Why is Fate/Zero considered by many to be objectively superior to Fate/stay night?
>Waver - He joins to prove himself and his theory that you do not need to be a thoroughbred magus like Kayneth with several generations of inbreeding behind you. >Kayneth - joins the war and expects MUH HONORU and gets BTFO >Kiritsugu - joins the war and just expects the holy grail to just fart out world peace despite his entire life being fucked over by magic >Ryuunosuke - haha murder is COORUxD >Tokiomi - I'll summon a super prideful servant and literally do nothing surely that will make him happy! >Kariya - If I enter this war SURELY shady fucking Zouken will let Sakura go! >Americans think F/Z is the best because it has adults and lots of action
People mentally older than 14 don't enjoy Shirou or stories following Shirou.
Oliver Green
Saber getting berated by Iskandar while Gil laughs his ass off was the best part of Zero.

fsn is chunni shit

>Why is Fate/Zero considered by many to be objectively superior to Fate/stay night? Fate/stay night was a little too shonen and juvenile for my taste. But when Fate Zero adaptation came out in 2011, I think Type-Moon really came into their own, maturely and deeply. With his thought-provoking themes and mature setting, Fate Zero makes immediately clear that this production does not only match its predecessor but far surpasses it in every way imaginable. He's been compared to Hideaki Anno, but I think Gen Urobuchi has a far more bitter, cynical and nihilistic sense of humor.
Their most accomplished show and undisputed masterpiece "Fate/Zero" brought a lot of new fans into the franchise. A show with battles so catchy, most secondaries probably don't even try to comprehend the deep meaning of the story. But they should, because it's not just about the powerlevels. It's also a complex and philosophical statement about the nature of mankind.
This is a copy pasta from /alter/. Please don't bite the stale bait.

The simple concept of world mage war without schoolers made an immense improvement. Doubt F/Z is more popular than the original in Japan but here that change is more than welcome.
What is funny is to see people seething at the lack of "character grow", when only one mage was a student while the rest had jobs and families.
Michael Hernandez
Because FZ is literally FSN done right.
David Kelly
It is honestly because of its shallowness that Zero seems deep. The constant ideological discussions is not only surface level but makes the characters themselves less deep because that ideology/belief is all they have. While in stay night every character also has a fundamental belief just like Zero, but there is more that drives them than that.
Brandon White
>Doubt F/Z is more popular than the original in Japan You serious user? F/Z sold twice as much as UBW.

This. Shirou is a bumbling attempt to take a shounen protagonist, make him a commentary on shounen protagonists, while still keeping him a shounen protagonist.

>He had no human way of knowing that the grail was corrupted by Angry Manjew. If it wasn't actually corrupt everything would have been worth it and justified The grail is just a infinite mana source. How would it have actually achieved world peace?
Justin Reyes
>While in stay night every character also has a fundamental belief just like Zero Like the 20 villains who are evil "just because they are evil." For comparison, team caster was by and away the lowest part of Zero, and even that would have ranked among the top character motives in FSN. Face it, FSN is written for an audience 5-10 years younger than Zero
Colton Parker
See kids, this is what contrarianism and unwarranted elitism to the point of delusion gets you: genuinely arguing that a shonen eroge VN had more depth than Zero.
Logan Gutierrez
No one in stay night is evil just because, except for Gil and Angra Mainyu.
Nathaniel Torres
Zero is written for the exact same audience though. And are you implying that the rest of the writing automatically gets worse because it has sex in it?
This. The characters in Zero are shallow and one-dimensional as fuck. Literally the only character with some semblance of nuance is Kirei.
Kayden Nelson
>100+ hours with 30 mins combined sex scenes VN with more words than whole LOTR trilogy has little depth while fanfic by suffering porn writer who misinterpreted all characters has more yeah no, zerofags are pathetic, and it's coming from a former secondary who saw zero first and only later read the original vn - zero it's pretty but that's it, not even best ufo's work KnK is miles better
It does though. Zero had the potential to be better than stay night but it failed. It focuses on an ensemble cast but most characters have no depth beyond their initial motivation and ideals. I'm not saying FSN is deep, but by being a traditional story that focuses mainly on Shirou and his confrontations and decisions it's automatically better because it at least works.
Isaac Ward
>unironically thinking Fate/Zero is better than Heavens Feels route
Your flawed concept always refers to "man up" or acquire messiah complex traits. Those are not possible on a show that take less than a month? from start to finish, with characters having years of life experience outside controlled environments like schools.
Anthony Powell
Angra Mainyu has a reason to be evil/angry
Connor Perry
yikes
Logan Morris
>world mage war >sacrificial ritual that was set up and always held in the same remote, obscure japanese town
Yeah, but the entire point of the character, or concept, is that he is evil no matter what. The brief backstory isn't really that different than making the bad guy a sociopath.
Stop copy and pasting your shitty posts over and over again.
Joshua Hill
It's funny cause every single F/Z character was more of manchild despite being an adult than entirety of SN cast, which only strengthens the notion that every zerofag only cares about shallow appearance visuals and le epicness and refuses to see nothing like substance beyond appearance
>Fate/Zero is edgy! People who say this are guaranteed to never have read Tsukihime, hate HF and eat up FGOshit. HF is definitely on par with Zero if not better, but there is no denying that Fate and UBW are juvenile pandering trash with writing on the level of shounen manga. Nasu sold out with them far before other works like Extra and FGO rubbed it in even further, with HF being the one route in the VN he put his soul into writing, only to break and give up on writing profound stories thanks to virginityfag manchildren ripping him apart for daring to make a rape victim the true heroine and pointing out that heroism is just a shallow justification to murder innocent people like Sakura.
Elijah Perez
Based trips of retarded edglord delusion take off your suffering glasses brainlet
If the only part of Fate you like is HF and Zero you are definitely only liking it because of edge. Since that is the only thing they have in common. In terms of writing HF have a lot more in common with Fate and UBW which makes sense because it is the same writer.

Kiritsugu and Kariya entered the war out of desperation. There was no alternative, other than going home and jerking off in a corner. Besides, they do call it an omnipotent wish granter. World peace or no, I can't fault Kiritsugu for trying to use it to make things better. Tokiomi bowed to Gil and sucked his dick at every opportunity, but I get that it's easier to criticize a show when you don't pay attention to it. That said, writing a story is not about making flawless characters. That'd be boring. I could understand the criticism if the story treated them as such, but it is well aware of their flaws and punishes them accordingly. I don't see why you're so obsessed with there being some sort of competition between FSN and FZ, anons, but I'd rather see us all get along.
Connor Evans
Why are you people discussing the worth of the the Fate atrocities? I'll give you a simple answer, none of them have any. They're literally just illustrated shitty fanfic-tier writing.
The only thing of any value to ever come out of the nasuverse was carnival phantasm.
mahboi, you're obsessed. Stop psycho-analizing two dimensional fictional poorly witten fictional characters and get a life.
Charles Cooper
The only sensible answer. Also, that japs have no fucking taste.
