I know this is a bait thread, but I want to make a point. Just because some female characters are reduced down to sexualized moeblobs doesn't mean that this must apply to every other female character, or that female characters cannot be well written and powerful in their own right. In the same way that I have no problem with the oversexualization of women in anime, so too do I not have a problem with the oversexualization of men in it, either. Make another seven seasons of Free! and see if I care. There is nothing wrong with appreciating the human form (be it male or female), and even if a certain demographic is represented in a certain way in a certain show, there is no rule anywhere that states this is how the rest of them are, or that such a representation stops them from being capable or incapable of anything else. Only a moron would think that.

Also, every time this argument is brought up, I still don't really get it. Yes, Jap shit objectifies and sexualizes the fuck out of women. Hell, it objectifies and sexualizes the fuck out of everything. But it also has, by and large, some of the greatest numbers of intrinsically complicated, important, and well written female characters of any entertainment medium. Girl gundam pilots, scientists, spaceship captains, martial artists, robocops, programmers, world-savers, and far, far more are all represented. Each has a place, and most of the time, their gender isn't brought up or important. They are just accepted; what's between their legs doesn't matter. And, for some reason, you crybabies continue to only concentrate on the stuff you consider bad, rather than the myriad of other examples from the opposite side of the coin. Watch more fucking anime.

The shallowness of humanity, as it is again expressed in this thread, disgusts me. In particular when thinking of a study I saw recently, concerning the notion of 3d people changing their appearance to fall in line with their name, in turn having the result of their name becoming predictable when looking at photos of their faces. Therefore making it perfectly reasonable to assume for a 2d waifu's personality to also change her appearance (very obvious when it comes to character design) based on the same sentiment. Which means that she is in no way objectified, but that her "physical" form is the manifestation of her personality in accordance with universal laws. And if you would then go so far as to make her virgin self blush symmetrically, surely it would further reinforce her personality, and therefore, "physical" cuteness.

It's fiction. And then ironically I never perceived 2d girls as being particularly sexualized. Indeed, I saw especially pure moe girls as a way of escapism. And moe to me is more kawaii with casual beauty or other factors mixed in, rather than ecchi. Granted how these pure moe girls can be casually sexy, albeit in a different way (zettai ryouiki). And then some moe girls (e.g. Madoka) can also make sexuality look pure and beautiful, to a degree real women could never do it... to a degree that I find real sexuality absolutely disgusting. Moreso when thinking of "sexual liberation." And when people today talk about "repression," they usually try to force everyone to be as disgusting, or are apologetic of their behaviour, such that you must take their emotionally stand-offish selves later on. Increasing divorce rates, single mothers, making it a waste of time, etc. It's a religious system encouraging the betrayal and exploitation of cucks.
