Finally some plot. It baffles me how can anyone even rate this series above 5/10. 2/3 of the content is filler and only the last 1/3 starts the plot just like in first season. Even the average seasonal trash have less than 50% filler. The animation isn't even that great either. It's easier to animate when the characters have lower details than your average morning cartoon.

Did they skip Hanazawa fighting the explosion guy or was it shown later in the manga? I can't remember.

I knew Bones would make Shimazaki a heart throb. Also I'm so glad they rushed through the battle with the literal who espers like I thought they would. Still this episode managed to be amazing.

In spite of of going way farther than anyone expected and even adding original scenes on top of it the pacing in this episode actually felt perfectly natural. This has actually driven up my expectations for this arc a ton. I'm so fucking happy this series is getting the adaptation it deserves.

It was a very strange episode. Not like i disliked it, but it feels...weird.
We are basically thrown into a huge pit of new unknown characters - ultimate 5, Boss, Shou's friends, government spies, another groupe that opposed them - with their own business we have to follow and it is so chaotic and confusing, pacing feels somewhat rushed(Teru with everyone in one scene - in the next one he is already fighting another esper dude). How could we jump from a simple marathon to like ~15 new characters and full-on world domination in one episode? Manga -readers may like it more because they are already familiar with the content and these new characters, but for me it feels so...messy

Mob's family being dead was hyped up way too much last week, it's fun to not spoil things to see animeonly react, but there's such a thing as going too far.

The pacing might have felt kind of fast which is always gonna happen when you're condensing so much content into one episode, but all things considered I think they did a good job of making it feel as natural as possible.

Yeah best part of this episode. Don't get me wrong I like this episode in general, but Reigen and Mob's relationship just really knows how to pull those heartstrings.

It dragged, but not this part with the introductions. It was just as fast to me. Luckily, you only need to care about the super 5 and Toichiro. The rest of the new guys are basically nobodies and everyone else was already introduced in Season 1.

It was for the best. Looking at how it came out it's quite impressive in how they did it. The beginning of this arc pales compared to the climax.

It's just really wholesome. It does a lot of things well. Animation is great on average, and the characters are intriguing - Mob and Reigen are flawed but extremely likable and endearing characters, Mob especially has such an earnest, refreshing goal that makes you want to root for him. The series takes over-the-top action, threats, and scenarios, and puts a psychological spin on things by making it so instead of being about the actual struggle of the fight, more often than not it's about Mob getting past his internal issues, and the threats being dangerous in that they are threats to Mob's state of mind, rather than to the world at large. Blending this whole "supernatural action" element with a coming-of-age story of personal growth and change is great, and getting to see Mob push through setback after setback with a good mindset and a positive friend network is satisfying and warm.

Why? I think it suits him.

While I have not read the last chapter myself, many people who did said that REIGEN feels more like an extended epilogue to wrap up the series, sort of like 21st Century Boys. I can see it being adapted into 2 episodes along with chapter 101.

Last chapter of Reigen? It's only out in Spanish at the moment. The series itself is sort of like an epilogue, only this time Mob isn't involved. Serizawa works for Reigen and is adjusted to normal people life and Tome has ghost adventures.
