What went wrong?
Danganronpa 3
Off the top of my head
>brainwash anime was boring, we should've seen Junko go around breaking the remnants one by one exploiting their weaknesses and darker sides shown in SDR2
>Chiaki should've remained an NPC and nothing more
>Mukuro should've been given more personality
>future arc killing game, both in setting and how it worked, should've been more interesting than a bunch of people running around in dark corridors
>monokuma should've had a physical appearance rather than just be a recording on a screen
>monaca just giving up and going to space was anticlimactic
>tengan was a boring mastermind and his motivation dumb
Didn't anime Danganronpa 0
Oh and
>the entire SDR2 cast being alive despite monokuma's "death isn't cheap" speech back then
Well, first off, premise of Future-hen. It is based on what is easily the worst part of DR franchise. And it wants to be taken seriously, well, at least not as goofy as DR Another Episode. And they hired for that Kishi Seiji who is undoubtedly a funny guy and can pull off good comedy, but he's no good when it comes to stuff meant to be taken with straight face. So, a lot of moments that are meant to be actually dramatic often make you unintentionally chuckle.
Which in turn harms DR Despair-hen because it is intrinsically connected to Future-hen. It is the better part of the show because as I said the director knows comedy and light hearted first half capitalizes on that relatively well, but then it completely drops the ball when Junko appeared, when it came to drama it satisfied literally no one, it felt rushed, it felt abrupt, it was a complete asspull.
They should have just made goofy sequel to Another Episode that would not hinge Kishi Seiji with drama he clearly can't balance with comedy.
Not enough Saionji
>>monaca just giving up and going to space was anticlimactic
No it was great
Future Arc - The new cast are lame, the NG Code game sort of sucked. If cause of death was suicide how did someone do a fake Hina-death prank?
Despair Arc - Brainwash!? Also, why is Mukuro always shilling for Junko? DR1 DID show that she wants to become independent from her.
>DR1 DID show that she wants to become independent from her.
You mean DR:IF? That was never canon. I did like that Mukuro better than the actual one, though.
>New cast are lame
Think you're forgetting someone user
Monaca episode was great, i think there was one joke that flew over everyone's heads.
She decided to become a NEET and claimed she already figured out what was happening in the Hope tower thing because it's an anime and she already seen it

We need to go deeper, v3 anime when? Or V2?
I wonder if 16 hour kun still works at Taco Bell.
She drops the act pretty blatantly and vents to Naegi in the last FTE. She also doesn't even put in much effort to act like her sister at all normally. I think Junko comments on that at the end.
Anybody else actually glad the ending for V3 invalidated the canon up until now. The more I think about it, this series needs a clean slate to start fresh from. I know DR isn't meant to be taken completely seriously but still, I feel like the serious got a bit too convoluted and ridiculous by the end of DR3.
Also, while that could easily have just been part of the act, I like to think that her complaining about being bored and wanting out and then snapping over being told she's going to be forced to take part in a class trial was how she really felt.
>Invalidated
Nothing's really stopping them from going back to Hope's Peak continuity. But I wouldn't mind something fresh *if* they make a DR4 at one point.
I really hope they don't. Even after DR1, while I did enjoy the game, I found myself saying. "the world is destroyed because of despair and this one girl. Really?"
How are you supposed to watch this anyway? Despair arc then hope? One episode from each at a time?
Watch one from despair, one from Future etc then once they're done watch hope
Despair -> Future, alternating episodes.
Then once you're through all those, the "Hope" finale.
It's Danganronpa.
>brainwash anime was boring, we should've seen Junko go around breaking the remnants one by one exploiting their weaknesses and darker sides shown in SDR2
That would've been even more retarded and everyone who keeps suggesting this is an idiot. Junko cannot just walk up to complete strangers and talk them into abandoning all morals and becoming a mass murderer who slaughters millions of people for no reason. Not over the course of a single school year. Brainwash anime is 10000 times more believable and realistic than that.
It's Junko, of course she can. Especially when she has shit like murder girls, the yakuza, serial killer enthusiasts and incels to toy with. You lack vision.
future 1 then despair 1 then future 2 and so on
It's not a matter of "can", Junko would have no interest in doing that. She doesn't know the DR2 kids at all, she has no attachment to them. The reason she went to all the trouble of creating an incredibly elaborate killing game for the DR1 kids is because they were her classmates. She wouldn't bother trying to spend time meticulously breaking the DR2 students because she doesn't know or care enough about them to do it, she'd get bored quickly. It's more consistent with her character to go with the easier method and just brainwash them.
I love my adorable wife Chiaki!
Happy birthday for her!
I really wish I knew where I saved my Juzo boys copypasta
They didn't know how to write Junko as the mastermind who manipulated the whole school into despair and resorted to DUDE MINDHACC LMAO.
Should have just given definite conclusion to SDR1 so the franchise could be totally detached and not just always in the shadow of the first game.
Who was the mastermind this time anyway? Junko again?
It was ____me_______
No u
Junko was less of a mastermind, and more of a victim of circumstance. Things happened around her that she just so needed at the time.
not enough asahina
Could've been worse. That fakeout in episode 2 could've been real.
>Junko would have no interest in doing that
muh despair
The better things about this series are the OSTs, nothing more, nothing less
too much junko
junko actually being some super analyst
brainwash video crap
junko's obsession with despair making no sense because there's no logical reason she shouldn't be able to still predict what's happening, especially when the brainwashing basically turns people into copies of her
moving from hope vs despair to chaos vs order
>Junko cannot just walk up to complete strangers and talk them into abandoning all morals
We're talking about the high-school girl who turned the world into her cult here. They're both unrealistic but her breaking down students is far more entertaining than her just happening to find some guy who's essential to her plan on pure luck.
I love my gorgeous wife!
I enjoyed the Yea Forums threads plenty though
