Re-Creators told you all you need to know; that the author HATES his customers, want them all to die, and blame them for all his troubles. That he thinks his customers are the bad guys and deserve to be punished, that authors should shit on readers when ever possible.
Why do you think in Re-Creators, there was never any attempt to show things from the fan's perspective? Because the Creators don't understand the fandom and think they have shit taste.

The politics are also changing too fast. Black Lagoon was set in the 90's, at this point the manga is becoming a retro series. it's like how the original Ghost in the Shell manga assumed that the Soviet Union was still whole.

It's coming back in Spring isn't it? I don't expect much from the dude but at least Wild Red Wired Child or whatever it was called finished recently. I don't think the problem with Black Lagoon is that Hiroe hates the characters, I think its just something that's difficult to end well. Especially considering he's probably making good money off of it still (I think its still in some best sellers lists)
I am thinking he's waiting on an idea to complete the series but goes on hiatus when he knows he's not going to come up with something and just deflects to come up with a substitution arc.

happy ending that can only be achieved with blood. Rock gets Revy preggos, right before Rock goes full villain. the promise of a baby puts his head back into trying to live decently and get out but has made too many enemies to simply walk. he and revy, possibly the lagoon crew will have to fight to get out of hell's island.

I don't get the deal with everyone saying Rock is gonna become a villain. At worst he kind of gets off to high risk life and death gambles but its always to save people and for what he feels is 'the right thing'. Its hard to take Lagoon that seriously but in all of the most recent arcs he does crazy shit all for his (possibly) misguided sense of justice:

Idunno why everyone gives him so much shit, especially that little Garcia asshole. Without Rock's scheming that whole situation would just have been one giant massacre with everyone dead.
The most I can see in terms of a 'redemption' for Rock is having one of his high risk schemes result in Revy being seriously injured and having him re-evaluate all the danger he puts people in.
I hope before it ends, we find out more about Eva and Dutch. That military guy in the Roberta arc said that Dutch isn't really a soldier from Nam, and Eva's whole CIA thing being exposed might make for a cool arc.
Seeing Revy preggers feels hella wrong. Not being able to drink and be a complete degenerate? Fuck that.

Then the best case scenario might be he sees the money he's getting from the anime adaption and writes a good enough arc to justify another OVA. Like I doubt the latest arc will be adapted and they probably want something with a better story to adapt than Roberta's Blood Trail which was kind of a shit show.
But yeah man my hope's aren't that high. He just started another manga too.

It's kind of strange how dated Black Lagoon might feel to some of the younger readers. They may not even know the Russians were in Afghanistan too. For them it's ancient history just like the whole 90s; the collapse of the Soviet Union, the end of Cold War, FARC running wild in Columbia and a world without the internet and smarthphones. I feel old just by thinking about it. I experianced those events first hand while now you can read about them in history books.

I don't why it is that way but seems like learning history is seen as something only absolute losers do. Normalfags are into memorizing quirky science facts but none gives a damn about history.
