For crying out loud. Even if LWA became a 56 episodes long or a long running series, the main plot would always be surrounded around Akko. She's the main character. The problem was trying to condense all of that into just 26 episodes while not properly distributing the rest of the subplots or the focus of the characters. And even then, it covered enough of the other characters , the problem is that itvwas also not enough. Jasminka was particularly fucked over.
If anything, Akko will now be the one with the short end of the stick in the end if there's ever a S2.

That Green Team didn't do shit? Taking in consideration that this was initially a series of OVAs, this being their introduction and serving as support characters for the remaining of it, it's not out of there, especially if they are going to continue appearing in the next entries. The ones that should have done a bit more were Diana and Ursula, if anything.
Frankly the only legitimate flaw I ever found was the whole way the "ancient monster" revived.

I disagree. Enchanted Parade was much more thought-out with the intriguing world-building upon the establishments of the first OVA, as well as stronger character interactions based on actions rather than backgrounds. The plot did have charm in delivering new friendships, conflicts, and resolutions in a consistent movie pacing, and the context of Akko fulfilling a witch entertainment parade beyond her Chariot aspirations and more for her friends is genuinely great for that magical theme. Only a few handful of the TV's solo episodes (namely the race episode and Sucy dream episode) had close to this experience in watching a magical plot flow from beginning, middle to end with strong memorable moments. Enchanted Parade was much enjoyable in its own right.

There was little new lore or world building added to Enchanted Parade. It's a bland movie about nothing with minimal writing. They story never comes together. None of the main characters is related in any shape or form to the giant and the giant has no backstory, so the whole climax is gratuitous and serves no purpose other than having a climax. Compare it to the dragon the first movie, which directly Diana's fault, the spirit in episode 13, which had a backstory that added depth to the resolution, or the Noir Missile, which was explicitly Croix's doing. The friendships aren't developed because nothing new is learned about the characters, nobody grows or learns other than Akko and it was a simplistic character arc that isn't interesting at all compared to her arc in the TV series. Most of the movie was slow, boring and had little happening. It's just a big pile of nothing with good animation.

All LWA has always been about animation first and foremost.
I think everyone knows by now that the little witches of the OVA were meant to rapresent the young animators of Anime Mirai, and as a whole, as the first real project of Trigger, it was used to illustrate the objective of the studio: doing what they think is fun driven by passion first and foremost, regardless what anyone might think.
The TV series went into a more complex direction by integrating what was already in OVA in a broader discussion about the decline of traditional animation, the pros and cons new technologies and businness models, and a more in depth look at the creative process, like the relationship with the audience and especially the relationship with your idols, how to built an artistic identity without being overshadowed by them.

But the story does come together. It's simple and that works wonders for a one-hour-movie feature. Akko and co. receive a witch detention, decide to turn it into something fun like Chariot's show, friends argue but the show must go on, magical conflict occurs and friends reunite to save the show and the end. It flows wonderfully on its own ground (with some establishments from the first OVA like Shiny Rod) and shows a lot of present character interaction and dialogue.
As for the giant, it represented the dark nature of magic on its own as opposed to just mere human fault. It showed that while the witches are using magic to improve their daily lives or making a fun parade show, there is also a lot of darkness that just naturally co-exists because of that high potential in magic. Friendship and teamwork saves the day in this story as opposed to the others that involve just Akko learning new words and/or gimmicks to just landslide over that natural balance. I won't go into further detail on comparisons, but I just think Enchanted Parade is LWA at its core but with its own unique takes that steps up from its predecessor while its successor stayed away from.
