If you think about it, for over a year the same core of two translators, a peer reviewer/editor, primary cleaner/typesetter and occasional cleaner/typesetters have been working on this series.
It was a thing of beauty to see them get releases out basically the same day to beat LHT but there's no way in hell that pace would be maintainable. Even more so when you take into consideration that they're all in completely different timezones and have their own lives to live. It's not unreasonable to see if anyone else would like to get involved to shift some of the load/responsibility.

Regardless of whatever hints actually have been given to us about her feelings, it's a little late in the story to suddenly reveal her as head over heels in love with Fuutarou...or vice versa with him. She's there to distract us from whichever of the other four ends up being the bride.
And since the bride is the first girl we're shown, whichever quint is the bride is the first girl.
Also, it would be great if we had other works written by him to judge this against, but since he did really want to do a chapter for a Bakemonogatari anthology, I'm taking that as more evidence that he's not taking a totally conventional, cliche-filled approach to the story.

I realized that truth months ago. She hasn't had a major arc dedicated to her while the other quints are developing further. This chapter was the breaking point because it deconfirms Yotsuba as Rena. There was potential that it could explain why her character hasn't developed greatly yet. This just cements her for having the most poorly developed character so far. She's going to need a trope gimmick to come back, but would it even be enough to compensate?
