>Has a simple background solely created to hate the protagonist >Looks like he could crack at any moment even in base form >Proceeds to go totally psychotic when around Goku >100% villian with no redeeming qualities >Complete hardcore nutjob with an evil laugh >Would certainly threaten innocent people if not defeated >Turns into a killing machine beating down every Z fighter >Is a complete menace throughout the entire movie >Fights Goku in a brutal battle to the very end >Dies
vs 2018 Broly
>Looks sympathetic >Acts sympathetic >Trope, "Cannot control his powers but has a heart of Gold" >Possible heroic future >No threat to our heroes or to greater society >Heroes fuse and easily beat him down no sweat >He's saved from certain death at the very end >Goku even visits at the end to make nice
I know OP is a fag but he's right on one point: shounen is moving toward a Barney-style world where there are no truly bad villains and conflict everything is resolved without bloodshed. There are retards today who think that Golden Wind is a seinen anime. Everyone who isn't an isekai edgelord is sipping onions these days.

While your post sounds retarded, this retarded Broly marooned in a god forsaken planet for 40 years really sucks compared to old Broly. Admittedly, the movie was bad, the idea of the guy getting triggered by Goku's voice because it reminded him of his crying was incredibly lame, but his extreme villainy (like casually blowing up the slaves' planet) and his lines (which, since I saw a dub, probably were mostly made up) were pretty funny, and way better than another retarded saiyan. Also, the guy could survive in space since he was a baby, and was blowing up galaxies for fun, his powerlevel was justified. Broly came to Earth after no more training than sparring with a swamp dog for years and somehow reached the level of saiyan god goku after getting pummeled for a few minutes. And the whitewashing of the saiyans in the new movie was awful. The only thing the new Broly has going on for himself is that green alien girl that he's going to knock up.

>some friends call me kakarot, but im goku and ur not my friend
so was goku telling Broly to call him kakarot at the end of the movie, a callback to this?

shit i forgot how hardcore and dark oldschool dbz was. God things really have gotten soft these days. I miss it so much...
Yeah and don't forget the new movie somehow made Paragus even more useless then he was in the original.

I kinda hate the fact that Paragus got a lot of shit even though he's far better than he was in the previous movie. He wasn't bad, he put a shock collar on Broly to prevent him from killing them both, and if he hadn't activated it in Freezer's ship, Broly would have probably damaged it. He wanted revenge against King Vegeta, but he also was raising his son alone in that shitty planet for 40 years, it's to expect that he would go insane after that, and also, without news of the destruction of planet Vegeta, he had all the reasons to think that, if Vegeta ever found them, he would try to kill them.

Old Broly was a literal giant baby. It's so dumb but he's so goddamn cool.

>"broly childhood trauma is stupid he has no reason to get angry because of his past memories "
Zparagus >Convinces king vegeta to not kill Broly because he cared about him >Plans to kill vegeta with his own plans and tried to rely less on Broly to protect him >Smart enough to play his role as a royal saiyan before one of the prisoner fucked up >Control ring is actually legit control ring >giving remorse when he had no choice but to leave Broly in Nu-Vegeta Supergus >Gets angry because King Vegeta didn't stroke his and Broly's dicks >actually plans to use Broly as a weapon >licks frieza's balls >control ring is actually a torture device >got worried not because he'll lose Broly but because he'll lose his means of revenge Nu-paragus is dogshit
>King Vegeta on the older movie: Ruthless, cold king. Tooking cold actions for the people like a saiyan king should be. Killed Broly in fear of the legend because he knew the legendary super saiyan was an unstable danger to the planet. Also killed Paragus on the moment of his insubordination.
>King Vegeta on the new movie: Envious bitch. Gets angry easily. Got jealous because Broly was stronger than his own son. Made his act by selfish reasons. Banished Broly instead of killing him. Didn't even tried to hold off Paragus or ordered anyone to do so. Soft and stupid.
It says something that he remembers Goku's crying even more than he remembers the stabbing
I still love that he would throw out phrases like "you'll the first one to disappear" or "I hope you can go back to your planet one day (immediately before destroying said planet)". His smile and those extremely violent yet coherent phrases made him look more like a sadistic bastard than an angry retard.
Jaxson Jackson
Old Paragus gets crushed by a crazed Broly. Then while laughing like a maniac he throws him away like a football. Remember?
You both make good points, I think both Paragus' were relatable figures for different reasons even with the lack of time we spent with them, I really wish we had gotten more time to know each of their characters and see what they really had to offer.

your bullshitting if you think king vegeta wasnt as jealous as he was in the new movie.
new movie was based. he was jealous, but also wasnt talking shit, and meant it.
Mason Parker
Ah! The same argument of those who only joins the hate train without even watching the movie.
I believe he was also afraid of losing power too but he was legitimately worried about the future of his people. So much that he made sure to end Broly right in that moment.

new broly = SOUL old broly = soulless..

Retarded edgefags forget that Dragon Ball started out as a gag series
Chase Murphy
Not an argument. It actually had seriousness, tense moments. Evil villains that was beyond redemption that killed and died on gruesome ways. The new Dragon Ball tries so hard to be lighter that it fails ugly.
