Need to catch up? youtube.com
Deadline for the Yea Forums sings is March 31st.
We'll be doing the whole song, so get ready to fuck your vocal cords over.
Karaoke, lyrics, sheet music, and such: files.catbox.moe
Send your submissions to [email protected]
Also please try to actually sing. Whisperers/mumblers will be frowned upon.
You don't have to sing your heart out, but at least speak up so we can hear you.
There's also another mixer doing the Bunny Girl Senpai ED and Zombieland Saga OP. Go contribute to his projects too.

how many have contributed for this anons?
Only 6 so far. Was hoping I'd have more at this point.
I'm still working on memorizing Soramimi Keiki.
does it have to be the full version or can we do the 1:30 minute version?
Bumping out of interest.
I forgot, I don't know how to sing but I guess I'll do it anyway.
I'd prefer that everyone do the full version but if you just want to do the TV-size version that's fine too.
But only if you really don't want to do the whole song. I don't want to end up with a bunch of anons only doing the TV-size version.
Bump. Kimura is based.
As long as you're not mumbling it doesn't matter if you can't sing
Bump.
I'm about one more practice session away from being ready to submit.

I’ve finally recorded a saxophone version of Shin Gakki (6) from the soundtrack with slightly more charm than a bag of flaming dogshit left on the doorstep, so:
Tips for micing woodwinds if you’re going to add music with emphasis on saxophones and condenser mics (since this is what I’ve experimented on since last week). I assume our mixer wants clean but raw tracks.
Saxophones have similar sound harmonics to the human voice, so generally record them like you would vocals.
Ribbon mics are best for saxophones but we will most likely all have condenser mics so I’m more worried about them.
A lot of the noise a woodwind makes comes out of the holes instead of the bell, especially the more woodwindy and less brassy tones. If you put the mic in or at the bell, you’ll sound flat and brassy. You’ll get better sound putting the mic about 2-5 feet away (depending on the room acoustics) and about at your face height to capture sounds from all parts of the instruments.
Unidirectional recording pattern and a mono setting work best for me...that will be dependent on room acoustics.
Using a Blue Yeti USB, I had to turn down the gain to minimum and set the digital input to 50% to reduce noise yet not wash out the warmth of the saxophone. BTW, you get a cool electro-synth sound from the sax if you turn the input down to 5%.
A wool hat stuck over the microphone makes an excellent analog noise filter and will eliminate the pops, hisses, and key noise of a saxophone that a mic can pick up.
Don’t use noise gates or add reverb post-recording. You’ll sound like Kenny G or a synthesizer. Let the mixer fuck with that shit.
If the room is dead you can also kill the noise by setting the mic to a figure 8 recording pattern and positioning yourself in the deadzone. This doesn’t work in a live room like one with cathedral ceilings. You’ll get too much reverb and the sax will sound like a monster truck rally announcer.

General notes on tone:
The Azu stuff tends to be in the upper registers so unless you’re trying to be Charlie “Yardbird” Parker with it (and that’s ok) transpose downwards. It puts most of the music into the saxophone’s sweet spot tonally.
If you don’t have the breath control to play breath attack on the slow stuff (like if you haven’t played for years) then don’t try to play breath attack. Sharp attacks are better than soft attacks if you have to make that choice.
If you haven’t played in years, then buy new reeds. Reed technology has advanced greatly since the 1990s.
Good tip from AzumangaAnon: if your embouchure and breathing are out of shape, divide the song into sections, play each section separately when you are fresh, and string them together into one track.
Working on your cake recording now, mixer.
Of all the things that never happened, this happened the least.
All in goid time. The pope tried to hurry Michaelangelo when he was painting the Sistine Chapel and all he got was a painting of a bunch of dudes with their dicks out.

Fair enough, just been curious to hear the other instrument and to see if you're really as bad as you claim to be Also, where did you get the Shin Gakki 6 music? I printed this one out but I've not started playing yet.

I’m even worse than I say...so bad that I can’t even comprehend how bad it is. Azu sheets at the two links below, but I’ve rearranged most of them since they are mostly piano pieces.
Search Azumanga on here, there are a few.
