Is the Stand battle system the most genius thing Araki has come up with? Its been 30 years now and you can still come up with fresh and creative fights without having the fatigue of other shonen/seinen manga like Dragon Ball
Is the Stand battle system the most genius thing Araki has come up with...

>just add some time or space power to the main antagonist to milk Za warudo popularity
but yes it's a good battle system. You can literally lose if you don't know or understand how the power of your opponent works.
Except it is extremely unbalanced with some people getting the ability to control time or have well distributed stand vs one that has high utility but is worthless in attacking.
pretty sure you haven't watch world trigger, that's why.
why did star platinum become a feminine gayboy
Yes but i would have been better if you could power up your stands through training, or if you could upgrade it, like a transformation.
Like jotaro could stop 2 seconds but what if he trained or someone died and he could now do it for 15 and have enough power to distroy the-
Hey wait a minute. Thats every shonen. Its like shonen keep doing that because its actually good, shows development by simple things like changing your hair from yellow to blue.
Stands are a hit or miss. some are really cool, some are useless. Some are overpowered and you can't realistically make good fights so you have to keep them out of the fights or use asspulls to beat them. Like hand, za warudo etc
>fatigue from watching fights in dragon ball
i dont know what you are talking about but all the canon fights in dragon ball from the beginning are great and fresh.
Star Platinum getting the Za Warudo power of stop time was always really stupid to me. Araki wrote himself to a corner for making Dio way to overpowered and flung shit from his ass.
Star Platinum = Jonathan's spirit
That's why he can stop time too.
>i would have been better if you could power up your stands through training, or if you could upgrade it, like a transformation
Nah. That would go against one of the things that make Stands so good: no power creep.
Then why couldn't Joseph?
because Jonathan's spirit reincarnated into Star Platinum and not Hermit purple.
It's stupid but that's the only answer I have for Star Platinum time power
source
that bullshit
but i believe it
Dio had two stands. Jonathan's and his own.
Jonathan's was the same shit as Joseph's, if I recall.
Post your goddamn sources you faggots otherwise stop talking out of your asses.
Read the manga. Watch the anime. Fucking google it.
Dio had two stands. One was the same as Joseph's. Easy to guess where it came from.
Why does Dio having two stands have to do with the original statement that Jotaro has the spirit of Jonathan? Stop derailing and get to your point already.
I have no sources lmao, I'm just trying to damage control Araki's work.
Remember in Part 3 when Dio had a minion with a stand called THE SUN, literally DIO'S WEAKNESS.

Anyway for Star Platinum, i see it like this :
Imagine at the beginning of part 3, Jotaro has his stand but it's a bit crazy and we can't saw his face (only body). We arrive at Dio fight, Dio is defeated, Star Platinum face is revealed to be pic related.
If you're not talking about stands, are you implying Star Platinum is, somehow, Jonathan's spirit? Literally his spirit. Not the his spirit's manifestation/stand, which Dio has.
You get to the point.
Oh, and is is Star Platinum or Jotaro? You need to decide.
Whatever the answer, none makes sense.
Not a fan of remote control stands. Other than that, it's a great system.
Did Araki ever explain why Polpo was so goddamn big? He wasn't just fat but naturally enormous.
he's from America (Texas)
Nen > Stands.
fuck off
What kind of stands would result from the home button, the menu button, the OK button, and the GoTo button?
Home would probably be a "return to set point" stand akin to Bites The Dust
Menu would be something similar to D4C
Ok Would be something like the user has to "ok" certain events before they occur like the izanagi from naruto
GoTo would just be time travel i guess
I always assume it's literally just the same power by pure coincidence. Other characters have had similar stands to each other without meeting. For example, there's like 3 gun stands and the same number of shrinking stands. The Hand and Cream are pretty similar, as is Aqua Necklace and Geb, and Oh Lonesome Me and Doggy Style (didn't include Stone Free because it wouldn't count as a coincidence if they're from different continuities). They all function slightly differently sure but if people can have similar powers it stands to reason that there's a small chance of two people developing literally the exact same power. And the reason the only two guys with time stop powers happened to have a connection to each other is due to gravity or some shit.
This.
>It's strong but the drawback is that it does all the work for you and you don't suffer any consequences if you lose :)
Home = Mr. President
Goto = Hermit Purple
nen and stands are practically the same thing, fuck off huntard
im waiting for araki to include a meta scene in which someone goes "this is my stand [band name]" and a character says "wow I love that band"
Yeah
If nen is better, why is Togashi so shamelessly ripping off stands with the princes' nen beasts? Why did he basically give a stand to his arc villain? Tse's hatsu is basically a stand, a fully fledged ability he doesn't even understands, that fully goes against the "you have to train and consciously develop your hatsu". Togashi wasn't even subtle and just gave him King Crimson's power.
The true drawback is that you don't even know if you won or lost, and they suck against other stands.
>you don't suffer any consequences
Kira begs to differ
>not being an OP+Jojochad
Because they aren't purely focused in fighting, they're based on the users' personality. Which gives Araki room to write more than simply fights. I admit that I would kill myself if I got Talking Heads, though.
