I've never done any drugs before, but just living in... anywhere else in the world? Except maybe totalitarian police states? Means you're exposed to them more than your average Japanese manga artist
Even something like Black Lagoon, where the actual nuts and bolts of the drug use isn't that weird, the rest of the story is so fucking cartoony and weirdly written that it comes off as surreal
