OK. So, I read the shitty awful WN(or was it LN?) and I fucking hate this story. Literally, nothing happens in hundreds of chapters except for the MC fucking his harem. The MC is actually a pretty normal dude and it neat to read about a guy who wasn't an extream. Like, he isn't edgy, beta, or alpha. But there isn't any story, and all the harem members suck after the dog. After the dog, they only exist for the MC to have other races to fuck. I dropped the story when he got the Elf who I believe is the final harem member.
How he gets to fuck the Elf is just the biggest load of bullshit I have ever seen. Before the Elf becomes a harem member she is unwilling to have sex with the MC. She is only a slave for some fake/temp reason as well. She really doesn't want to bang the MC. This goes on for chapters. Then the biggest bullshit happens. The dog has a conversation with the Elf while the MC is away. MC comes back and the Elf is ready to get fucked by the MC. The switch is fucking instant and it removes any character the Elf had. She literally becomes like the rest of the harem. Just another race for the MC to fuck.
It turns out the dog is doing some shit behind the scenes to make the harem run smoothly. But like, whatever the dog does makes everyone afraid of her. It started with the cat. The dog is like the head maid and she rules over the rest of the girls while the MC the Lord of the House. But it is never explained what the dog does. She takes the girls in the back for a talk, they get scared, and now they fully obey MC and are DTF. That was just such a shit moment. I was looking forward to seeing how the MC would break down the Elf into becoming a willing sex slave. I forgot to add that. All the other harem members were fine with having sex in their slave contract so the MC can have sex with them whenever he wants. But the Elf was different. She wasn't a sex slave like the rest. But after the talk with the dog, she is will to have sex with MC.

The first volume sold around 7-8k physical copies the first two weeks. That's pretty good even for an already established series, much less a new one. Isekai Maou was only selling 8-10k for the LN's before the anime came out. The manga volumes were selling 30k+ though. Going to be awhile before we see manga volume sales numbers for Taepodong.

Normally if they are sold into slavery they can choose to be a sex slave for an increased price, but that doesn't say anything about what happens iof they were born a slave. Does their original owner just make it automatic, because they get more money that way? The slave wouldnt' have a choice, or any way to benefit by being one. I want to write a story where the MC goes to an original superhero alt reality earth and his superpower is having game character powers. Such as not feeling pain when taking damage, ability to clip thru walls, and add larger hitboxes to things so he could walk on narrow platforms like they were wide. And like, his head can't get chopped off unless the strike does enough damage to kill him. Not totally original, but the setting I have in mind hasn't been done with this power.

Arbitrary skills piss me off the most, that aside, not much else. A character shouldn't have like cooking, knife handling, dismantling, skinning, soup making, cooking temperature control, salt measuring, and blah blah blah skills.
Language should also not be something as a given off the bat, or at least not thrown to the wayside as the character speaks every dialect of every language while nobody bats an eye.

is the latest chapter on Mangadex the most recent? the relationships with the MC are what stick to me the most (and make the prospect of the main girls getting fucked, either by him or some asshole, appealing since you're on the edge about it), I really like the MC's backstory/explanation of why he deserves that spot, his dad being a fucking conman is great and i'm currently thinking "did his dad actually die? or even better, did the MC actually fucking kill him after deciding he loved this new family?"

Either the MC has it unique to him (the Dungeon Master and Solo Leveling manhuas) or the world actually is shaped by it in a realistic manner - people understand that stats aren't the end-all be all, have explored the system's nuances to a reasonable degree given the system, level of communication, etc, and don't have any obviously false preconceived notions without some reason.
Everybody Loves Large Chests, Death Mage Who..., and even Shield Hero do it better than the generic Dragon Quest clone that's only "okay" as background noise for a genre parody.
