In the end it was both Shigeo that accepted his alter personality that he created because it was everything he wanted and Mob accepted Shigeo as his original self, that didn't want to be repressed.

3 different characters explain their powers unprompted. for how good the art is, the scripts are frustratingly amateur, and i mean legitimately amateur, as if written by a college student in a scriptwriting 101 class. every character has to explain every little detail that doesn't matter, like how hanazawa tells the guy from claw how he ended up sensing him in the park. there's so much dumb shit that the audience doesn't really need to know that is spoonfed to them for no real reason, sometimes to the point of actually hurting the show. the uneasiness surrounding the veracity of dimple's attempt to calm mob down would have actually been materialized if they didn't spell it out for the audience by having reigen ask dimple if he was lying or not. they didn't need to do this, especially since 5 minutes later it's confirmed his family is unharmed anyway. this is just redundant, useless writing and it's actively bad.

I liked it but it did Teru a disservice. He should've been 2-1 in battles but the one at his apartment was reduced to an eyecatcher.. I'm counting the waterboarding as a victory for him since he did it S1.

Now this is disappointing. I mean yes, everything makes sense and is well executed. It's just that I really hoped Mob Psycho had the balls and writing skill to actually pull of the sudden family death, Mob exploding and having to deal with all consequences. Instead of continuing to focus on Mob's character, here begins what appears to be last season's claw arc 2.0. Which is still good so far, just not the developement that could've pushed this series to become my definite all time favorite.

So like, the production values of this show are incredible, so much talent, and if anime where purely visual this would be a 10/10.

But fuck is the script and character writing complete dog shit, like it's actually just flat out stupid/unintelligent and poorly done.
It tries to make commentary and moral messages, but it says absolutely nothing interesting or thought provoking, and it always comes off as incredibly forced and unearned.

Then there's this weirdo, battle shounen shit tier writing, where some secondary character is always telling us how mob is feeling, or how awesome his power is, or what he is doing or how surprising that should be, as if any of those things would matter in a show that failed to establish any sense of consistency or weight to it's power bullshit.

This recent episode was easily the worst, throwing like 20 different characters on the screen, text overlays because they can't naturally devulge information, throwing around generic as fuck plot points, the entire conflict has zero meaningful build up, there's no reason for anyone to be interested in it, it's just all so incredibly forced, and fucking hell those tonal shifts are terrible, yo can't take any of it seriously, and it's not playing any of this for laughs either, it's just bad.

It's always been like this, but the SOL/ victim please feel sorry for are main character who is perfect and endearing was at least watchable.
Mob as a character is just easy low hanging fruit but it works seeing him in social situations and shit like that, but this entire session, beyond episode 1 has been nothing but the absolute worst elements of this series, it's legit 2/10, terrible written completely garbage, every single episode.

I might be in the minority with that but this might've been my least favourite episode of the new season so far which to be fair means it's "only amazing".

They tried to cram in so much into this single episode that I did not even have the time to process things or even build up emotional investment for all the things that were happening outside of maybe Mob's mental state.

Looking at who took care of this episode it kinda makes sense why things turned out the way they did but I'm still bumped out about it.

I hope we're met with a less hasty pacing for the rest of this arc otherwise it will be kinda hard for me to find any investment in what appears to be an event of massive scale.

The manga is just as bad, you confused yourself by paying any attention at all to this poorly conceived embarrassing excuse of a conflict.

The whole bad guy organization shit was poorly written from the start, and poorly used, there entire existence is so incredibly forced and lazy, as was this poorly written plot which is soley for forcing some kind of action, which also doesn't make much sense because the action in this show is so poorly written and choreographed.
We never got a good sense of what people can do, how much they can take, who's winning a fight or whose losing, or just basic passive rules that would bring weight or clarity to any of the action.
They just make things up as they go, and its all completely inconsistent.

But Reigen taking Dimple aside to interrogate him was a completely natural and 100% in-character thing for Reigen to do. Given how pragmatic Reigen is, and how effortlessly Reigen feels out social situations, it would've been weirder if he DIDN'T notice Dimple's bluff, weigh the options, then decide to play along while mitigating risk through rewording Dimple's claim.

couldn't you have addressed the plot elements coming together, like sho's motivations being revealed in a low-key way, scar preemptively attacked good psychics -> explains why sho showed up at mob's house -> explains why he burned the house down -> explains why those two goons had no idea what mob was talking about, sho wants mob to fight -> explains why he faked his parent's deaths, scar's leaders and goals, even the way those goals were revealed to the world had a perfect in-universe explanation (guy can control electronics), ie. the things i was talking about
