Favorite class? For me it was assassin/Strider.
Climbing monsters and doing fast slashes, or jumping and doing that hyper fast spin move absolutely murdering the shit out of everything was fun, while also getting some range on the side.

Magic archer was also fun, since it's pretty flashy too bad stat growth is so fucking garbage that you have to play wizard to actually gain any meaningful damage long term.

Your character's built has nothing to do with stat gain if I remember right. It's based on the class you pick. Assassin has the best STR gain per level period, Wizard has best INT.

Just follow the manga and add in some filter.

Loli is fine, your only problem is equip load so just make sure you pawn is a big guy/girl and you'll be fine.
Big sword is also doable but Warrior is probably the most shafted of the vocations due to only having half as many active skill options, no ranged attacks and most of its best attacks take a long weekend to charge, but that said it is satisfying in its own right.

Yeah I remember having to switch my class to archer to take out the Zombie Dragon's Wings which sucked.

Lolirisen has low height (which reduces non-sprint move speed, weapon reach, carry weight, and how deep you can go into water without snuffing your lantern) and low weight (which reduces resistance to knock back and stagger and increases stamina use). On the plus side, they get quicker climbing speed (though without adhesion Aug it's useless because they'll be swinging around all the time instead of attacking) and stamina regen, can duck between large monster's legs, have a small hit ox, and can squeeze into the passage under the shadow fort that gives you the third area knowledge star for your pawn.

I meant in terms of skills. It's a good thing its normals are all solid or it'd be horrible.

You let your pawn's inclinations get out of whack. Generally you want Scather on melee pawns, Challanger/Mitigator on ranged, Utilitarian on supporters or as second, and crush all the other ones down as far as you can. Especially Guardian, which just makes them cancel attacks and spells to move a foot closer to you and do nothing. You can buy elixers from the dude in yellow in the encampment tent post-hydra that change their inclinations directly.

The tech demo looked great. That's more than what Crapcom has given you.

All the same, their other forays have not shied away from risk and creative freedom. It's been quite successful so far. They also tend to see projects through even if they're not huge wins like with MiA.
Regardless of where the money's coming from or why they're treating production the way they have been I think it's hard to argue with their results. Better to bet on something that might turn out well than return to Crapcom like a battered wife, in my opinion.

Spells can take a long ass time to cast where you have to just stand there. So most people prefer to leave spellcasting to pawns so they can run around stabbing shit and shooting arrows and crawling on monsters.

But spell synching is so fun

Mage is best class for loli. The loss of reach doesn't matter for them and being small means you're less likely to get hit while charging. Like says, though, pawns make better casters because you're much better at distracting enemies than a fighter pawn is.

Magic archer is the best class in the game, since it gets both phys and magic damage in every element. Also Ricochet Hunter fucking DESTROYS shit in BBI, and Sixfold Bolt chews up chained cyclops. Plus they get mag damage buffs as a skill that stacks four times.

I just started watching the DMC anime and I quite like it - I suspect the lukewarm reception it got was because people weren't expecting it to be so comfy, but personally I can't say I mind at all.

If this DD one is anything similar, I'll give it a shot. Probably won't though, DMC can be made comfy but I think they'd have to make DD serious and I don't know how well it'd work in that case.

Being a shota/dwarf with a massive pawn is generally the best way to play, you just offload all your inventory to your Pawn mules.

The only time you want to be huge is if you're one of the red classes - otherwise it's better to be small since you're using ranged attacks that don't rely on model size, whilst also having the smallest hitbox that means you avoid more attacks.

Even if you want to carry all your stuff yourself, you can just get Sinew or Leg Strength.

I went magic knight -> assassin because MK gets the only good defense against status attacks. When I switched to assassin, I just went full daggers which was probably a bit dumb since assassin's best thing is being able to use almost every weapon.

There's no problem with being a loli if you're playing a mage. The lengthy casting times put some off, but the first time you cast a top-tier spell makes up for a lot.

There is also his big beefy HP, a stat that you can barely increase with gear, compared to attack stats. Good for not wanting to be one-shotted. That said, I was able to consistently Arc Death to death with no problems and pommel Daimons head in until he was done. Like any other class you just need a bit better gear and buff yourself occasionally with items. The high resistence is only a big problem if you play hardmode outside of ng+.

Now fighting the Ur-dragon with him, that's some bullshit.

They have one evasion skill and it's shit compared to what fighters, MKs, and yellow vocations get. Eclipse slash is trash because it hits so low to the floor that it'll often flat out miss enemies even if they're standing right next to you which is a damn shame since it's such a satisfying skill when it actually decides to hit. Whirlwind slash is too slow to be useful against flying enemies, and too situational to be useful against most other enemies. War cry is a waste of a skill slot, and so is catapult blade. Indomitable lunge and lash are probably the best skills a warrior has and the latter still requires a lot of pawn support to setup properly. The HP growth isn't even impressive considering fighters get nearly as much on top of having better dps, defense, and evasive skills. Hell, they even have skills with better knockdown potential. Getting one-shotted isn't even a real concern unless you're playing a blue vocation. I play warrior builds quite a lot and I'm just mad because it's obvious that Capcom half-assed it.

If the OP is anything other than Flying into Free it's going to be guaranteed ass.

Use 2x barbed nails + a warhammer instead of the greatsword for increased knockback.
Use exodus slash for dodging and invincibility framws
Pommel Bash is incredible for guard breaking, whenever an enemy goes into a defensive stance use it to force them out of it
Arc of Obliteration is trash user, using jump attack + eminence or a grapple + targeted weak spot will do far more damage

It's really not. The game wouldn't have kept such a dedicated community to make the memes it has if there wasn't something to devote such an autistically huge amount of time into like the pawn system. I say this as someone that's put over 500 hours into the game on the 360.
