So very unpopular opinion here, but I actually liked the beginning of Golem Hearts. I thought a golem kid wanting to make his master #1 and him #2 was cool and different.
Protagonist was joyful, had a cool power, and was even going to go through his training (although the teacher was VERY unlikable). But then out of fucking no where a time skip happened, and I was like "what the fuck is this shit!?" Maybe he knew the axe was coming and ended it like that? I don't know, but you just never do timeskips so early.

Golem Hearts didn't really introduce characters that I liked for me to stick around after. Teacher was an asshole, he left his creator behind who was silly and likeable, and they even had the cliche Sasukefag out to surpass the main character.
Kimetsu also did a timeskip in like the first 10 chapters, but I guess I didn't mind since I wanted to see him fight demons with his new power. The training itself and characters hooked me enough to keep me going too I guess.

Had a really cool premise, but went from 'Indiana Jones meets Sliders' to a generic battle manga with long-winded explanations complete with "Church is the bad guy". I don't think anyone aside from people who just wanted to see the gyaru get bullied read it after the first 3 chapters or so. Would have worked better with shorter story arcs involving the professor and gyaru traveling to places where they would search for clues but occasionally have to best an unrelated adversary. Then it would come to light that it all is indeed connected or some shit
