>Urasawa's magnum opus wasn't even his original work
That's pretty sad.

ironically, because it simplest urasawa works, it's his best works imho because no too dragged ultra convoluted plot that take too long to solve or left unresolved.

This.
I watched/read Monster and did not understand what the fuss was about.
I read Billy Bat and it was terrible.
But damn, Pluto is so goooood

I think that’s why it worked so well, he didn’t have to deal with the actual plot, instead he did what he does best, add character drama/depth.
I think it was particular good to see his version of Atom and and Dr Tenma’s relationship.

Surprised this doesn't have an anime yet.
The length is just about right for an ova series.

Maybe something to do with copyright?

It supposed to be getting an adaption in 2020 by MAPPA, however there hasn’t been any news about that since 2017.

Not sure if want

Depends on the director & and staff really, I’m not sure who could handle this project.
It’d be cool if Rintaro was involved. Also Urasawa is pretty strict about his adaptions.
