This. As someone who's scoured tons of furniture shops in my metroplex, can confirm Ikea is the best option for figure display cases (detolf and billy with glass doors). Most furniture stores have display 'cabinets', they are wooden and have thick frames. Not good for figs. I've even been to modern furiture stores, the ones that target eccentric richfags and play technopop music and have chairs in the shape of hands - they also don't consider glass display cases instead of cabinets and instead had wall shelves and such.

Ikea's pretty smart for giving their products quirky names and keeping most of them around forever, I wish someone else would compete with them. I did see one nice huge minimal-frame glass display case for a good sale at Weir's once, was about $400 from retail of $800, however I'd have to spend for delivery, making it go back to almost retail price probably. The case also had a mirror back though, so it would need to be spraypainted so a solid color (mirror makes your figs look doubled, causes clusterfuck illusion). I went back and of course the case was gone and they didn't sell anything else like it, because that's the problem with all these damn furniture stores, they swap out models all the time.

You can sculpt it by hand with something like epoxy clay. Many people use a skeleton like armature wires or aluminum foil to sculpt around. Alternatively learn a program like Zbrush and 3D print it, though it will need sanding. Once you have your sculpt, if you want to sell multiple copies you will need to make molds by sticking the prototype into a box and making a cast around it, remove prototype, then pour resin or whatever you want into the box. You ought to divide the fig into different parts though, to make it have natural seams and make easier for airbrushing, therefore you will have different mold boxes. Just google about all this. You don't need to find info specifically for making japanese uguu bitches, info from the westerners making D&D figs or whatever still applies.

My main questions still stand: what are the main differences between the physical feeling of a DHR6000, a lower-class option like a CMD9000, and your run of the mill 20-dollar Walmart brand pillow? In the wiki, I've read that the top of the line ones have a non-slip surface, but what do they actually feel like when you hug them? I watched some videos on the proper fluffing of a DHR 6000 after it's first delivered, and I can somewhat compare the fullness and density between mine and that one, but I am by no means an expert.
