Really? I mean it wasn't bad, but I liked it more for the batshit insane action. That shit was on another level, pretty vile at times but a thrilling watch
Never seen it. Is it a period piece? If so, how's it compare to, say, Sword of the Stranger?
I genuinely don't know what "period piece" means, do you mean whether or not the show has a big focus on historical accuracy?
The shows selling point is its brutal action and atmosphere. Its really fucking tense, but it also feels suprisingly realistic, everything has impact and not a single sword-swing is wasted.
This is a shitty dubbed re-upload, but watch this scene and you'll know what I mean
youtu.be
It is a period piece. I believe the main message was to show how absurd the ruling class in Japan was during that time.
How does it compare to ninja scroll?
It doesn't. Its mostly 70% tense atmosphere and 30% fucked up action while Ninja Scroll is more of an action joyride
I wish they would have finished the story. Who wins the match presented in the first episode?
Truly a shame that the anime will never be finished. It was damn fine show.
Read the manga if you want to see the rest.
But anyway, Fujiki wins the match.
The story is from a book that's suppose to critisise the samurai way of life and rules of "honour"
jesus christ dont ruin it by showing him a dub
thanks
i hate manga actually lol
Yeah it really shows how retarded and alienating loyalty and pack mentality can be.
They're all paranoid, submitted to a literal insane old man who almost raped his daughter.
The anime doesn't do the Manga justice.
Secondaries are trash
They lived in such a bizaare awful world.
If only the author didn't include so many pointless characters between the first and second duel
this and lone wolf and cub
It's just the first part of the series so it ends on the cliff hanger. It's a novel series, adapted into manga, adapted into anime.
wait. What? Is there more? Where can I find it?
this series made me glad I wasn't born during feudal Japan
they're not 'loyal' to the master, but only loyal to the code of samurai
