Funny because didn't Clannad AS also have an obnoxiously upbeat ED?
>Asuka lying in a bathtub in a pool of rust and her own blood

WAKE UP FEELING SO HORNY

Every Kyoani Key adaptation did except the first season of Clannad.
I actually like that
>season one ends on an emotional note and/or cliffhanger
>season two never
source material it is I guess
Kino
If your first thought wasn't Gon happily narrating the next episode 0.5 seconds after Meruem and Komugi's scene, you don't deserve to post here.
Fucking Grimgar man. At least the novels are kind of fun, even if they appear to be written by a 12 year old.
>never cried watching anime during my middle school and highschool years
>Clannad, Angel Beats, Grave of the Fireflies; left no emotional impact
>now in my early 20s
>literally cry at anything and everything that attempts to invoke an emotional response
>cried like a bitch watching Plastic Memories, Happy Sugar Life, Shield Hero ep 4, re;zero ep 18, Zombie Land Saga, fucking Comic Girls of all things

Don't know how I got so soft and emotionally attached to fictional characters.
>episode 10
>MC almost fucking dies by bleeding out from every orifice and poison
>Cutest ED of the year plays
That's pretty normal.
When you're a kid, that's just the cool thing to do. Conciously or unconciously.
Once you get older, that barrier disappears and you do what makes the stories the most fun, engaging and memorable. That is, allow them to draw you in and care about the characters.
It's certainly not to the extent you have it, but I have gotten more emotional than I would've gotten earlier
>finish extremely emotional episode
>the ED you've been listening to all season was planned around it
>alternatively the ED changes to fit the tone of the episode
Thank you based Shaft for doing this consistently.
>OP makes zero sense and seems like they threw cool visuals together
>only makes sense once you know the ending
>knowing the actual meaning behind the OP makes things more emotional.
This is why good studios tweak the OP and ED to match the show
like trigger
and Air
other way around for me, I ate up all the sentimental shit when I was a teen, but have become indifferent in my late 20s
Shaft is pretty good at this, or used to be.
OH I CAN'T HELP BELIEVE IN YOU
>finish goofy upbeat comedy episode
>chill, slightly nostalgic music plays
