Was God Ki a mistake?

DB after 1996 mas a mistake

This. It's just a series that tries to sell toys. All of it's characters are underdeveloped, one dimensional, and are just bill boards. The episodes devolved into flashy fights, padded out episodes, and more flashy fights. There are very few strategies in the show, and it doesn't matter how strong the main villain is, because Vegeta will job and Goku will just kamehameha his way through. Fuck, I regret spending so much time watching this shit fest.

Dragon ball heros is just further proof. Fuck Toei

remember when DB was about technique, martial arts and battle performance instead of le magic light beams and power up asspulls? yeah I do

no, because then you would get super saiyan 6 by now and it's just retarded as it is. God ki brings in the whole monkey king aspect of what goku is based off of. Goku and Vegeta after frieza saga rely on transformations. To make them stronger with out relying on hidden potential, they have to go to God ki. While other characters who do have high potential can contend with the gods with out it. Though the non God ki characters cant get into things like Ultra Instinct.

>Though the non God ki characters cant get into things like Ultra Instinct.
>Roshi

It eternally fucked power scaling and made every transformation worse so yes.

Goku pretty much reached his peak with his main motivation and could never have obtained god ki on his own. Gohan simply had higher potential while Vegeta broke his own limiter because he wanted to protect people he cares about. Goku would have lost the power level race if Beerus never showed up.

>technique, martial arts and battle performance
It was always brute strength. When they got done training with roshi they literally complained he didn't teach them any martial arts and he said it didn't matter theyre strong.

Nah, it just emphasizes how retarded power scaling in DBZ is and always has been. God ki is supposed to be, well, the ki of the gods. It's supposed to put you on an entirely different playing field. Yet it only barely makes you a match for
>A genius who trained for a grand total of 4 months
>A guy who hunted poachers
>Someone who's "just strong"

At this point even having Super Saiyan 11 would be better IMO, because nothing about that at least implies godliness.

Reminder that Dragon Ball was always shit.

Super Saiyan 4 will always be the superior post-Z transformation.

It's funny how this super special ki has been limited to Goku and Vegeta outside of the kais, gods, and angels but there's been no actual advantage of having it.

>goku spends 9 months traveling to king kai's just to do what is essentially weight training

>Gohan on par with Jiren, Broly, 17, and Frieza

Where else would you put Chadhan but among with the other chads.

I believe Hokuto no Ken 2 inspired DBZ into being like this. They went from martial arts to shooting beams out of nowhere

>implying Goku would ever let Manleta surpass his place as most powerful saiyan of all time
Lmaoing at ur life.

ss4 made him more aggressive and intelligent
god ki only made him more retarded

gohan stated he could beat frieza during the TOP

You mean when Goku trained with Rosi and got stronger without almost any combat training?
Or when he climbed a tower and got stronger?
Or when he was hungry and couldn't defeat a villain?
Or when he drank magic water and suddenly he was able to 1vs1 Piccolo?

Gods were a mistake.
How can any future conflict feel meaningful or have stakes when you know Goku can just call Beerus or Whis to come fix whatever bullshit happens.

Beerus isn't that much stronger than Goku anymore and Whis isn't going to demean himself by actually fighting seriously.

user, sometimes people say things that aren't actually true, it's called lying.

The irony is that you could be forgiven for assuming that god ki should be a non-issue, considering that the "gods" in Dragon Ball are shit on the power tier, and don't really have any special powers, all except the one in-universe god that was introduced specifically by the story.

I'm not sure why they made two god forms. They should have just done the super saiyan spikes with the red glow instead of this blue bullshit

Dragon Ball always had this problem. The problem of no meaningful stakes has always been the item the show was named after.
