Heaven's Feel as a route is very unbalanced.
Most of it is really fucking boring melodrama with Sakura or cooking scenes, with a few great things like Kotomine versus Assassin.

Then by the time Sakura snaps and shit really hits the fan it becomes a fantastic climax with a bunch of great fights and memorable scenes

Dude, HF is constantly good. It's actually the only route whose various endings have very definite and separate flavors to them.
Normal ending: painfully sad, melancholic and 切ない
Best ending: Happy, a bit lewd and just peaceful
Mind of Steel: Consternation and "are you fucking serious?"
Sparks Liner High: "OH MY GOOOOOOOOOD!!!"

Tsukihime isn't a full psychological horror story though. Only the latter half of routes where most of the story involves Shiki being trapped in a bed.

It's the worst route.

Heaven's feel is the best route but the movies are garbage. I don't know who's the genius that thought making movies out of the longest route was a good idea.
The fags that defend it only defend it cos of the pretty pictures and music. They're no different than retards. The direction and pacing of the movie is atrocious.

Everyone parrots this but other than the common route cooking scenes there really aren't any cooking scenes that I recall where it's just about the cooking. At the start of HF there's cooking for Shirou to forget to eat with Sakura to shit on her some more. At some point Shirou observes Sakura cook but that's just there to show us what he wants to protect and how he realises he likes Sakura. There's some cooking the morning after sex but it recontextualises their morning routine after becoming a couple and Rider is around to discuss the war right after, too.

Sakura and Rin cooking together has their obvious bonding that was lacking in the route as a whole. There's another cooking scene where the whole point is that Sakura's body is very damaged and that prevents her from contributing as much as she'd like to, plus being told to fuck off in bed has made her be more stubborn about helping however she can and won't take a no.

The VN is garbage. Read a good VN like Tsujidou-san or Fureraba instead and play F/GO since that's the only decent thing Nasu has ever made.

I just finished the HF route, so I guess this thread is as good a place as any to discuss it.

Heaven's Feel is an important route from a narrative standpoint, but I can't say it was my favorite. After seeing Sakura in the other two routes, it was kind of a letdown how bad she was for senpai in the final route. I was also getting some serious jojo part 4 vibes in how badly things had to fall apart that shouldn't have just for things to align for Heaven's Feel to occur.

The movie was, I think, not handled as well as it could have been. To date I don't think any of the adaptions have really adapted any of the routes well, only acceptably at most. UBW had plenty of problems as well, for example (mostly towards the second half, admittedly, but they were there).

Fate route is horrible.

Now having read the VN, as a dedicated Saber fan, and having considered Sakura previously to be the "worst girl", I can tell you that Sakura is a much better character in the limelight than out of it. If Saber didn't get killed off early on she would have stolen the spotlight like she tends to do, so in a way I think having her removed from the story allows Sakura to actually shine. Out of the three girls Sakura is easily the most human of them. Now and forever I will always love and cherish my King. But I still must say:

I'm sorry Sakurafags.
I misjudged you and your heroine.
Sakura is not the worst girl.
It was I who was the filthy secondary.

Huh? It's pretty blatant that Sakura is unconscious and being possessed during the shadow scene. It also clears up the whole retarded misunderstanding that the shadow intentionally aimed for Shirou's arm, and Zouken's explanation of the shadow cuts the lies about it being Sakura's id and just states the facts about her being Angra Mainyu's vessel like Kotomine and Ilya do later on in the VN.

Surely you can't be talking about the alleyway scene. The film makes it more than clear that it's the shadow doing the killings and not Sakura, Sudou even went further and added in the original princess scene where she's in some dreamland eating candy while the shadow is committing the gruesome acts and killing Gil. As for Shinji and his death, that was her of own will and the first person she actually kills.

As long as we're discussing Fate, this series becoming popular has actually completely ruined the fanbase of it. I no longer enjoy talking about it here or anywhere else and I love everything it has to offer 10x more when I don't have to listen to other people's trash opinions on it.

Fate is meh, neither bad nor good, but features the cutest pairing.

UBW is good, not as great as some would claim, but features the best conflict and central theme among the three routes thanks to Archer.

HF on other hand has this strong case of edgy for edgy's sake, not helped by how Sakura is a pity case who's very thirsty for the Shirou dick. While not necessarily bad, it really makes her pale in comparison as a heroine compared to Saber and Rin. That said, she does have a more believable relationship with Shirou albeit somewhat toxic thanks to the situation.

On the contrary, any relationship other than it is toxic, as only Sakura is able to repair Shirou by making him give up the ideal that inevitably ruins him. Depending on eachother just shows the depth of their love, while Rin just comes off as a cheap fling who Shirou is deeply disgusted by as a person, and Saber's romance is plain poorly written to the point even Nasu admits it.

The movies assume to are not a retard and can understand it cuts a lot of the stuff you already saw and leave behind the pviotal moments. However, while not catering to retards, some did slip through the cracks.
