I just watched it, it's a nice movie

Don't lie, you'll download it as soon as the blurays are out.

It felt like a first movie of a series, which is understandable as an adaption. But kinda sad knowing that there wont be more of it, unless the dvd and bluray sales are for some reason going through the roof.
Maybe it will inspire more people to read the manga though.

her basedboy love interest however ruins every scene i smiled when they show his severed head, and kept smiling wider as they show his shitty robot body and how he dies like a bitch

It was.....actually not bad.

Too much was crammed into the movie (even at 2h 20+min) and ended up being undercooked in terms of emotional impact in every scene that mattered. But the story was still expansive and engaging even if rushed, it was pretty cool in an "Avatar but cyberpunk" way.

And against all expectations, they managed to make Alita convincing enough as a character to have the audience forget that freak 3D face.

I gotta hand it to their marketing team. The amount of shilling on this board has been unbelievable for the past couple of weeks.

IS the first movie I seen based on an anime that is someway faithful. Or at least is overall the same concept.
The usual thing is that series about martial arts end being movies about parallel dimensions or something that is completely unrelated to the source material. At least this one didn't do that.
