Tarou believes Ririsu is still in Japan. When they went to her manor to see her, Ebino had asked if she was still in the country. Harisuri the butler said that she was simply not present in the manor at the moment, which was not a hard denial. Ibusuki is supposed to return home with her mother, who still has business in Japan facilitating trade between Japanese and foreign companies, so Tarou surmises that she is probably still in Japan. He says he will go see the butler to confirm.

As he's getting ready, Ebino lays a jacket on his back, and tells him he'll freeze to death if he goes out dressed as he is. She gives him a scarf as well, and asks if he has gloves. Tarou tells her that there is a pair in the pocket of his coat, and asks if he could use them. Ebino sadly looks at them as she says "Well obviously, I gave them to you."

Tarou puts them on, and thanks her for helping him (and Eve) open his mind to realize the truth. She never told me how she really felt... even if she says she's my friend, that's not the kind of thing a friend would do. However, I don't know what it's like to live like Ririsu had do live. She had to hold these incredible feelings of terror and pain by herself, unable to tell anybody as she continued to keep her secret close. This was a battle she had to fight all by herself."

The Butler tells Tarou that he suddenly feels like going to see the ocean, and asks if Tarou would like to go on a drive with him. Tarou emphatically agrees.

However, Eve tells Tarou that she cannot go with him to see Ririsu.

Tarou is shocked, but Eve playfully says she's just kidding.

No, the story until now are mere build up for Tarou's own story. Especially the grandpa's one, which is a direct mirror to Tarou's story. What does Tarou learn about his grandpa's story is more important than if the grandpa is reunited with his zombie or not.

Life goes on. If Tarou doesn't get either Ebino or Ibusuki, that's okay too. What do he learn from it and how it change his character is far more important. The author may give one of the girl as a reward for reader after seeing Tarou's character developed though, and that's fine too.

I guess she came to love him regardless with the time they spend together and she'll accept him, but from an outsiders perspective there is nothing Tarou could do to make up for that, which he knows btw and that's why he needs push from both Ebino and Eve to confront her.

The problem was that part was only revealed literally at the last few chapters, especially that part with the curse. I didn't even know broken zombies can cast curses now. That's why I'm calling it an asspull. What next? Ebino is a goddamn wizard?

She was created right after Ibusuki asked him to tell her "I like you Eve" again, and right before they had their kiss, Tarou got his heart broken, so basically non-broken heart Eve lasted for a few seconds
Also, in onee-san's chapter it was stated that Tarou's personality had changed when Ibusuki went overseas
Now thinking about it, it was by then that the author mentioned about beign the last arc, so it was dragged since back then

When you put the manga in the dumpster, or when MC has been burnt beyond recognition.

It was made by the author as a way to say goodbye from the character

I do think that they wont end up together.
Eve will dissapear, Ibusuki will go back to overseas with her mother (without beign able to see FLZs anymore) and Ebino will move on.
And everybody will be OK with that

Though Tarou will still see all the first love zombies and will end up like his grandpa except he won't have his own.

Its especially annoying in OSK and in Hatsukoi Zombie where they go way out of their way to pander to the fans of the "rival girl" since she drives sales, even going out of the way to dedicate chapters and entire story arcs that they probably otherwise wouldn't do if she wasn't so popular.

A normal love triangle would play out the same even if the rival wouldn't be popular

There is a stark difference in storytelling where someone has a love triangle and uses it as a point of conflict to move the story forward compared to pandering to the fans of a character (to keep sales from falling) and drawing out character development and story arcs just to give them more focus.

It is a popular thing in soap operas, whether, J-Drama, C-Drama, or any American Soap opera, to change arcs to feature a popular character more. A manga-ka is not immune to that, if a rival character is more popular, even if they are against it, the editor is more likely going to pressure them to extend certain arcs, or to feature them more heavily in the content that they otherwise wouldn't.

Just look at Ebino, her sole purpose was fanservice and to be a foil for Ibusuki. Her role ended a long time ago, but she kept on popping in to give the sales a boost here and there.

They come up with the dumbest conspiracy theories so they can feel righteously indignant. What a main character is being kept around in a story? Those devious bastards.

Outside of a few fanservice parts which I admit might be bigger because of her popularity I don't think her role in the story got bigger because of it

The authors aren't trying to trick you into only following it because you believe the villain is going to win. That is just standard dramatic structure. Merch is another story of course.

If only more manga-ka had the courage to fight against the bad advice of editors. Don't get me wrong, editors are great since they can tell a manga-ka is going full stupid, or they need to polish their work, but sometimes the editors say and do stupid shit, like those LN authors who force the creator to create incomprehensible and stupid long titles.

Not saying that Ebino, should have won, her mere existence was pandering fanwank and she was way out of league for the main guy. The disastrous and unhealthy relationship between Ibusuki, Eve, and Tarou shouldn't have been front and center, and the way it developed was equally bad.

No. That would mean it's Eve's fault. Why you can't seem to grasp that the ability to see First Love Zombie is beyond Tarou's control is, well, beyond me. Tarou didn't ask for Eve to curse Ibusuki, Tarou hardly knew of Eve's existence. In fact it's even stated the reason Tarou became the way he did for those 10 yeas was because of Eve's influence. It's not Tarou's fault. It's not Ibusuki's fault. All the blame falls on Eve. She's the villain in all of this and Tarou and Ibusuki are the victims. Neither of them asked for this.

Your first love zombie is just a part of you. That's part of the reason why Eve turned into Tarou to tell him the truth. She isn't even a special zombie, and neither is Kyouko. It's Tarou and his grandpa who were special. And because they were special, they shaped their FLZ to seem independent and sentient. But they really aren't.
