You're talking about a writer who literally introduced a new final boss villain at the last second for literally no reason but for sequel material, and then went on to not even write or draw his own sequel.

I swear, if I could have had some say in the writing of this anime, it'd go from an 8/10 to a 10/10. So many missed opportunities. This is another one of those animes where the fictional world is bigger than the anime itself.

Kishi tries to work every new character into the lore. Jugo originating the curse mark is huge for the lore yet he's still a jabroni

I'd say part one was a 8/10.
Shippuden was too up and down to give a blanket rating. Some arcs were 5/10, others were 7/10, but my favorite the pain arc i'd even give a 9/10.

Well he didn't completely forget about her since her curse seal was an important plot device near the end.

Honestly I understand Operation Paper Clipping Orochimaru since he wasn't very attached to his evil agenda and played a huge role in saving the day, but Kabuto really shouldn't have been redeemed.

One of the most sexist moves in writing I've had to see. Hintata had more consistent development and was less a main character than Sakura.

naruto is a series of huge disappointments, starting occasionally in the chunin exams, and gradually increasing in frequency until the end of part 2 which is essentially 2 characters with the worst cases of plot armor I've ever seen using ass-pull-no-jutsu one after another while fighting an ass-pull villain that pretty much comes out of nowhere and proves that the two boys who got the most special boy stickers at the beginning are both basically magic ninja jesus except one is genki magic ninja jesus while the other is edgy magic ninja jesus. All notion of balances, counters, strategy, tactics, and anything that isn't the special bois gets thrown out the window so kishi can keep jerking off nardo and sauce while every other person in a world of characters that developed over 15 years finally becomes totally irrelevant

Nardo should have pulled a true ninja jesus and revive the entire village by himself. Then he can die for their sins and everyone feels bad.
