEN ITS NOT MEAT YOU FUCKING JUDGE DEGENERATE. THAT WOULD DISQUALIFY YOU IN A COOKING COMPETITION.

It's like being given a meat ingredient and you present the judges an advanced container with magnetic shielding that contains an ion-slurry of what used to be meat and telling them "here's your dish, eat."

Any judge worth their salt would tell you to fuck off and never come back.

What the fuck.

what did asahi steal from megumi ?

WSJ changes the editors of it's seriees around a lot. And the editors aren't the best at giving advice/knowing what is good for a series, considering all the shit we've seen happen in Jump manga:

I'm still fucking mad. I don't even care that she lost since it was to be expected considering her opponent, but it would have been nice to see her actually cook and present her dish since this definitely her last on-screen match. How do you manage to fuck up your ENTIRE cast?

Attached: D1ywlCJX4AIvcWk.png (540x604, 344K)

Souma x Toriko when

The joke was on you for expecting anything out of this arc.
Christ even Eishi jobbed off-screen.

Attached: 1531157113515.png (500x571, 268K)

I don't care about jobbing. I'd like to see some fucking cooking, and nice dishes. All we get these days are flashy moves, and underwhelming dishes that are soaked in oil and sparkles.

No user. She will live with me!

Everyone who's favorite character is not Mexican or Souma can agree.

>defeating Megumi makes you more threatening
Yeah I don't think that follows

It might not but when I look at when she lost to Ryo and Momo, i would think so.

Tsukuda loves putting Megumi up against really intimidating people if you haven't noticed. Shinomiya, the china dress girl, Ryo, Momo, Asahi. Maybe it's his fetish or something.

Come to think of it, has Megumi ever been allowed to win an actually important match? It feels depressing to think about.

>It feels depressing to think about.
It is

virginity

I am not saying she's a well-written character, because she's not. Just as you say, Tsukuda uses her character as he sees fit, for plot purposes.
However, I was only arguing in the context of the scene we were talking about, that is why she was acting cold toward the others, and there was a reason for that.

>I call this being naive and stupid and as well as having communication problems something that she shouldnt have now being the headmaster of the most prestigious school of japan, but even thast was a stupid decision.
The issue is you'll find characters, in plenty of manga and anime, that do exactly this. They try to deal with all their problems on their own, because they think they shouldn't burden others with their own problems. It's a very Japanese thing. Hell, if you go to Japan to the right places (like pubs and the like), you'll find that, as a foreigner, they'll sometimes use you to vent all of their frustrations, because they'll see you as a loophole in the whole "don't burden others" since you're not Japanese, and they are aware that's a cultural thing of theirs.

No character other than Souma and Erina has been allowed to win an important match. Tsukuda has no idea how to use his side characters. As far as he's concerned, they're all just fodder to make the MC look better (which doesn't work, because his MC is horribly written, and having him hog 99% of the focus doesn't do him any favours).

Her dignity.

I hate you for pointing this out, because this is 100% going to happen and the only reason cross knives exists in the first place.

Im crying
youtube.com/watch?v=BTvdrUPb0b4

I want to marry her and have lots of children with her

Wait, Rindou got CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT too? Which chapter did she last appear in? I thought Ryoko was the only one.

I really miss this.

I remember being so excited for the festival thingie and then Azami showed up.

I would be okay with this

But he can write, he was doing so well until Azami. Hell, I thought it was the perfect introduction for the 1st seat. Then Central happened almost immediately after.

If you can only keep your story coherent for 130 chapters then you're not a good writer. We're at chapter 303. Not even half of the story was well-executed.

Erina isn't trying to deal with her issues on her own. Tsukuda just has no idea what the fuck he's doing with her. When BLUE started, her objective was to win in order to not marry EL HERMANO now it's to make a dish for her mom, because mommy issues popped up out of nowhere. One minute she's cold then the next she's on the verge of a breakdown. The most annoying thing is that she acts like she doesn't have a mouth, she literally just stands there being yanked around. First by her dad, then by Souma saying that a Nakiri should be the headmaster, now this. She doesn't even feel like a character, she feels like a plot device. Don't even get me started on how she was ignoring Meg/Soma/Takumi who helped last arc yet was still able to talk to Asahi and even still blush around him despite the fact that he KIDNAPPED HER. SOMETHING SHE YET TO TELL ANYONE.

Shinomiya is the spin-off we deserve.
Translations fucking never.

I wonder what happened with the Shinomiya spin-off. I stopped reading when the tomato girl appeared.

To be honest, I'm sick of the whole affair of Erina and her family. Azami was enough for me.

I see.....Maybe i'm looking at this from a different angle but i know too well what is trying to resolve all your problems alone, stress, a lot of stress on yourself.
There are problems that have to be resolved by yourself but with some problems you need help from somebody else,in my opinion.

When do you think did they decided to axe the manga ? Just after the hot spring mystery ?

Yeah, I know the Mana thing came out of nowhere, I'm just going by the current context. Basically, she's not being cold because she's back to being a bitch, but solely because she's dealing with a fuckton of shit. I'm not trying to argue any of this has been even decently written.

>There are problems that have to be resolved by yourself but with some problems you need help from somebody else,in my opinion.
I know, but these are actual cultural issues they do have. They very rarely confide their issues and worries to others, even to friends or family.

Introduction of EL HERMANO since that's when sales started to drop. It's clear that he has a deadline to meet which is why everything feels so rushed. The plot has been shit since Azami, but I don't remember it being so rushed.

>but solely because she's dealing with a fuckton of shit.
It still doesn't excuse her shitty treatment towards the three people that helped immensely in the last arc, but of course Tsukuda is going to once again use parent issues to excuse her dumb behavior.

I can't really blame her anymore. If I suddenly remembered I had a mom that abandoned me when I was little and realised out of nowhere that I was supposed to have even more tragic backstory with mommy issues then I would not act rational either. Fuck Tsukuda.

>If I suddenly remembered
how does one forget that lol

Considering Erina never acted like she had parent issues before they were introduced it was definitely not something she had before, even if he claims to have planned Central from the start there's no way Mana wasn't pulled from his ass in this very arc.

Tsukuda only a few characters who have any sort of character arc, and for pretty much each of them, Hayama, Erina, Megumi, he has them regress and do the same thing at least once for no good reason.
Of course, even that's better than just not getting any at all, like Souma.

It's baffling how he managed to fuck up his entire cast.

I think you are giving the editors too much shit, of course there are bad ones but i'm sure a lot of manga turned out way better thanks to their editor, it's just that we don't know about them.

Yakitate was fucking great

Shinomiya is still safe right?

the only way to be safe is to have not made any appearances since it started going downhill so yes, for now

I dropped this shit right after Azami ark, give me quick rundown about this mafia stuff with spoilers.

When joichiro lost I guess.
This is a deliberate shitshow to axe the series, they can't say no to the editors because money and try to end it by being awful, I'm sure many mangaka do this.
Toriyama tried they same with the cell or buu arc but it was well received instead, souma on the other hand is hated and will get axed.
btw toriko was axed because of the monkey ball moment and chef arc dropping the ranking, it wasn't on purpose.

Try living in north Korea.

Right around the time the third gate of the preliminaries was being written. That’s why how Sōma passed it was skipped and we’ve been rushing through things ever since.

Only I liked the Azami arc and the beginning of this arc? Only began to get horrible when it started that shit of chefs of light and darkness and superpowers.

Azami's wasn't an arc, it was a complete storyline comprised of 3 arcs.
It could have been good had it been an actual arc, and well written.

most developments would be acceptable if they're well written

Kek, same.
Honestly it has potential to be a great parody of ridiculous battle shounen tropes.

So what’s happened since the chainsaw cuisine shit? I dropped this garbage at that chapter and I’m curious if it’s gotten worse or if I should just catch up again if it’s ending for sure.

He looks like morpheus

>pic
kek, underrated

>we're always disappointed.
At this point it's more disappointing when it's not a trainwreck, because that's the only way it can be remotely entertaining.

Another person summary

After the RdC souma became the 1st seat and Erina the headmaster meanwhile being a she a student in the same school she is the headmaster......ok
Jouichiro's "long lost son" Asahi shows up out of nowhere and jobs Jou 5-0. Then all these "dark chefs" show up, apparently they're from the criminal "cooking underworld". They're really just a fucking joke tho. Anyway, Erina gets kidnapped and released by Asahi, who wants to marry her or something, and instead of calling the cops or telling anyone what happened, she agrees to his challenge in BLUE. BLUE starts, some bullshit happens where Soma predictably wins all the battles against these no-name dark chefs, and then suddenly cooking skills are all called "superpowers" now. Asahi apparently has the ability to absorb these superpowers by touching other people's knives and most recently, the person in charge of BLUE, the one who is apparently sanctioning and pushing for these dark chef clowns to win, is Erina's mother

Continue....

Well, Cooking Papa neverwent down that road, but that's a completely different deal.

Imagine if Tsukuda has to do his own drawing too.

Attached: 7c2162d8af3ad1974891013c2fe36a77.gif (840x720, 1.53M)

i'm baffled by the fact that it keeps getting worse each week
if it's on purpose then tsukuda is a genius

it's the equivalent of getting zero on a multiple choice test

Remember when a bunch of us tried to tell people here that the end of the Azami arc was the end of the series? And that people should stop reading it right there for maximum enjoyment and to not tarnish their memories of a great story?

Soma became first seat. Erina became headmaster. They cooked together and admitted their feelings for each other and it became obvious they would end up together. That's the conclusion of the series. It resolved 90% of all the overarching plot points. The only thing left over is Soma cooking for Erina which should have been done in the next issue and just wrapped everything up. The story was over. Is over.

Look at everything that has happened since. Admit to yourself it's a better story, far better, if you stop at 264. It was a great manga and I loved it, but that's the end of it. Everything after that point has been terribly written trash that has done nothing but tarnish how good it was. Just let go friends. Just enjoy what we had and forget everything after the AdC, that's the end of the story. After that Erina and Soma went to meet his dad, he challenged his dad, he beat his dad in a Shokugeki, he fed that same meal to Erina at the dinner they were having at his dads house. She loved it and she acknowledged it and him. He proposed and she accepted and his dad gave them his blessing. That's it, happy ending music. Roll credits.

Now Erina is angry with her mother because she tried to throw out her from the tournament, even if souma says it is something more than anger, but since until now they havent said anything about the situation between Erina and het mother Mana everything is possible, such quality writing. Her mother abandonedSo In the span of a single chapter, Erina became the "ice witch", a worse version of what she was before the introduction of Azami from Megumi's speech. Also in the chapter 301 Erina had a shokugeki against Takumi and without showing the dishes she won within 3 pages. Takumi tries her dish and says that she is the 0th seat, similar to the BS that happened in bleach with Yammy.Erina tries the dish that she makes and throws it in the trash saying that "its not worthy of the god tongue" (azami mentality) and goes away without saying a word to her supposed friend who she is avoiding from the start of the competition.
Moreover it seems that she has never been serious before and now she seems to be much stronger than Eishi , even if we hadnt any development about her cooking skill. I dont know where she did found the time to train as she had her headmaster responsibility too,but the 2 timeskip that we had in the span of 18 chapters did the trick.
Chapter 302 Megumi declare that she will not permit asahi to keep bothering Erina if she manages to beat him.
She oneshot the noir opponent that was considered one of the top 5 in this tournament in 5 pages.
Chapter 303 Asahi beat her 3-0 in 6 pages.
He request erina hand to her mother, she tell that if he can win the tournament he can espress any desire.
Erina as usual(in this arc) doesnt say anything about this and let it pass showing that she has no will.

Also Eishi the former 1th seat was invited to Blue but lost to asahi after not even 7 pages without even showing his dish. Asashi uses his extraterrestrial power and absorbs Eishi's "superpower".

>Are all cooking mangas destined to become battle showdowns with supernatural elements?
It isn't that bad if it done properly like the original version of pic related.

>admitted their feelings for each other
Huh? Sure Sorina is endgame, unless Tsukuda goes for an open end since he's rushing through everything, but when did either of them confess to being love? Hell, we still haven't gotten Erina to admit that she's fallen for him.

I can think of at least 7 and its a fucking cooking manga.

>but when did either of them confess to being love? Hell, we still haven't gotten Erina to admit that she's fallen for him.

Here;

That's it. That's the moment she accepts it. Everything after that is denouement.

>dark chef society
>supernatural cooking utensil
>supernatural abilities related to the 5 senses
it still managed to be a fun manga, with superb dishes and great characters. One of the best cooking manga ever.

Whatever helps you sleep at night, I guess.

Asanagi loves breaking women just as much as he loves muscular men and being a faggot.

azami arc was garbage though. if you're going to pick an arc to cut the manga off then its right before the moon banquet since stagiaire was the peak of the series. just end with the kids off honing their skills and then meeting back at the academy with the promise to get better.

azami arc turns the manga into battle shonen. the tone is completely different.

I dont know what chapter but I fucking SWEAR this is traced from the introduction page of Wild Hunt from Akame ga Kill.
Like, 100% traced its the EXACT same shot AND character design
What the fuck is this retarded author thinking, Im so fucking glad I stopped reading at the Central shit

Has continuing beyond the AdC increased or lessened your enjoyment and love of the story and it's characters?

If they wanted to continue the story then they don't make Soma first seat and don't make Erina headmaster of a school that she, a teenage girl, is still a student at. If they wanted to continue then Soma should have been like 7th or 8th seat. Shake the rankings up a little. Give him still something to work towards while at the same time him and Erina begin to accept their feelings for each other and their relationship blooms.

You don't make Erina headmaster of the entire academy unless it's the conclusion of the story. You don't make Soma first seat of the best cooking school in the world, the rank his dad never reached, unless it's the conclusion of the story. Both these things happened way too soon and drained away all the dramatic tension and resolved major points that should have been good for another two or even three major arcs. You can't make them the rulers of the best ranking and academy in the world because after that the only way for any tension is for you to suddenly invent "new" rankings schools and scenarios that are actually better and harder than Tōtsuki, when the entire premise of the manga was that Tōtsuki was the best of the best beyond anything in the world. The only way to have story tension after they have conquered it would be to invent some new "Dark Cooking" say where suddenly the chefs in there are ten times better than the ranking we were told was the best in existence. It cheapens everything. It would be like Luffy conquering the sea, finding One Piece, beating all the rivals, becoming Pirate King and then someone says "You've done well Luffy, but you havn't faced the dangers of the Dark Sea where everything is so far beyond Grand Blue it looks like a kiddie pool".

No. That's the end of the story. Just accept it in your head and enjoy what we got.

stupid shipfag. you were never going to get a love story.

I don't care about ships. The story concluded along nearly all major plot points. Ships are incidental.

>I don't care about ships.
uh huh

Not one bit. I always figured E+S was endgame but I honestly wouldn't have cared whoever he ended up with. The ships are minor compared to him becoming 1st seat at Tōtsuki - again a rank his dad and meta-rival never reached - and Erina becoming headmaster. Really it doesn't matter who he ends up with at that point, the story is over, the ships are just tying a bow on it. If it makes you feel better you can have him end up with whoever you want, regardless the story is over.

id rather soma just fuck off. hes become one of the worst about the story. it sucks having to follow a main character that has no growth.

He can't have growth BECAUSE HE BEAT THE STORY he's first seat at the best cooking school in the world. He literally can't grow beyond this point without the author creating new artificial standards or cheapening everything that happened. It's like Harry beating Voldemort and then becoming the best most powerful wizard in the world and Hermione is made headmaster of Hogwarts. Man why is Harry so boring now? Because there is no more tension in the story!
