The only time the MC isn't the cynical butt of the joke is in the final few chapters. I'll start from where your post left off. After the MC learns that the mother's love for him was always a gigantic lie, he tells Kanau to go back to her mother's house and falls into some existential stupor where Megane has to feed, clothe, etc him. Megane finally gets over her autism, kisses the MC and knocks him out of his stupor.
MC retrieves his testicles then goes to the doctor's and Kanau's mom's house to get Kanau. After a bunch of autistic screeching by the mother, Kanau in the end agrees to go back and live with the MC until she's 18 or whatever. There's a timeskip to a few years later to when Kanau is entering middle school, some dumb exposition that doesn't matter occurs and some recycled jokes, THE END. Omake is timeskip Megane being a sucessful mangaka and apparently had a kid with the MC.

Whether that makes up for the rest of the manga for you is a delicate question

It was only when she was canned, told to wrap it up in a volume that she basically went back to the story status quo. You could tell it was canned before she planned it to, because they aborted several story arcs, including the many many hints about Rin being the second childhood friend, and they rushed the end.

I'm a lot older now but honestly there are so many bad manga series out there. I used to think it was shit like bad shonen and other bullshit crap but they at least have a minimum grade value.

All the scenes in the web novel where MC and vampire loli bone while the other haremettes know/watch/walk in/react with jealousy etc was just adding insult to injury in the worst way too.

I actually didn't mind the plot pacing of when he met up with his class again, but the reunion with Kaori was also lots of wasted potential given the series' initial set up. Her schtick with Yue works better had they reunited earlier, yet that conflicts with meeting the class at a good, not entirely shoehorned in time. Its a weird conundrum.

It was a deus ex machina suffering ending for the sake of having a suffering ending. She seriously could have just moved out, since that's what they make her do anyway. You know, like normal people do once they graduate highschool anyway?

Karin is effectively killed by the hands of her family, and despite Kenta going through all that shit to save Karin and prove he's trustworthy and everything, they reward him with with a mindwiped gf that thinks her parents died years ago, and tell him to live the rest of his life pretending he isn't living a lie. She's managed to live the past roughly 10 years or something like that on the outside kinda separated from her family, and now that she doesn't have her blood multiplying issue, and has several friends and a boyfriend on the outside, life and things should have only gotten easier. It's not like she will outlive her family or something. It's seriously just kicking her down as far as they could at the highest point of her and Kenta's life.

Seriously an ending like this makes Kuma Miko's ending look like Machi won the lottery. At least when Machi got mindbroken she was at pretty much the lowest point in her life and the future wasn't particularly looking like it was going to get better.

Uka wants to live with Touka as a human, and unknowingly begins to reject her god powers, which makes Inari become less human herself, which would separate her from Koji. So, Touka decides to become a god to live with Uka. It's sad in a way, that Inari doesn't keep her friend (Uka), and that Anzu and Yuriya also don't keep contact with Karin.
I imagine that someone who watches the anime first might like it, but for people who wanted to see what the animated version of the manga looked like, it could be a partial disappointment because of adaptation compression; and even so, the anime didn't get far into the manga, the anime ends at vol 4/10.

First few chapters were a generic story about a nerd befriending a gal and teaching her to clean. After 7-8 chapters, the student council president was introduces as a love rival and we were shown a flashback where she fell in love with MC.
Said flasback consisted in like 8 mini-chapters of her getting molested and almost raped only to be saved by the MC (who helped her escape the school by putting her in a trash bin).
Then we got two chapters of cheap drama and the manga ended.

Manga got axed so the mangaka went on a rampage deleting his Twitter and throwing in a rape arc where a newly introduced girl almost gets gang banged by two delinquents. Oh and the rape scene went on for 4 chapters (although technically it was .04 chapters since the mangaka was using decimals to delay the axe).
