Consonants it would seem in this language tend to harden or soften depending if there are already soft or hard sounds in the same word. For example ha (wave) becomes ba in mafuba or pa in dodonpa. Same way kao (face) becomes egao (smiling face)

I think we're not using "time loop" to describe the same thing. A time loop to me is a cyclical period of time which keeps repeating forever unless broken by some event, like Groundhog Day or last year's Revue Starlight or the bunny girl anime. Going back in time to prevent something and to cause a new timeline to emerge isn't a loop to me since it's not cyclical, it doesn't repeat, after the new timeline is established it continues to move forward and doesn't constantly return to its own beginning like a loop does.

If the h-manga is the version of events which takes place after Chiyo prevents some tragedy then it isn't really a loop in the way I see it. I think this is definitely more plausible than a loop at least.

I'm not sure what the situation is like in Japan, but it wouldn't surprise me if Derleth's "posthumous collaborations" were simply published under Lovecraft's name there, so they might have a different understanding. A lot of the creatures they reference, even in Ane Naru Mono, were never truly a part of Lovecraft's fiction. But I don't think anyone should give a shit. Lovecraft was incredibly open to letting others fool around with his mythos however they wanted. His whole writing circle of weird fiction buddies were just having fun with it and never took it seriously. Past a certain point the guy just wanted to inspire younger writers, and keeping true to that spirit we're now here.
