I don't know what I expected but I was hoping for a pure onee-san love interest with Hyakkimaru but I guess it was too much to ask for in a series set in Feudal Japan. Anyone else had this feel?
I don't know what I expected but I was hoping for a pure onee-san love interest with Hyakkimaru but I guess it was too...
I just wanted her to be happy, but like you said apparently that was asking too much.
its awful bro. just got done watching ep 6. sadboi hours
I try not to think about all the old dudes who came in her holes when I think of that smile but alas
Was she older than Hyakki?
SAME!! I knew something was going on when she said she worked nights but I didn't want to believe it.
They never say her age but they look about the same. She might be a couple of years younger.
her party is over in 2 episodes
That doesn't mean we can't fall in love with her.
she got more development than her source material that was a few panels of a flashback cause every wandering hero needs a tragic love story.
she was less a love interest in this adaption but had more substance as a character. I'm not upset she's dead because of the love interest aspect but found her death tragic in its own right and well done.
>he's 16 in this version
>she could be a couple years younger
hmmmmmm
I agree but I can't help but feel saddened over it at the same time. The whole two-parter was done really well but it hurts.
I didn't know he was 16 but they don't say how old Mio is. She could be younger.
I was most surprised they actually went with showing the prostitution angle, not because it was unrealistic but that I thought they would leave it really vague and suggested. it made the whole situation hurt more.
they were about to leave for a new place to live and start farming themselves. tragic. good job to the writers working that plot into the present this time instead of a short flashback.
agreed
She deserves it
FUUUUUUCKKKK!!!
You could say they gave her fire :^)
Mio has the purest soul tho
what other work could a fucking women provide soilders?
Despite being fully aware that this setting was made for suffering, I'm invested enough to hope for a happy ending to this adaptation as a whole.
Maybe something nice will happen.
Meh, typical stuffing a woman in the fridge shit.
Ready for more suffering after such a nice episode.
>the hymen in her heart was still there damn it! she was pure! how was she suppose to feed her kids!? huh
kek
well dororo and hyakki are soulmates after all, it wouldn't be the first happy ending in an adaption
shuddup Yang, you're drunk.
>still has her hymen
>thinking the hymen goes away because of sex
please never have sex with a woman
Dororo will be the MC after Hyakki dies. 2 cour basically confirmed this.
In the manga her party is over in 6 pages or less.
why would they kill him off before the finale of the show, if at all? what adaption has done that and made dororo the mc through the rest?
It's what Tezuka would have wanted.
>Feudal Japan
>Happiness for females
i cant really imagine how that would work
Virginity is a concept invented by Christians.
>Implying she wasn't happy doing her job
It's not the first time I see anons bring this up in Dororo threads, do you have a source? Did he stated this in some old interview?
One part that really bothered me was the realism of the situation.
Like I'm sure what happened to Mio must've happened to countless innocent women throughout history.
She and the kids didn't deserve it. Its just way too fucked up.
I hate that this is a possibility even though I don't think it's likely. I'm starting to doubt its validity as a scrapped ending because nobody ever has a source but it'll be in the back of my mind for the entire second half of the show.
Is there a woman in Dororo who didn't suffer?
>Hyakkimaru's mom forced to abandon the child she just gave birth to
>Ojiya living a miserable life but still trying to do her best to protect Dororo
>Osushi witnessing her brother being possessed by a cursed sword and dying in front of her, she's alone now
>Mio
The spider demon girl and the bride are original characters and had a happy/neutral ending, they don't count, but I could name a few more there are in the manga.
It's not a scrapped ending though. Dororo got axed way before Tezuka could kill off Hyakki and make Dororo the main protagonist. This is why the manga had an unsatisfactory ending.
exactly
But do we have some sort of confirmation that that's what he was planning, or do people just speculate? For all we know he was planning a happy ending all along.
Yeah, that's what horrors of war is user, no some prideful richboi wanting to find glory on the battlefield. A mother scavenging the dead for food to feed her baby, a young girl selling her body to feed crippled orphans. The worst is you can't even place blame and channel your rage on someone in particular, everyone just doing their best to survive, it's just helpless senseless suffering. Show makes a point - no matter if you keep your pride or forfeit it for greater good - the end might be the same - more suffering and eventual death.
