Animals do all sorts of stuff but even if they gained sentience, those gorillas and rhinos and frogs and cats aren't overtaking us. But Hori seems to think that getting animal abilities or even control over elements means shit. Unless the heroes are intended to be dumb and later on someone points out that they should carry weapons, but that seems too smart for Hori.
Even the stronger Quirks like Todoroki's and Bakugou's are just mass destruction that can be replicated by your average military squad with rocket launchers, tanks and helicopters, and usually said mass destruction isn't even needed since it's better to snipe people or just use an assault rifle. Stain was killing people throwing knives, Quirks don't mean shit if you can't soak up damage.

As shit posting as it sounds, this is something Hxh got right. Even the strongest individual can get wiped out by bombs and an army and poison. Recently Hunters stated that even if they can resist bullets they aren't outright immune so they too can go down even if it takes a lucky shot,and people talk about assassination like just killing you in your sleep or the bathroom. Hori ignores a lot of stuff the Villains could be doing to win.
Heroes dying to common guns or cheap tactics doesn't usually happen in marvel and DC capeshit since heroes are stupidly op aliens and gods, or just have top tier security or hidden identities. But BNHA heroes are public celebrities and very human so it feels weird that Hori just ignores how vulnerable they are. The Stain stuff went nowhere, it should have been the wake up call.
