That's all for today, and for the third volume. Just one (big) one to go.

>ha, you lost the game
Fuck

>Ai's parents: please marry our daughter
>Hatchi's parents: are you sure you want to marry our son?

Thanks OP, this series is great.

Reminder to actually buy the Dark Horse physical release since it is actually well put together for once.

Too bad the second volume is $60 or more right now. Reprint when?

that's a weird cat

It's actually out of print? Glad I bought them when I did. Second time Planetes has gone out of print now.

Is this manga realistic? Do people die?
Is there a gore scene with a dead cat?

Seems to be. I have no idea why, if used copies are going for that much there's clearly still demand.

Requesting archive of previous threads:(

I just picked up a copy of each volume for msrp. Getting volume 1 is no issue, but 2 is out of stock pretty much everywhere, so I had to go backorder. Hopefully it's only like a month before I get mine.

All my usual sources aren't taking backorders, they just say it's unavailable.

The only lead I may have is one in a brick and mortar store. But it's pretty far away.

I just ordered from books-a-million. They took my money, so hopefully they'll get their order sometime this epoch.

shit, is that locksmith?

I'm sure the price is what people are asking, not what they are selling for.

>still demand
To be honest the series has a fandom, but not a large one. Historically it always suffered from poor sales.

Hachimaki is right to marry before the mission. Going: "Lets marry when I return from this potentially lethal and very hard mission that'll go on for 7 years", - is just one big death flag.

Who would be the ideal studio for a remake, SHAFT, Kyoani, David?

Smooth.

Thank you OP!

Thanks as always user.
>third panel
Baby don't hurt me. No more
I'm not sure what do you mean by "realistic" in a science fiction manga. But some people died in the first chapter, an astronaut killed himself in the second or third chapter, I don't remember.
When you put it like that, yeah you're right.

Looks like all volumes will be available in russian by april 10th. Unless vol.4 is going to completely destroy my current enjoyment of this, I'll probably buy them in a pack.

>Looks like all volumes will be available in russian by april 10th
What? Really? Looks like I know what I'm buying next.

store.otaku.ru/catalog/product/49568.html
I think they have vol 4 in full. It's listed as 330 pages and previous ones are in 200+ range.

I have first 2 volume in russian, they made really nice edition

>alt graph
I like these guys. If I throw money at them, will they translate YKK, I wonder.
not that I have any money

>will they translate YKK, I wonder.
YKK has too many volumes so I don't think they will take it. Usually they take 1 volume seinen manga which is not very popular and don't give them too many profit.

>I'm not sure what do you mean by "realistic"
I read it's an hardboiled scifi manga
>Special care was given in Planetes for a very realistic depiction of space and space travel. For instance, when in a weightless environment, the frame count dramatically increases in order to make weightless motion more fluid and realistic. Also, spaceships make no noise in the vacuum of space and astronauts routinely suffer from known space illnesses such as radiation poisoning, decompression sickness, cancer, brittle bones and mental illnesses spawned from isolation in the vacuum of space
Does it have all this elements?

>astronauts routinely suffer from known space illnesses such as radiation poisoning, decompression sickness, cancer, brittle bones and mental illnesses spawned from isolation in the vacuum of space
It has all of this, the other stuff has to due with animation though. It actually shows the consequences of living in space and how dangerous of an environment it is.

So the anime is more complete?
> While the manga deals more with existential themes, and humanity's relationship with space, the anime further expands the political elements of the story.

>So the anime is more complete?
Not really. It diverges from the manga and feels much more silly. It has more focus on some of the people in charge but it's not more serious or anything.

there are also some references/easter eggs of another anime: Futatsu no Spica
Maybe I should watch it too

There at at least a few completed sales on ebay for around $60.
