New episode's out.

Holy fuck Joji is such a bro, for one moment I thought he was crying for Hana
wait it is a 2 day race? what the fuck
shindo is a fucking beast
Why is the animation of this so good?
Kinder is anaerobic runer
This fucking show man, The ending is gonna break my heart I can already feel it.
The twins and Hana situation is a little fucked up to be developing this late on in the anime.
Yuki is going to carry the team
Shindo is the man. Pulled through like a hero.
Because it's Production I.G
I've been watching anime for half my life and this is the first time a show moves me like this. I've been listening to the OST the last few days and it gets me emotional.
Ok, considering the title of next week's episode, who is going to be sacrificed in order to recover those 42 minutes from their total time?
>42
when is this said?
Man these threads are so fucking dead. Fuck this board
>tfw he sees your asshole
>psss hey you two!
>you like jogging really fast?
Usually, each section of Hakone takes around one hour. Based on that and them aiming for the top, 42 minutes.
if they're to win this kakeru and haiji will have to fucking soar
what a fucking bunch of losers, Kakeru is the only one able to enter the zone
>win
I don't think thats even possible at this point
gotta believe!
All I know is that regardless of how it turns out in the end, I will cry like mad when I see Haiji reaching the goal.
but at what cost? ;_;
Shindo-san and Haiji are just so good!!!
>Haiji reaching the goal
>I will cry like mad when I see Haiji reaching the goal
>but at what cost? ;_;
Haha guys, chill, we still have 3 more weeks ;_;
Shindo is man.
I hope this thread isn't flooded with sourceplebs not tagging their spoilers properly like last time. Cunts.
Shindo is fucking ded
>ran 20km in that condition
>woke up after a like 2 hr relatively fine
He basically should be. Goddamn superhumans
Runnig with snot is not that hard
Reminder that Haiji is my boyfriend.
He had japanese cold. He should be deader than dead
>snot
You should try to post more, then. Not just complain about the problem. There's some anons that watch the episode a few hours later, so having the thread alive for more time may help it have a little more discussion.
>his face after taking Musa's cock all night long
Why is King running? because Shindo smiled at him?
It's depressing, it's not the kind of anime that attraction discussions, but at least you would expect it to max at least the episode's thread.
It's genuinely well done and put together with great, satisfying writing, easily one of the best sport anime ever.
Is what I am doing. But last week thread died at like 40 posts after such good episode. It's ridiculous
I haven't been in the past few threads. Sorry, user. Life got in the way.
I didn't know what an husbando was until I met Haiji.
Doesn't this show have production issues? At least, I've seen some sakuganerds on twitter say so.
I'm just glad it didn't actually end with local slut ruining everything
I mean, it still might, but it didn't in the way I was fearing it would.
>has money
>fit af
>knows how to cook
>makes you fit
Im not gay... BUT
>sleeping with the sick person
Genius planning.
What?
This anime has been very meaningful to me since the beginning. Had there been more active threads I think we could have shared a great experience, but it's been like this for months and obviously it won't change now. At least I'm happy that the very few anons who watch the show continue to enjoy it as much as I do.
That's what I heard as well but watching the show I never would've guessed it. Looks good as always to me. Maybe I have bad eyes, idk.
Junkie.
So is the ginger bitch showing up?
His character development and the evolution of their relationship is so good.
The only episode I actually thought looked bad was 14. Or 15. I don't remember the number, but you probably know which one I'm talking about.
It's just that I feel like complaining like that adds nothing to the thread, so you should try to make more interesting posts, like if you tried to ask or understand why the threads are so dead, but we already had that type of discussion before. There's not much to do now that the anime is ending. Just wait for the last episode and we will probably get a livier thread.
Probably next episode running against Kakeru or Haiji.
I felt that conversation a little bit forced
>fit af
Didn't someone on these threads said he was too muscular for a running athlete?
>has money
I doubt this, he's even wearing the same fucking clothes in every episode.
You are right, they should have kissed after it.
Blame the fujoshits
The one where Prince managed to get an official record? That's the episode 14. Yeah, I agree. That's the only one that felt weird bit weird to me. That episode was outsourced iirc.
The running animations aren't as good as some previous episodes (namely the training camp episodes) and the faces look a bit off sometimes but that's about all I ever notice. It's no trainwreck like pic related, that's for sure.
Imagine him running against fucking Nico or King.
Now seriously, I would be nice having him at section 6, against Yuki
>has money
>I doubt this
that motherfucker was getting groceries for 10 people
Yeah, that's the one. The running has been kind of unremarkable, but next episode looks pretty good judging from the preview.
Hana showing up at the end of Jota's leg of the race and him bragging to Joji didn't cause Joji to massively fuck up his section
Ok, I rewatched some scenes from earlier episodes now and I can see that there's been some downgrade in quality. Recent episodes feel kinda stiffer than the earlier ones but nothing really major. Good thing that IG has good talent to still make it look good.
>Tfw watching Shindo do his section while also feverish
Jesus christ is it even possible to run 20km like that?
I wish they had showed Shindo's family again at the end, they looked so worried and devastated it was heartbreaking.
I want to believe everything will be alright, but I still fear that Haiji's knee will blow up or something and he'll never make it to the goal. While realistically at worst I suspect it to be a kind of "you can finish this but you might not be able to run ever again" type of situation, but nevertheless I think he's going to suffer one way or another. There's no way I'm going to be fooled into thinking he's getting a happy ending just like that.
not even the deadly japanese cold can stop a gar man's hotblooded desire to climb the mountains of hakone
I feel like it's all been building up to this being Haiji's last race. His knee is surely going to betray him.
Fuck why is this making me cry? The direction for this show is on point. I don't think I've ever been this emotionally touched by a sports show. Usually when they ganbatte through an illness or some sort of handicap the show will try to get you pumped up but this was so tragic. I guess it's a bit personal for me as well since I was in a similar situation when I was an athlete in high school and we had no substitutes, but god damn this episode hurt my heart.
Cute hair
>There's no way I'm going to be fooled into thinking he's getting a happy ending just like that.
Even if he doesn't manage to finish the race he still won Kakeru's boipussy so he's definitely getting a happy ending one way or another.

I really found funny episode 19
>be Jota
>Hana came to cheer me
>mfw Hana likes me
>climb ranks because too excited to live
>see me brother
>gotta tell him Immediately because we tell each other everything
>spend 1h after my section thinking on her
What?
And how's that Hana's fault?
There is no way he's going to be alright, and naturally he can't win. At least he has a future as a coach, hopefully Kakeru's.
Im glad i didn't drop this back when i thought it was just fujo bait. Its still pretty gay but the ride has been pretty good.
I think he means to say that the average user sees a sports show and immediately thinks its fujoshit because there's an all guy cast and lots of gay fanart so they don't even give the show a chance. That's the logical reason at least.
>he's going to suffer
user but he is fulfilling his dream of running with frens.
And that's how fujos' fault anyway? Maybe anons should stop being insecure. The show is not even gay beyond some naked fanservice and some tender moments between the boys.
And of curse they are going to market these shows to fujoshi, they are the one buying the DVD/BD/Shitons of keychans.
I hope one of his other dreams is a life-long limp.
Is Tsurune like this?
It's exactly like this but half as long, extremely gay and way, way worse.
I've argued for eons about sports shows not being fujoshit with other anons. They just don't give a fuck. A cast that isn't primarily cute girls is just gay to them, especially when it comes to sports. In their eyes it's fujoshits' fault for simply existing.
Tsurune was a pile of shit, it's nothing like this.
>Is Tsurune like this?
No, it's a generic LN with high school boys with different LN stock personality. YoI is probably the only thing similar to it since it features a more adult cast.
Tsurune is more SoL and gay, I actually liked it, but it was not that good.
It likely just flew under the radar. Just make threads for it and if it's really as good as says then it'll pick up steam eventually. I think most people realize it's relatively rare for a show to be consistently praised on Yea Forums, since the board is (for the most part) immunized from shilling, If it's any consolation, just seeing this thread and these posts in the index was enough for me to at least give it three episodes, and it's likely I'm not the only one.
No, not at all. I dropped that show 4 episodes in.
So... Joji or Jota?
Yeah but it's absolutely miserable and to top it off you'll be going way slower so the misery lasts even longer. I've done some runs while sick, the adrenaline will at least keep you awake while running but once you finish you'll probably puke or pass out if you didn't constantly shove down electrolytes.
Shindo is a fucking chad, I loved seeing how all the hard work this team has done really has been paying off. The characters are great, glad I stuck with this show!
Yeah this pretty much sums it all up
Yea Forums just hates any sports anime because they're too fat and autistic to play any sports themselves
it's gay but it's heartfelt gay
Is not Hana 3 years younger than the twins?
BLOWING!
I think she's at her last year of high school?
Also Hana in the book goes to the same University.
Both.
Haven't the episode names always been kinda vague?
Get in line.
>they say Prince's pace was 3:07/km
>tfw Prince is already running sub-16 5K's during his 20K race leg
Prince is the biggest chad of them all. How can one even manage to improve so much in less than a year?
I ship him with Kakeru.
had the power of waifus and bros on his side.
I don't think it flew under the radar. Some things factor into why this show doesn't have constant threads:
>one cute girl with little air time
>original story (not an adaptation)
>sports
Feel free to add to this list.
This makes me wonder, are women watching this show?
I thought this was an adaptation of a LN.
I mean, I'm not complaining If Kaze thread always ded around 100 posts.
It's way better than forcing it to hit the bump limit but with cancer-like quality posts, since nu-Yea Forums is complete shit these days.
Holy shit, it is an adaptation. Not of light novel though, just a regular novel.
There was also a manga adaptation but that one has never been translated yet. The anime is the first real exposure to westerners. I'd really like to read the novel though.
The sudden influx of sports anime 4-5 years ago + a lot of notable fujoshi shows with the same theme killed the genre.
Sports anime have never been popular in the west.
I hope this bitch regrets breaking up with best boy.
Imagine getting cucked by jogging
>Feel free to add to this list.
After watching 3 episodes I'm not hooked at all, so it fails the 3 episode rule. Still going to watch because it might get better later and I've got nothing better to do anyway, but so far it's not really impressive.
bet she's begging for him to come back, after seeing him in all his glory on national television
Just drop it.
>sudden influx of shitty sports anime*
The other day I started thinking "is this the best sports anime since Haikyuu/Ippo S3/PPtA?" and I realized the genre as a whole has been mostly shit for the last 5 fucking years. Everything since then has been either trash, completely unremarkable or fujoshit.
Watching Shindo keep going was inspiring. that man truly kept running until he was going to break.
it's either all girls or all boys sports teams, and if its all boys its almost always setup as fujobait
Gurazeni was like a season ago, Major 2nd was 2 seasons ago. Even Hanebado!, despite its shortcomings, had its high episodes, 3 seasons ago. You barely even watch anime or just fucking hate it, because you hate yourself.
No fucking shit, that's like how most sports work, because of obvious biological reasons.
my point is if you want a sports anime to be popular on Yea Forums you have to go all female, otherwise you get dead threads like these or all fujo posts.
It was pretty shit
the power of god and anime on his side
it amazes me you missed the point this much?
hell reach it, even if he has to ruin his legs forever to do it
Who else wants lewds of Shindo and his sister?
satan is right, you know?
The cutest boys.
>the genre as a whole has been mostly shit for the last 5 fucking years.
You think that's bad, try being a mecha fan.
Fucking everyone is best boy. How is that even possible?
>A sick boy running in a running anime is making me tear up
Well done Japan
More like 風邪が強く吹いている
Diamond no ace is great
Is this supposed to be like Prince of Stride?
That doesn't mean all female exclusive sport series are bad
When I saw that I wasn't sure if they meant the total team time was 5:42 or if it was just Shindo's section that took 5:42, but now I notice that they're currently 20th out of 21 teams so I guess it was the former and maybe there's still a glimmer of hope. I do wonder what happened to the last team though.
So, since they were not setting up Kakeru with Hana, WHAT THE FUCK did this scene mean?
If it's all fujo posts is not dead.
You are reading too much into it, plenty of shows aren't popular on Yea Forums and barely get a thread. The core audience for this just isn't interested much in discussing it, and that's it.
Is this more focused on the comedy or on the sports?
Not so much comedy as it is over the top, although yeah there's lots of it. A vast majority of it is sports with some side-character moments of bonding/reflecting which naturally comes with fanservice stuff but that isn't the real emphasis on the series; it's like how Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru had that extremely homo first episode but isn't remotely what the show's about. It also has that "we're in this together" feel where even the non-main characters have fulfilling backstories and character development as they fight for their teams and control their emotions whilst playing so the matches are taken seriously (but again over the top). The latest match alone lasted 2 years in chapter releases since it was so important to one of the protags so it's not all fun and games either. What's really at stake in their matches are not only team wins but also character developments to make the players understand themselves and their friends/opponents better. Most importantly, the anime has a banger OST youtube.com
Some of the zoomed out running and the use of generic 3d models for crowd running have been pretty lackluster. Those things aside, a lot of the up close shots and animation have been very solid, occasionally reaching stellar quality in some key moments.
Nice, I'll give it a try. Thanks.
>worked hard since the very beginning
>always helped and organised funds
>could've been the mountain king
>fucking japanese cold on the big day
This is unfair bros
There wasn't anything homo about the first ep. Naked dudes aren't homo.
Damn,shit is hard to watch.
This episode brought back some pretty bad memories. I was on a college marathon team years ago and also got sick right before a race. I was supposed to be the #3 guy with a goal time of 2:42 but I couldn't keep pace at all. I had to stop at every portajohn because I couldn't stop shitting my guts out and eventually just dropped out at mile 20. At first I felt relieved from stopping, but fuck when the realization hit that I dropped out I felt like I was punched in the gut. Imagine spending months and months to train for a big race like Hakone only to fuck it up due to something largely out of your own control. Even worse is the feeling I let everyone down, sure the team can be supportive and cheery to make you feel better, but in your gut that feeling of failure is constantly weighing down on you.
Great episode.Struck right into my kokoro.
Jota is such a dick, holy shit.
At first I felt like this show was a little melodramatic, but now I feel like this is easily one of the best sports anime I've watched. What does this show have that shows like Haikyuu or Kuroko no Basket don't? Relatable characters?
10 best boys.
The writing is very down to earth. Also the protagonists were genuinely flawed people.
>Wind blows
>Got Cold
P O E T R Y
So, this is the meaning of the title. KEK.
>ruin your brother's mental state because you're so shit a girlo cheering you on is a novelty and you think it means she likes you
Why is he so shit
Is Hana going to turn out to like Joji instead for maximum NTR or not like anyone at all?
Nobody cares, fuck off to tumblr with your fujo shit.
She likes both.
giant killing was pretty good
Nothing gay about imagining random strangers streaking.
I love the fucking pencilwork it reminds me of Ballroom so hard
From what I read of Haikyuu and KnB, they're just battle shonen with the shape of a sport, it felt like you could practically change what the characters are playing and it wouldn't matter.
Kaze ga has the usual drama (which is particularly well done), but it also has lots of little things that show you what running is about.
tfw shindo runs sick the same as i do normally
>they're just battle shonen with the shape of a sport
Kurokok yes, Haikyuu no
>Haikyuu
I can't say much because I liked it more than Kazetsuyo, but having a school setting might turn people off.
>Kuroko
Dumb fun, you're there to see the over the top action and there's not much connection with the characters or story.
Kazetsuyo have realistic characters and (usually) more down-to-earth drama, also being setted in college, so it could be more relatable for those who are not in school anymore. Being based on a novel (not manga) also helps a bit the writing.
T-THE MOUNTAINS IN HAKONE ARE?!
I want Haiji to fuck me
Get in line.
I wonder if he was still faster than ouji.
