It's just as hack to say it, but BC is a perfectly fine "turn your brain" off battle-shounen. This many years in and it has never lodged itself up its own ass like Nardo/Bleach did.

It all comes down to this statement, "it's a fun turn your brain off series". So when a binge reader is catching up with the series they miss certain details (or sometimes they may downplay) to characters, comments, and etc.
For example, in a post I did I noticed that ever since noelle's introduction she and asta has been either in the same panels, she has made big contribution alongside asta, and she has been in the same arcs as asta (exception kiten). But since the star festival (chapter 103) up until now (chapter 196-) asta and noelle has been noticeably separated, not in the same panels, barely any interactions, and not together in the same arc (mini training arc, royal knights tournament, this current arc). To me it's either tabata showing that both are showing growth separately, both are going to have an epic moment together with their new strength by the end of this arc, or something might happen to one of them.
So I do think some readers overlook/downplay certain details because of some of the comments like "it's a turn your brain off series". Black clover can be both entertaining and have great writing.

OP here. I ended up dropping it. I couldnt stand asta at all and i thought noelle would do something relevant in the dungeon raid but she dissapointed me with her i cant control my magic bullshit, also the rest of the black bulls are nothing new just a bunch of old archetype characters.
I dont get it why anybody would like this but i guess its fine if you dont have anything to read
