Most of them don't and shield hero is a web novel the kind that's used to practice writing. From what I understand every one who likes goblin slayer likes it for the guy who's so single minded in killing goblins. Slime is about watching a guy dick around and build a civilization because he's bored. Yeah they're better than other isekai because people like them more and that's the only metric we have. This is hardly pretentious. Why cant people like things?

Most light novels do that, they start with something that sounds like an interesting gimmick, but after 2 chapters they degenerate into the same shit. You could swap their chapters.
