What was his name?

At least Araki realised he was shit and yeeted him out of the story instead of having him dragging things down.

what a mistake

why is everyone posting about cheese boy all of a sudden, yeah he didn't want to die so what

He's doing what 99% of people here would do

Cheeseholio

>introduce character
>use him once
>drop character
BRAVO ARAKI

Furious Fugo

What's wrong with that?

Really that's the majority of characters, they just usually die

Fucko

I am actually angry about this. His stand looked crazy dangerous with this fucked up virus. Sad he had only one weird action before outing.

He's too useful, imagine if kakyoin didn't forget he could do spooky shit with paintings or he can possess people with his stand

>tfw you're too intelligent to die for a girl whose taste in music you don't even know
bye bye traitors. have fun dying

Attached: 1551475979710.png (872x554, 860K)

Why even have him then? Answer something for me: What was Fugo's role in the story part 5? What did he contribute to the overall plot? What actions did he take that caused the story to be affected as a result? The answer is NOTHING aside from that one fight. Fugo could've been removed from part 5 completely and it would've played out and ended exactly the same. Even when he was there he was just there. What was the point? Goddammit, why didn't Araki go through with his betrayal, it would've been so much better than what we actually got. He doesn't have a character ark or even impact any of the other characters' development. He's just there and then he isn't, which would be okay if he was some throwaway side character, but he was a MAIN CHARACTER. Araki really should've gone through with that whole betrayal thing, because goddamn what a waste of a cool stand.

Well the difference is that they usually undergo a character ark, impact the other characters' development, or impact the plot in a meaningful way, but Fugo did none of those things.

arc, goddammit I'm tired.

And this is referring to main characters, not monster of the week villains.

man in the mirror should have killed his bitch ass

Wait for the Purple Haze Feedback adaptation. lol

Speaking of useless shit in part 5, is there any point to Giorno being Japanese and will that "I've transferred the damage you inflicted on my magic animal back to you" move he did on shovel bro in ep 1 ever be used again?

That's a very modest depiction of Fugo you got there

Attached: image.png (288x468, 66K)

>What actions did he take that caused the story to be affected as a result?
Only characters that impact the story are Giorno, Bruno, Polnareff and Diavolo.

>He doesn't have a character ark
Him leaving is just that you fucking low iq retard.

>but he was a MAIN CHARACTER
Except he wasn't.

>the character introduced as part of the protagonist's main team isn't a main character
tf are you on about
>"A character arc is the transformation or inner journey of a character over the course of a story."
Please explain to me what inner journey Fugo underwent and how him leaving shows this.

His role was to make the viewer understand the graveness of the situation. Betraying the organization means certain death, and no one would be stupid enough to even think about doing it.

That's fair enough, but I feel like the other characters already made that pretty clear. But I guess them defecting wouldn't have seemed like such a big deal if at least one of them didn't stay behind to put it in perspective.

His character arc ended on not being swayed by his emotions.

>Danny
>Santana
>A lot of the Stand Users DIO had under his rule
>Okuyasu's brother
Hi Newfag.

Do you guys think we're going to see Fugo again in the anime? DP have taken liberties with this part already and they've added a lot of extra lines for Fugo in general.

So he's introduced as being prone to emotional outbursts, and he leaves on being not swayed by his emotions, but when did he even undergo this radical change? That's what I'm saying, the barely any screentime that Fugo got is not enough to properly develop a character. It was like he was controlled by his emotions, then a switch flipped, then he wasn't. You can BARELY call that a character arc.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>And this is referring to main characters, not monster of the week villains.

>this faggot survives by being a quitter
>Narancia is killed offpanel
This is why Part 5 is the worst part.

Why are you laughing when fucking Rohan got a dozen OVAs?

Yes, in the Rolling Stones episode.

>offpanel
nigga what you see him getting his twink ass impaled

>casual as fuck kids who barely started watching anime get mad when a character in a shonen doesn't "follow the rules" of what a shonen character "should do"
Wow color me shocked, this never happens.
Araki the absolute mad lad sweeping shonenbabby's legs from 20 years in the past

>breaks the rules by having bad writing
The genius of Araki.

>I personally dislike it, therefore it's bad
The genius of user.

I've never read the manga because i find the animation superior. If i read it now will I enjoy the anime as much?

>no character arc
>no impact on the other characters
>no impact on the plot
>barely any screentime for a main character
You're right user, this is actually good writing, truly now I can see.

Not him but Fugo really is bad writing
The problem isn't that he didn't followed them, the problem is how. It was just "lol ok bye" while Fugo was mumbling in the distance

He doesn't though. You clearly see him getting punched in the fucking stomach. The quitter is NEVER seen again so we don't know if he survived and the LN is not canon.

He was uninteresting character and his stand couldn't be incorporated into the story beyond one fight. No wonder Araki dumped him like old bread.

Araki realised what a useless and hard to write stand he gave him so just had him be useless for the entirety of the manga

>will that "I've transferred the damage you inflicted on my magic animal back to you" move he did on shovel bro in ep 1 ever be used again?
No. It was basically retconned.

Fugo was never a main character.

Because Rohan is Araki's favourite character and self insert
of course Rohan got preferential treatment

Just because you keep saying that doesn't make it true
These are all extremely different cases to Fugo and you know it
These were all introduced as stepping stone villains

reread man in the mirror

>Just because you keep saying that doesn't make it true
Just because you say that he's a main character, doesn't make it true.

He's in one fight and otherwise meaningless. That makes him about as much of a main character as Leaky-Eye Luca. Even Polpo has more relevant character.

Literally just filler in the main party.

This. It's okay not to follow the rules, in fact it can lead to really unique and creative possibilities, but there's just some rules that shouldn't be broken because they exist in order to make a thing not suck. If you break them there's no way it'll result in your work being better as a result.

He was introduced as a main character and was clearly intended to be one, as he accompanies the protagonist throughout the beginning of the journey. You know this, don't try to pretend otherwise. Those other characters were villains of the week, and as such are not a valid comparison. Again, you know this, so I really don't know why you're trying to pretend otherwise. It's okay to like part 5 and also admit that it has bad writing, user.

>one fight is enough to make this character do a complete 180

>He was introduced as a main character
Where does it say that he's a main character?

>he accompanies the protagonist throughout the beginning of the journey
That makes him a glorified suitcase, not a character.

>Those other characters were villains of the week
Polpo wasn't a villain of the week.

Fugo is not a main character. He's literally hero of the week before he's removed from the story. He's written for one fight and one fight alone.

I'm giving the anime a bit more of a benefit of the doubt over the manga in this case though. The anime in general feels like a more complete version of part 5 thanks to its additions, if they tie up Fugo a bit better that'll mend one of my bigger problems with the part.

>Where does it say that he's a main character?
What the fuck? What are you expecting? It doesn't explicitly state that any of the other members of the group are main characters, but what do you know, they're all introduced together in the same way, along with Fugo.
>That makes him a glorified suitcase, not a character.
Okay I guess Kakyoin and Avdol weren't really main characters then.
>Polpo wasn't a villain of the week.
What the fuck was he then? So you're saying Fugo was intended to be a character of the week and Polpo wasn't? Holy shit, I try to refrain from namecalling in things like this, but are you actually retarded? Are you just baiting? Or do you actually believe the utter nonsense that you are writing? I get that you like part 5 user, so do I, but you don't have to go through all these mental gymnastics just to convince yourself that it's good. You can admit that it's flawed and still like it, like I do.

Let me make this clear... I'm sorry, but none of us will board that boat. We can't let our 「emotions」 sway us into doing something irrational. You aren't facing the facts, nobody can survive in this world on ideals alone.

W-WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?! Where will you go!? No that doesn't even matter, you'll never leave Venezia alive. This is madness! What are they thinking!? All for a girl we met two days ago! A girl we've never even really talked to! Shes nobody to us! We don't even know what kind of music Trish likes!!!

Attached: 1549687244053.png (446x435, 39K)

>hey're all introduced together in the same way, along with Fugo.
Doesn't make him a main character.

>Okay I guess Kakyoin and Avdol weren't really main characters then.
Kakyoin and Avdol are relevant in multiple fights in Part 3.

>What the fuck was he then?
Secondary character. If Araki had actually planned to use him for something else, he would have written him a manageable stand that could be used beyond one fight. He didn't. His literal purpose is to have a one-off stand and then be the one person who doesn't defy the boss.

>IQ of 152
>Never uses his intellect
His anger was more useful than his intellect. Fugo should've never been introduced from the start.

Attached: 0AD2.jpg (1944x4138, 1.17M)

Fugo pepe shitposting is the funniest part of GW threads

>just because he was introduced as a main character alongside all the other main characters doesn't mean that he's a main character
What I'm trying to say is that he was clearly intended to be a main character, and the fact that he ultimately wound up as a glorified secondary character is a symptom of the bad writing of part 5. No, getting tossed away after one fight was not his purpose, and yes, Araki had planned on using him for something else. He has stated that he intended for Fugo to betray the group, but ultimately didn't go through with it for whatever reason, and I am lamenting this because part 5 would have undoubtedly been better if he had gone through with it.

Being that smart doesn't make you act "better". More often then not it makes you act like a complete tard and get angry over the smallest thing.

What did he mean by this?

Attached: sexism.png (2560x1440, 2.53M)

Nigga why is kindaichi an honorable mention

Fugo thinks Bruno is just doing it for Trish, Trish the person, which is why he even points out the gang have barely spoken with her and they don't even know what her favorite music is. He can't justify throwing his life away for someone he barely knows. I think he failed to realize Bruno never did this for Trish. It's his values that he can't abandon.

Fuwoke

This pic reminded me that I need to watch Monster again.

>Giorno is already immune to Purple Haze
>Could just as easily vaccinate the rest of the crew as he did himself
Even if Fugo were to betray the main characters and turned hostile, like some anons say they wish happened, what was he supposed to do?

>Gio has immunity to Fugo's stand
>Mista and Narancia could just shoot Fugo from a distance
>Buccellati could zip the capsule elsewhere before it pops
>Abbacchio is the only one he had any chance of killing
Poor Fugo.

If my count is right, counting only Stand battles
>Bucciarti 4
>Giorno 4
>Mista 3
>Abacchio 1
>Narancia 1
>Fugo 1

Narancia has 2 fights

>Can't grasp the morals and ideals

was it autism?

Araki is a unique writer. He wanted Fugo to be Diavolo's spy, but he couldn't bear how Bruno would react to the betrayal by his close friend so since his plan for Fugo was to be the traitor from the beginning and he didn't plan anything else for him, he decided to drop him instead

Can't blame fugo. All that shit the boss did to Bruno in the church was fucking brutal

i legit forgot his name
please tell me

Fugo could defeat the boss rather easily so thats why

There isn't place for anybody. And there were times I was like "Are you fucking retarded ????" like when one time he got framed and started to believe maybe he was the killer before getting his shit together

Fugo was the 200IQ second in command and advisor to bruno, him leaving just meant that bruno was no longer thinking rationally and was embracing death purely on emotional impulses.

>I want everything to follow the standard so I know what will happen

he was an incel

So far:
>Buccellati: 4
>Giorno: 5

Bruno: Soft Machine, Grateful Dead, King Crimson, Oasis
Mista: Kraftwerk, Grateful Dead, White Album
Abbacchio: Soft Machine, Man in the Mirror
Narancia: Little Feet, Clash and Talking Head
Fugo: Man in the Mirror
Trish: Notorious BIG

>defending Araki's poor writing (as a result of making the story as he writes it)
I mean, you might like it, but you can't say he's shitty sometimes

His writing is one of the few things I have issue with, since it can get distracting, especially in Jojolion which I think has absolutely no sense of direction whatsoever.

>Giorno can just make animals with stands

Forgot about Beach Boy for Bruno and Mista.

I wish Fugo, Trish and Abbacchio all got one more fight, but this is more balanced than Jotaro and Josuke getting a fuckton more fights than their allies.

nice

Part 3 sucked yeah, everyone who wasn't Jotaro or Polnareff was near useless
Okuyasu and Rohan had stands that were too OP but they had 'fun' arcs to balance it out. I wanted Rohan to do something against Kira since he was so personally invested though

Because the Thus Spoke Rohan series was actually written and illustrated by Araki while Purple Haze Feedback is basically advanced fan fiction. Not to mention it was meant as a special anniversary thing.

You people suck.
Why is Trish the only one getting accounted for Notorious BIG, what about Giorno?
Narancia finished off Metallica, doesn't that count?
Isn't Giorno part of the Clash and Talking Head fight? Narancia would have lost without him making a new tongue.
What about the Requiem and KC fight, that should count for Giorno, Bruno, Mista and Trish.

99% of Araki characters are pure garbage anyway. He only props them up with wackiness and OP abilities

>doesn't even capitalise
Astounding irony.

Trish's elastic bullets make the arrow fly off. The arrow falls at an equidistant point between King Crimson and Giorno. The two begin to run towards it, they are both very close to taking it when, out of nowhere, a capsule crashes near the arrow, which is now surrounded by a purple mist. Fugo Pannacotta stands at a medium distance towards the two contenders.
Diavolo: '' Pannacotta Fugo, what does all this mean? It seemed you were the only one in the Bucciarati team who did not want to betray me, why are you here now, to help me or hinder me?

Fugo: '' ... ''

Devil: '' According to the information in my possession, your stand, Purple Haze, generates a deadly virus that kills the target in a few seconds, with your power you have created a stalemate, but, once the fog will dissipated, the quickest to get hold of the arrow will win, and my King Crimson is superior in strength and speed to that newbie's stand.

Fugo: '' It 's true, boss, your stand is very powerful, and this power, combined with your efficient information network, makes you almost invincible. But there are some things you do not know, and which you will never know or understand, because you are different from us, you are only interested in absolute power. You asked me if I was on your side, tell me, the names Minestra and Scalogno tell you anything?

Diavolo: '' !!! The two hitmen I sent to Rome to kill the Bucciarati team in case Cioccolata and Secco had failed. I thought they accidentally falled victim by Cioccolata’s stand, but apparently you ...

Fugo: '' And this is not the only thing you don’t know. It's true, my Purple Haze kills anyone who comes into contact with the virus, it hits indiscriminately and doesn’t spare anyone. Nobody except him. Yes, boss, there is a person who is now immune to the Purple Haze virus, and all thanks to you, thanks to the mission given to us by you to retrieve the key in Pompeii!

Giorno stands out in the poisonous fog with the arrow in his hand

Diavolo, unable to get close to Giorno, erases time and is preparing to pierce Fugo

Time begins to flow again, the fist of King Crimson is now a few inches from Fugo's head

Fugo smiles with closed eyes: '' I have no regrets, that's okay. This is the least I could do, after my coward behaviour. It’s also my fault that Abbacchio and Narancia ...

The boss's fist goes through Fugo without hurting him. Bucciarati has given the final blow to Requiem and his soul is ascending to heaven. Bruno looks at Fugo: '' Fugo, do not think about what it was, after all that too was part of fate, as well it’s part of fate that you are here now, it is your ideal of justice that has led you to be here on our side, and I'm sure that Abbacchio and Narancia would think so too. Goodbye, Fugo ... ''

Fugo cries, while Bucciarati says goodbye to Giorno, as in the manga. Giorno pierces his stand and goes into Requiem

what the fuck is this faggotry? phf?

Fugofuckers wishing he were relevant.

>survives

he is smart

>What was Fugo's role in the story part 5?
People say that originally Fugo was going to appear later as an enemy but Araki couldn't handle writing it so he scrapped it after fugo left

Yeah no. The two faggots that got sliced into pieces already did.

Man it'd be fire if David adapted Shameless Purple Haze instead the all the crap Thus whatever Rohan stuff, he actually gets a good story in that but no one reads it because the translation is meh and it doesn't have poses, also has the most underutilized character in part 4 as a brief mention so that's nice.

Yeah, Narancia and Abbachio are wiser than him, right ?

Fudio

>Yea Forums thinks having an IQ of 152 makes you "smart"
kek, really tells the absolute state of this board, and the level of wit of it's users. Then again, i wouldn't expect anything else from shounenfags

What'd you guys think of Doppio's voice at the end? I would have preferred Diavolo's VA to voice both, but looking at the roles of the new VA he really suits Doppio perfectly. He sounds cute but with hints of aggression.

I think it's better that he has a different VA, otherwise the plot twist could be ruined for those who haven't read the manga.

>Boss was paranoid that he'd get betrayed by those closest to him
>They betray him
We know who the REAL IQ master is. And Brunoshits are supposed to be the "good guys" despite betraying the trust of their superior?

Just about every high end tier Stand from Part 4 can beat King Crimson.

It's not a plot twist when it will literally happen in the first five minutes of his introduction

was tiziano

he betrayed them first when he started peddling drugs to kids

fuck drugs nigga

>German general attempt to kill Hitler
WOW WAY TO BETRAY YOUR SUPERIOR ASSHOLE

You really can't trust anybody. The Boss should have punched Bruno's head into a bloody pulp and killed La Squadra instead of keeping them on a leash. He was too nice.

Pannacotta "Professor's Boy Toy Hole" Fugo

people with high iqs aren't necessarily smarter in all areas. They're just better at pattern recognition

I'm pretty sure Passione didn't know about Sorbert & Gelato

If he didn't try to kill Trish, Bruno would've stuck by his side until the end.
He dug his own grave, because it eliminated the last obstacle of Bruno teaming up with Giorno to take him down.

That's not why he removed him, brainlet.

The worst part is Part 6, you lobotomite.

Apart from the pink hair, not really.

Fugo has the best suited stand for fighting the boss. Mass area denial is the optimum way to fuck King Crimson

You'll appreciate it even more.

Fugg

A good way to fuck himself also.

Brainlet.

So teaming up with La Squadra was not an option?, it seems like their interest coincide, except the drug thing we don't know about that.

What are they going to do, throw La Squadra's corpses at the boss?

Since they both want to kill the boss it could work but i doubt La Squadra gave a fuck about drug trade so i don't think they would agree to team up.

Bruno's team already killed several of Squadra's members before betraying Diavolo and we've seen how Squadra reacted to Sorbet and Gelato's deaths. I doubt if they teamed up it would be a trustful alliance, very risky from both sides POV.

pancake fucky

>Leaves
More like they left him on that island

>the character introduced as part of the protagonist's main team isn't a main character
He's a secondary character by role and function. Bruno and Giorno are main characters. Even someone as based as Abbachio was secondary

IT would acquire enormous degrees of trust/compromise/forgiveness for even a non-aggression pact.

He was going to betray the group and side with the boss but Araki had depression back then and didn't go through with it.

What did Araki mean by this?

Attached: formerly bluefords.png (1758x1545, 2.15M)

FUCK BRO'S. I WANT TO SEE FUGO'S RESOLVE AND PURPLE HAZE DISTORTION.

sneed

Isn't araki notorious for inconsistencies and plot holes? if he doesn't give two fucks and just writes out a character he doesn't like, i can actually respect that. it means he knows he's a fallible storyteller and doesn't mind fixing something when he thinks it's broken.

This poster has the right idea ^

>episode 7 was 13 years ago
why live

Attached: bNc1mrR2PjOvNS5w.jpg (1200x675, 116K)

Which is funny since Purple Haze probably could have beaten King Crimson.

Purple Haze has very little versatility and actually has to hit its target to be effective considering its virus's AoE isnt very good. King Crimson would kill him very quickly in a 1v1 encounter.

Having a persistent AoE still gives him the best shot of defeating KC without a bullshit powerup.

That would have been cool. Especially since his stand makes for a dangerous enemy.

>it's going to take 2 weeks for this "it was Doppio" meme to die

If Doppio isn't as cute in the anime as in the manga, I will be very mad.

This is Doppio giving direct orders from the boss.

They're not going to give him 2 seiyuu, it's a stupid decision

Is protecting another man's daughter the ultimate cuckoldry?

I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are risking life and limb to feeding, clothing, raising and guarding a girl for years solely so she can go and get ravaged by another man. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little girl - reading her stories at bedtime, making her go to sports practice, making sure she had a healthy diet, educating her, playing with her. All of it has one simple result: her body is more enjoyable for the men that will eventually screw her in every hole.

Raised the perfect girl? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random man who had nothing to do with the way she grew up, who marries her. He gets to screw her in her sweet vagina every single night. He gets the benefits of her kind and sweet personality that came from the way you raised her.

You are LITERALLY dedicating multiple life-threatening YEARS of your life simply to raise a girl for another man to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically.

Attached: image.png (892x435, 122K)

The last time I heard Saito Soma using a deep voice was in Banana Fish, he voiced a tall and bulky dude. He can fit various character types.

>Doppio actually having a real role in the organization instead of Diavolo just letting him pretend that he's important

The fact that a member of Diavolo's guard had no idea who the fuck Doppio was makes me doubt he acted as an intermediary very often. And there'd not be much point in bringing him out for phone calls since Bossu can just say "uh yeah this is the consigliere speaking".

Attached: 1549733001875.jpg (1890x1000, 733K)

dangerously based

Araki said King Crimson was designed based on a character in Total Recall who had an extra face with its own personality. I think he had Doppio in mind, at least.

Why do you think Araki got rid of him?

Because, Araki grew attached to his character, and didn't want to turn him into a traitor. Problem was, he didn't know what to do with him afterwards, and wrote him out of the series.
Funny enough, Fugo still came out looking like a cowardly traitor.
