Manga ending was just really anticlimactic desu, especially with the big fight beforehand. Though it was kinda suspenseful in the way that it made you think the whole main cast died from the sea of madness/black blood/whatever it was I can't remember exactly

Early manga looks like shit but later chapters are gold in terms of visuals, Ohkubo's style is great.
Stein is a fantastic character, one of my favourites to this day.

I highly recommend to start directly from the manga, or at least drop the series on ep 20-21 and go to manga vol. 7.
